Tired wagie gamer thread.
Can you recommend me single player games you can play in 30-60 min bursts?
Tired wagie gamer thread

single player games you can play in 30-60 min bursts
The only thing that fits that criteria is gatcha garbage.
Either make the time to game, or stick to your genshin impact dailies.
Dr Kawashima's Brain Training
Roguelikes. Hades, slay the spire, blazblue entropy effect, monster train
Either a rogue-like or something with bite-size levels, like a rhythm game or Half Minute Hero
Emulate consoles up to PS2 and Wii. You can play every type of game and when it's time, just use save states. You can resume at the exact same moment next day.
candy crush
oh great recs these. Is Hades the one where you're supposed to lose a bunch of times until you get enough points for upgrades?
The wagie roadie lifestyle is cooked
Imagine the blood pressure driving 1+hr to get to your job then eating donuts and coffee and lunch
Imagine the rush hour indigestion and shits
No, you're supposed to git gud, but upgrades and new weapon unlocks help too
I live a 15 min walk from my work, commuting is not a problem. I just have long-term sleep issues
Risk of Rain 2
Left 4 Dead 2,Vermintide 2 so probably Darktide but i think it's not as good single player but that's not a problem till higher difficulties.
Most 4X games are known for the one more turn mentality but there's no reason you can't just play a bit.
Warsim, racing games and shit like vampire survivors could work too, realistically OP it'll be harder for you to find the motivation then it is to find a game.
Easy: vampire survivors.
Excellent game to play in short bursts and addictive despite that
bursts
even when I had 10 hour job(plus an hour commute)I played my usual games for an hour before fucking off to bed
Kenshi, Fallout TTW, CIV 5/6
just set goals what you want to accomplish that day
otherwise I would just play FTL or Cryptmaster
turn based strategy
roguelikes (lites)
card games
racing (including flying) games
Theoretically every game.
Practically, no RPGs, strategy games or hardcore games with permadeath.
Platformers are probably the best and Nintendo games.
Trails of Cold Steel.
I work 8 to 18, actually.
In fact I'm at work right now!
Any level based game, crash bandicoot, any mainline mario, nu-zelda because of the shrines and shit
single hour of kenshi
that's like 20 minutes of dead time in loading zones wtf
Imagine the blood pressure driving 1+hr to get to your job then eating donuts and coffee and lunch
that's not even bad, imagine the literally cucks that sit in LA traffic every day.
you can finish a kof in 12-15 minutes.
so get a job you don't have to drive to
my comfy slow burn game got slower
dunno anon, it wasn't an issue for me
Wagie lifestyle is bad if you pile up too many responsibilities. Like having kids or too many pets, or being the only mature person in a relationship
The commute can be dialed down if you leave early to avoid peak traffic times, or if you choose to live closer to your job, spend a couple hours on a day off to meal prep shit so you can just reheat something you like instead of relying on garbage that's more expensive
You don't need coffee if you sleep enough
You guys actually stay in your jobs for just 8 hours? My shift is from 7am to 5pm because the normal work week is 44 hours and lunch break isn't accounted as work time.
I know its not federally mandated in the US but what industry do you work full time that lunch isn't paid? Even with the shit workers benefits the US has, a job not paying you for lunch is extremely unusual.
Welcome to the third world m8, remember you guys have it pretty nice even with all the bs that happens in the US
isn't that every single player game?
Embrace the neet lifestyle anon. You'll be healthier and happier for it.
what a blatant troll post.. lol
my last youtube video flopped
brehs...
work 3pm to 11pm
transit is about 15 minutes, usually leave at 2:30 just to be safe
get home around 11:20
have some tea and do some stuff on my computer
in bed by 12:30 at the latest
up and awake by 8am
spend 6 hours playing games untill I go to work
only oldies really
FEAR
Halo MCC
basically all good single player shooters from the 2000s
Have you tried Candy Crush?
So 4:00?
Easier said than done, especially depending on your field. Not every job can be done remote, and even among those, employers still drag their feet on letting people work from home. Plus, rent near city centers where WFH jobs are more common is insane compared to the burbs.
Arcade games
save states
you didn't beat the game
Basically anything on switch since you can just put it in sleep mode.
I bought Balatro on my phone specifically for short burst gaming
Test
Stay banned you subhuman
I had a bunch of fun with Brotato in my lunch hours.
It's my first post in 2 years + Anon pls understand.
Can you recommend me single player games you can play in 30-60 min bursts?
Mega Man games
just look up and follow boss/weapon weakness and you will avoid pretty much any frustrating difficulty curves they might have
My 1.5 hour drive is rather pleasant and its probably the best part of my day. God bless audiobooks.
Manage your time better and you won’t have to do that
I hope your parents break your computer and kick you out today
Imagine working 12 hours shift for 3 days during weekends. I don't even look at any screen outside of work during that time. I'll just play vidya during my 4 days off.
9:00-5:00 goyim cattle
not a 7:00-3:00 Giga Chad
I'd rather wake up, shit shower shave and go right to work then dick around until 9, and stay until the days almost over.
Work 8 hours, pop an energy drink or coffee, play 7 hours. That's what I do. Niggas are just lazy.
I live in a small town so my commute to work is about 10 minutes and it's mostly backroads. Couldn't imagine being a city cuck.
Would you work nights/weekends? My friends who work in restaurants do and I couldn't possibly imagine.
Couldn't imagine being a city cuck.
Its not the city cucks with long commute, but rather the suburban cucks who need to get to the city to work.
he uses public transport to get to work
should i move out even though financially it doesn't make sense?
Whole lot of poor and jobless niggers arguing in this thread instead of answering the fucking question
Roguelikes especially ones with room to room autosave: play and close the game any time with 0 progress lost
hades, slay the spire etc
Mission based games: do 1 or 2 then go back to work
Nioh 2 Xcom vermintide, throw racing games here too
Turn based games: generally have auto save can alt f4 with minimal progress lost
JRPGS(older FF/SMT/EO) Map games/RTS(Stellaris EU4 Total war)
Underrated tier-> Puzzle games
goated genre can be played in short bursts without ANY loss.
Baba is you, Void stranger, bunburrows(I like sokoban)
Adjust the games in genre to taste I go home for my hour break daily and relax with most of the shit listed or new things in the same genre
Risk of rain
Imagine being a wage cuck in 2025 KEK
The game seems to assume you'll lose a lot based on how the dialogue progresses, but it's pretty easy for someone that can actually play video games. Took me 4 attempts to beat it the first time. It wasn't until several cycles later that dialogue progressed to "that third area boss is tough huh? How am I going to get part that."
The game does get enhanced bosses and customizable difficulty later, but I was already bored of it by that point.
Baltero is free on PS+ this month and has proven good for that so far.
Yeah, but it gets kinda boring after you beat it the first time.
driving 1 hour
Man, that would be sweet, I can get some alone-time and listen to my own music for once.
I've never regretted time spent in a game more than that one. I feel like it's addictive qualities are based on some kind of psychological manipulation. An absolutely hollow experience.
Survivors-like, try Holocure if you can stomach anime, it's free and a good benchmark for the genre.
Roguelikes you have to be more carefull, often many "winning runs" can protract for one or two hours.
Some multiplayer team game like Deep Rock Galactic or Monster Hunter where you go oin, do a mission and get out are perfect for what you're describing.
Gachashit is to avoid because the genre prey on your free time while giving you zero rewards for playing it only checkmarking that you've logged in.
Prior to developing Vampire Survivors, Galante worked in the gambling industry, using his knowledge of flashy graphics for slot machines as part of the appeal for the game's chest-opening animations
Federal government contacting. I can only bill the time that's "worked".
Hey Kenshi is 75% off
NOOOOO 20MTD IS ABANDONWARE THE DEV IS WORKING ON ANOTHER GAME REEEEEEEEEE
Just got into Xcom2, and I fucking love it. Those who got filtered are clearly fucking autistic shitters
THIS
It's good for what it is, best aspect of the game is how they kept the color scheme simple instead of flashbanging you with every color of the rainbow.
No its the one that expects you to lose a bunch of times until you grind your stats high enough but its pretty piss easy so the early game is a slog
9-5 chad stock trader.
We are NOT the same
Nta but I also work full time as a lab technician and lunch is not paid
5:30 to 2 PM
20 games in the series
all of them are 60-100 hours long
Insane man
Buying shitcoins on Anon Babble is not stock trading.
Get a Steam Deck so you can instantly pick up your games from sleep mode on your sofa. Plus games are very cheap free if you pirate and you can also emulate.
I dont do shitcoin like you
Dont project scrub
Wait 9 to 5? I've been doing 9-8 like an idiot all this time.
9-5
God I wish.
These days it's usually 8-5. Which means more like 7-5 if you count the commute.
And some places want more than 40 hours a week so it's even worse.
They're slowly whittling away at our lives.
Spend all work day at PC
Eyes are too strained to play games on weekdays
Maybe I need glasses
Rollerdome (pirate this, it's not available for sale)
Pepper Grinder
Aero GPX
Lots of good rogue-like recommendations have already been shared
Maybe check out some episodic games. The first Alan Wake is pretty good and broken into chapters. And older Telltale games might be worth checking out if you like more story-driven stuff. The Wolf Among Us is really good.
I also like farming sims like Stardew and Story of Seasons because 1 in-game day is about 20ish minutes. So I always know I can get through 2 to 3 in-game days if I only have an hour to play something.
When I was younger and worked in a call center, I use to work a late "weekend wrap" shift. This meant I worked 1pm - 12am with an hour lunch Friday thru Monday. I did it because the company offered incentive pay which resulted in me making an extra $3-$4 an hour because no one wanted to work those hours. And there was nothing I would do on a weekend I couldn't do during my 3 days off in the middle of the week.
But now I'm a 9-5 corpo and you're insane if you think I'll work after 5pm, during the weekend, or on a bank holiday.
Being an academic feels great. I get to make my own hours outside of some mandated teaching.
The first Alan Wake can be annoying if you're playing it in sections. You think you're at the end of the level, then a bunch of junk is thrown in front of your path by the "darkness" and now you have to spend 20 minutes going the back way.
I like valve games. Black Mesa hit me in my nostalgia
work from home
no need to interact with anyone
can request any days off that I want
good pay
nap during break
can play anything while working
working at an office in 2025? couldn't be me
Battlefield 1
Beat it recently, I used to play like 3 or 4 missions every day after work, it was comfy.
All of them. Just have the discipline to save and go to sleep.
Plus, rent near city centers where WFH jobs are more common is insane compared to the burbs.
Which is funny since the people living in city centers are the ones most likely to have short commutes to work.
holy fuck at that point I would just look for a part time job in a rural town to maxx my free time
You're retarded. The norm is for lunch to be unpaid which is why people can go offsite. People on average stay at shifts for 8.5 hours with .5 being unpaid lunch
Yep. Six days a week I wake up at 7 and I'm back home at 4:30 if I'm lucky. Got to be in bed at 11 or else I'll be a zombie the next day. Work is prison, that's been known for a long time.
Wait until the 966 system drops in the west.
In real life, everyone works 7-3.
It depends on the company's policy. Previous job I had unpaid lunch, current job I have paid lunch.
Same here brother. My job is a joke lol
quick google search
Holy FUCK
How is that even sustainable? I mean its no surprise they keep killing themselves
Nothing a couple of suicide nets can't fix. If you get the angle right they bounce back to their station.
same. i take like two hours to get ready. got to eat shit and shower and of course commute. so i get 5 hours when i get back home and thats getting 7 hours of sleep if i want 8 thats even less time for myself.
9:00 - 5:00
I fucking wish, try 8:00 - 6:00, and with all the travel shit it's more like 7:00 - 7:00
How do people shower right out of bed? I just can't function. I pee and put on my clothes and leave. I don't even brush my teeth. Leave that shit for the evening.
the evening
. I don't even brush my teeth. Leave that shit for the evening.
Because some of us arent complete slobs going around with a mouth smelling like shit and uncleaned tonsil stones
uncleaned tonsil stones
Am I supposed to deepthroat my toothbrush? I just do the teeth and tongue.
the ones where you can leave your work site are usually the ones that don't pay for lunch break. it's an insurance issue. lets say you drive to mcdonalds and get in a car accident while on lunch break. since you're still on the clock, your employer would have to pay for the medical bill and car damage for both parties. if they don't pay for your lunch break then they don't have to pay for any damages.
i prefer working at night because there are less cars on the road and my car isn't hot when i enter.
only if you want to have sex
omg you're fine in the morning if you shower and brush at night. Also I've never seen a tonsil stone in my life. Is it an American thing?
I dunno, I work 20 day shifts in the middle of nowhere with shared rooms and one bathroom for like 10 people so I take my shower at lunch time around 7 and the next day I'm still clean, as long as you change your sheets regularly it's okay, I love getting to bed after a comfy shower, with no internet the place sucks but a hot shower is a blessing
Try to get Daggerfall running on your phone
30-60 min bursts
How is that even sustainable?
Simple: there's always more people desperate not to starve than there are available jobs.
Damn Chinese really our slaves.
Cloudbuilt is my fallback game when I want to do something but don't have the time to commit to anything.
this guy lives my dream life (as long as I don't have to I see, listen to or talk to anyone else)
Those were the highlights anon. In between it's hours of talking to managers, coworkers, fast food workers, gas station attendants and worst of all caring family members wondering how dating is going.
nah the guy didn't show any work but he seems like some kind of construction worker or traffic control probably doesn't have to talk to anyone at all
9-5
nobody works this little.
you take a 30min-1h break somewhere in there and it ends up being 9-6 or 8-5. you'll probably be doing a bunch of overtime on average (or be on call in some way), which likely costs another 30min per day or more. that's work. then you'll likely also spend at least 30 minutes per day commuting, probably more, and ponder company politics or problems you're trying to solve at work in your free time. if you're lucky, you'll get one or two hours of free time per day in after chores.
15 minute bursts, wagie!! You don't get paid to sit around!!!
How is this your dream life? You can dream of anything.
9-5
Don't know that feeling, I work overnights. The Switch has been a godsend. If the deck wasn't a hulking monstrosity I would buy it. Hoping the 2 will fix that.
