this or PTDE?
20 bucks on sale seems a bit steep to be honest

PTDE

where

Remastered comes with online and there's a co-op mod for it that's pretty fun with friends.

I own PTDE and Remastered and while PTDE looks nicer there really isn't much of a difference. 90% of the time you won't even notice a difference since it's like all with the lighting.

Play the Switch version. It's not the Remastered version, it's the PTDE, but fixed.

PTDE was delisted from PC so your only option is Remastered
That game is fantastic; absolutely worth $20

Switch version if you want Remastered with the original graphics. If you don't mind the objective graphical downgrade then just go for the PC version. PTDE was delisted, you can't buy it on Steam anymore.

PTDE is horrific and unplayable with mouse and keyboard, remastered is fine

Remastered is fine and has working online. PTDE is still a fucking nightmare on PC but has slightly better looking visuals in a few areas. Honestly you won't notice the differences unless you're looking specifically for them.

Nowhere; OP is baiting.

with mouse and keyboard

i fart in your mouth for you are beneath me

I just started HRT. Which Souls game makes me more pretty and valid?

Elden Ring, probably.

Bloodborne

The usual sites.

Playing any souslborne game with a keyboard and mouse is cancer. Just buy an xbox controller from walmart and use that.

Ptde is better but its not like it really matter that much. Youre trading

muh bonefire asthetic

slightly worse lighting

For

qol features

working online

not needing to fuck around with dsfix

actually being able to buy the fucking game

Dont think too hard about it if you dont already have ptde than just get the remaster

install dsfix

controller slave

remastered probably has more people online for co-op and pvp, I think PTDE only has like a private server these days

elden ring

Switch version runs like total dogshit

Remastered is a bit uglier but has moderately better performance for whatever reasons and doesn't require mods to play on KBM

Don't forget the physics/framerate fuckery that'll get you killed in Remastered

Bloodborne

I've played DS1R for hundreds of hours and never experienced this

You mean sliding down stairs and clipping through the ground with dsfix's framerate unlocker on PTDE? Or jumps cutting short? Or getting softlocked in the bonfire from quitting it too quick?

DS3 has the most options for dressing like a whore

In the DS1R network test there was some weird shit where if you ran down certain slopes the physics would fuck up and you would suddenly die from the 30 second fall timer despite standing on solid ground, but as far as I'm aware, that was fixed on proper release.

No it doesn't. It runs at a locked 30fps in every area. Unlike the original release that dropped to single digits in areas like Blighttown.

Switch version unironically is the best version of Remastered. It doesn't use the vaseline smeared dogshit graphics that are on PS4 and PC. It's the original graphics but upscaled and with much better lighting. The only valid complaint for the Switch version is that it has tin can audio.

I played it for 140.9 hours and did experience them.

They fixed some of that in remastered, but missed a lot of more benign things like the character not being able to walk over small changes in the elevation correctly, like in the great hollow or blighttown, which will likely lead to you falling to your death.
The trick is to backhop over those, but you need to know where they are in the first place for that too be helpful.

It runs at a locked 30fps in every area

Which is fucking dogshit, you tendie retard. Also it absolutely drops flames in blight town or whenever an enemy uses a magic explosion attack. There was noticable input delay too.

30fps is fine. Especially in handheld. It's how the game originally ran. And no there is no input delay nor is there any framedip. The better graphics alone make it the best. They're absolute fucking dogshit on PS4 and PC. They ruined so much.

30 fps are fine when Nintendo games / games on Nintendo platforms do it

Ahahahahahahahaha
Every single time.

People would take you more seriously if you could simply provide your points like a normal human being, instead of acting like the usual unmedicated fanboy that you obviously are.

I literally said it's the same as the original game ran. Yes, it is fine. I would take 30fps with far superior graphics and lighting any day. I don't know why everything looks like it's smeared in vasoline on PS4 and PC.

ps4switch.jpg - 1080x1080, 156.51K

My point is that Anon Babble is hypocrite, which is pretty clear.
The board is very vocal about games under 60 fps being "literally unplayable" (Bloodborne), but when it's a game on Nintendo hardware (Dark Souls Remastered Switch, Astral Chain) then suddenly the board goes "30 fps are fine, they're the original framerate"

30fps

so unplayable. even the eck can play these at 60fps.

Don't be disingenuous.
Of course Anon Babble isn't one person, but the board is a single-minded hivemind and you know that was my pint but you're going defensive because you're a hypocrite.

Or getting softlocked in the bonfire from quitting it too quick?

kek I remembered this the other day
what a bizarre glitch

What a shill thread. Don't buy the remastered version it they fuck up the art style

I just said Switch is the best version and you sperged out. It is, though. I have every version. The graphics on the remastered are horrible.

I only have DS3 installed because I was replaying the new coop mod with my wife. It's great, btw.

Untitled.png - 301x121, 16.04K

Didn't ask.

I asked.

Told you anyways. Just like I told you that Switch is the best version.

Untitled.png - 1294x733, 1.5M

Should I get this even if they fuck up athe art style and graphics ? The original game on steam got removed don't know where to get og

Switch is the best version

Holy shit you can't be serious. Enjoy the blurry graphics bad lighting and 30fps

Dark Souls is shit don't bother

It has no blurry graphics nor does it have bad lighting. In fact, it has way better graphics and lighting than on PS4 and PC. They kept the original graphics but upscaled them and improved the lighting. If anything, the PS4 and PC version have bad graphics and bad lighting.

Untitled.png - 1297x731, 1.96M

Yeah. People who actually play the game know the functional 60fps and QoL is way better than playing PTDE, and now that the online is dead the retarded new matchmaking rules don't even matter. Just pirate it if you're anal about the context, I don't give a shit, it's just the better version.

file.png - 783x146, 122.17K

It's a no brainer, if you care about having the original graphics and don't mind stable 30fps, get the Switch version; if you don't care about the graphics, just get the Steam version instead.

The only problem with the Switch version is that it rarely goes on sale, the last one was on November 2024 and costed $20, so you would be waiting a while until Bamco feels like doing it.

20 bucks on sale seems a bit steep to be honest

At least it comes with Artorias for that price. DS3 being $30 for vanilla and $42 for the deluxe edition is worse.

IMG_0623.jpg - 1200x2120, 1.54M

Just emulate the ps3 version, retard

That's just even worse PTDE.

I'm the first reply who mentioned the Switch version. Maybe I wasn't clear enough, but I was suggesting anon should play the emulated version, which is indeed the version I played it. Not giving money to Nintendo (in any way whatsoever). Also Anon Babble is not a hivemind, there's plenty of conflicting opinions at all times.
And yes, 30 fps are not ideal, but can be fine is your system/software isn't introducing hiccups.

Just emulate the worst version

Haven't played this game in like 10 years. Is it worth "upgrading" to Remastered for mod support and randomizers and shit, or is PTDE still being developed for?

It feels like it runs better on handheld

i'll sell you my account for 7,000 dollars

3.jpg - 423x485, 18.98K

Nobody really mods on PTDE anymore given that piracy is the only way to get it if you didn't buy it over 8 years ago. Same thing with 32-bit Skyrim vs Special Edition.

fwiw I think that you can mod in the old graphics on the remastered game. If you care about online i'd go with that but id probably buy off of a key site where its cheaper than throw fromsoft some bucks for a bad remaster

dancing rat.gif - 220x246, 1.36M

I literally said it's the same as the original game ran

does it still have the 15 fps drops in blight town?

I see. How's that graphics restoration mod? Saw something about it a while back but it seemed like some of the graphics are still fucked up.

if you didn't beat PTDE on PS3 without skipping blighttown you didn't beat the game

pirate PTDE, it looks much better

No, and that's why it's the best version. Same graphics/lighting as the original but upscaled and improved. No framerate drops.

untitled3.png - 1280x1407, 1.9M

If you didn't beat the game before Lost Izalith got patched to fix the dragon butt aggro range, you didn't beat the game.

implying

Blighttown still has graphical issues on the restoration mod, use at your own risk.
I don't use it myself since the mod author says that it breaks compatibility with multiplayer.

It's 30fps though. Just play PTDE with dsfix on PC or deck.

Nioh 2 lets you play dress-up as an attractive woman.

fwiw I think that you can mod in the old graphics on the remastered game.

sorry im too damn tired to be posting, i meant that you can mod in the old lighting style
youtu.be/XGr1hLiXYOU?feature=shared

It still has better graphics than PTDE. DSFix had too many issues, at least last time I played. I remember just sliding down a ladder would fuck your shit up.

Untitled.png - 534x225, 77.82K

No, and that's why it's the best version.

not a bad selling point tbqh, too bad its on the switch though
doesn't PTDE not have online services anymore?

too bad its on the switch though

Look at the bright side, if you're planning on buying a Switch 2, it will definitely run better there.

Bamco raised the prices of the souls games after Elden Ring blew up. Scholar used to go on sale for $10, now it never goes under $20.

if you're planning on buying a Switch 2

....................yeah.......
seems like a good purchase if you own a switch, thank god I do not
I wonder though how it stacks up against modded DSR on PC

If you buy Remastered on PC I will co-op with you if you want.
