Rimworld

Remember Rimworld?
Anyone still playing this? Any new mod recommendations?

I'm still excited for Anomaly, but I have no interest in Anomaly until the next DLC comes out. It seems like a thing that needs to be experienced as part of another thing, not its own thing. I'm hoping the next DLC will set the right stage.

What is Tynan even working on for the next DLC?Does anyone know?

Details on the next DLC only ever release ~1 month before its release date, when the content is essentially done and they can do pretty promo material. ie,

Point is, we won't know anything at all about the next DLC until they're prepared to advertise it in preparation for its release. With an average 1.5 years between expansions, we can expect the next one to come around September/October of this year.

Anyone still playing this?

I am, with almost 500 mods.

Any new mod recommendations?

Also, take a look at Outpostia. In a few years, I'll be a serious contender to Rimworld.

Outpostia.webm - 1280x718, 3.86M

Did that rimworld in space game ever come out?
Also was Stranded: Alien Dawn any good?

If you mean Stardeus, it's still in early access, and costs a king's ransom.

I don't but I'll look into that one. I had to go find it. It's called Starfall Protocol.

Any new mod recommendations?

RATKIN+RJW

Wait now I'm confused. Starfall Protocol is the one I had saved but it looks nothing like Rimworld any more and Stardeus does. I don't know what I'm doing.

Perfect Pathfinding

looks nice, thanks for this

Outpostia

Looks good! Graphics are a bit rough, but they remind me of a certain C:DDA tileset back around 2018-2019

that other place has rimworlders that are beyond my autism level

So what's your favorite start?

I love my Lost Tribe games.

Graphics are a bit rough

Most are placeholders or style pathfinders. Textures are getting replaced every few updates.

Only vanilla crash because tribe has tech speed debuff for the rest of the game

vanilla research is easy to max out even on ultra slow tribals game

Still nobody ahs explained why her eyes are wonky

ideology is the only DLC needed.

What is your favorite aspect of it? I feel like the Ideology DLC is the one I got the least out of, I would just kinda make a Ideology that would just give a couple buffs to things I do in every playthrough

makes colonies more unique and doesn't add a bunch of retarded bloat.

I am currently making my own Rimworld clone (3D) and holy fug it's a lot of effort to get all systems to work.
I was disappointed with the direction of the game ever since 1.0, apparent now with the overpriced barrage of DLCs.

parties are Op for getting free pawns and mood

I want to play Rimworld but I've been waiting for nearly a decade for these greedy fuck devs to put it on sale for under $20, so at this point it feels like a battle of attrition and I don't want to be the one who backs down first.

I really want to get into this game but the fucking ugly art style and extreme focus on micromanagement put me off every time. Combat especially is either gookclick APM bullshit or pause every half second to issue orders constantly. I like Amazing Cultivation Simulator more and am pissed ACS2 is dead in the water.

I get bored of how shallow the world is. I wish there was more generated history, landmarks, and characters. Nothing actually happens outside your colony.

Just pirate it and all the DLC it's on gog, then you can use an external steam workshop downloader to gather mods.

whatever happened to that medieval Rimworld clone that people were talking about a while back?

lmao he's sold millions. he doesn't give a fuck about you.

the 'ambient horror' option that blends it in was added good while ago

You mean Going Medieval.
It doesn't really have any major flaws, but its amount of content is too lackluster to act as a substitute.

That's when you start playing dwarf fortress instead

Dwarf Fortress doesn't let you interact with the outside world outside of reading procgen slop and doing off-screen raids.

There is also adventure mode

adventure mode. I do agree it would be nice if the fortress mode had proper maps when you attacked people.

no it was another game that even looked quite similar to Rimworld, I just found it it's called Norland.
Still in early access it seems

Yeah and it rules. I always ideoligion my research to slowest.

Speaking of Adventure mode, I wish Rimworld had something similar while being able to control more than 1 creature.
Implemented correctly in Rimworld, we'd have RPG-lite aspects with living and breathing towns (that don't have any needs to mitigate complexity of AI) that your pawns can visit, buy food from, live in, break into people's homes with lockpicking, etc.
You'd make money doing jobs, raiding or accepting bounties. Then you'd have dungeons with traditional rewards that you can sell or keep.

Honestly, this idea isn't unfeasible at all and most components are already there.

but the fucking ugly art style

mod it or just stop crying

extreme focus on micromanagement

The point of the game is to NOT micromanage them a lot. If they aren't doing what you want, you set their work orders wrong.

Also if you're doing a lot of micro in combat, you're probably using combat extended. In which case: stop doing that and just play the game.

There is a mod that upgrades your tech level base on how far in the tech tree you are. So you aren't always stuck with the slow one

or you can just change scenario settings

game called rimworld

need a massive comprehensive sex mod to adding rimming

what gives?

NOOOO MY DICKS!

i bought the base and pirate the dlcs lmao

RJW is a comedy mod and no one can change my mind on it.
I have no idea how people can actually jerk off to this.

gooners have literal brain damage.

want a comprehensive simulation without any limits so I can pull of the most degenerate shit I can think of

but don't really care about the visual part of it or all the autism and weird compatibilities that seem to plague coomer mods

It's real suffering, I just want to immersively build an harem of legally aged hags for my totally-not-self-insert
