RPGs should feature children and allow you to interact with them as any other NPC, including killing. Deus Ex is a great example of a game with integrity.

I enjoy my fictional mediums having integrity and not being held back by fake morality which breaks immersion. If you are going to apply real world morals in your game then make everybody unkillable as killing is a sin and a crime. Only soulless insects would use double standards and sadly a lot of devs fell for this mindset despite good games showing another way.
