This has to be the best video game ending in quite some time
This has to be the best video game ending in quite some time
please kill me
no
Piano boy not so tough after younger sister bullied him to play the piano.
brings back child version of him to watch
damn and I thought Aline was fucked up
This one shot will definitely be memorable.
That child is not him, it's one of the three Gustave's apprentices from the beginning.
retard
Clea is the oldest sibling and thereby the least retarded. Alicia is the youngest and the most retarded baby sibling.
the child absolutely doesn't look like any of the three apprentices, he doesn't even wear the same clothes as them
it's child verso
unc is crying lmao
even in maelle's ending they're hinting that verso's ending was the chad choice
Anon right and you sir are in fact a retard.
fuck off retard
fuck off retard
They really need to add a footwear on/off toggle for Lune's outfits.
have you been living in a cave? it's the new GOTY
Yeah, probably. videogames are terrible so there isn't a lot to compare it to.
Nigga...
Versofags have some kind of mental illness, look at them seething
gets told to fuck off
just doubles down
not a good look
stop posting at any time
I honestly can't even tell anymore if this is meant to be an actual discussion of the game or ragebait
why is sleek n tears crying?
Naw, Lucian need to be playable for that.
he was a bro
fucking parries and endgame enemy like it's nothing
that parry was impressive
So were there only girls in the team outside of Verso because it's Verso's dream world?
Makes sense I guess.
As I said, mental illness...
Why are you forgetting Monoco? But the real reason is that the devs are based and wanted people to have a team of barefoot sluts wearing bikinis. And for that, I salute France.
fuck off retard
just ignore and report him for being a troll
Anything that isn't Verso ending is literally trolling, no media literacy and/or stupidity.
Possibly also transexualism
this nigga still can't take the L
zoomers can't admit when they're wrong
very true
This wouldn’t be out of place in a Black Mirror episode. Just replace the painted world with a VR world.
it makes zero sense for it to be one of gustave's apprentices from a narrative standpoint
it's obvious maelle brought back the child version of her brother - and makes it more twisted that she makes him watch his older self play to her whims
yes anyone with a brain knows this
which is why maellefags do not
I was really convinced by the Verso ending too but then I replayed the game and something stroke me.
In Verso's ending, Gustave is not waving at Alicia, but beckoning her.
The man that she cared for most as Maelle is calling her over. To join him in death. That's like the opposite of a hopeful ending. Maelle ends up the litteral parallel to painted Verso in hers. Trapped in a life she doesn't want wishing she could die.
There is fairly high chance Maelle will kill herself in the future and is strongly hinted by the writers.
but beckoning her.
Keep spamming this and one day someone will believe you.
something stroke me
I think you had a stroke
it makes zero sense for it to be one of gustave's apprentices from a narrative standpoint
It makes all the sense considering the whole expedition was to give a future generation chance for a peaceful life and apprentices constantly mentioned during the game as you write the journal.
god maellefags are so retarded
the lil nigga dropped the journal and ran off
also what the fuck does that have to do with bringing only one of the 3-4 kids to watch the show? why doesn't she bring them all?
you fucking retard. just admit you're wrong.
you're arguing with an esl bro
maelle resurrecting and bringing lil verso to watch punished verso is meant to illustrate just how far gone she is and you would have to be an absolute brainlet of the highest order to think it's one of gustav's appreciates because not only does it not make sense to bring only one of them, they'd obviously come with gustave and sophie
STOP WITH YOUR HEADCANONS EVERYTHING'S PERFECT AND SHE'S SUPER HAPPY AND VERSO WANTED TO PLAY FOR HER
REEEEEEEEEE
kek
based and truthpilled
I mean I'm not saying I know who the kid is but he is primarily shown with Lune and she is the one who checks on him before the show starts, Maelle doesn't interact with the kid.
found the maellefag
to illustrate just how far gone she is
everyone with a functioning brain knows it's verso
how is it even humanly possible to be this dense
next you retards will claim it's Line's younger brother or kid
jesus christ almighty neck yourself
lmao
yes because she's a caring person and maelle it just using him as a dopamine hit while sciel is over there pretending she didn't cheat on her husband with adult verso even knowing full well she could bringer her husband back that fucking slut
she really is a fucking whore
it just
is*
You assume Sciel even remembers the events of the game.
fucking hell you just can't take the L can you?
oh she remembers that big verso dick
it's a joke you fucking imbecile
don't bother with this absolute retard
How adventurous of you to think Alicia would allow anyone to know about her dear brother's cock.
The part that illustrates "just how far she is" is the whole fucking thing. She isn't meant to be there, her face expressions make it clear she is a bit insecure and probably lives in a constant state of mild stress over knowing what she is doing to herself. It sucks that Versofags don't get that and have to come up with head canon shit like "She is using anime brain control powers on everyone around her"
Maelle/Alicia's ending is her fucking up completely, and Maellefags can't handle that.
anime brain control powers
Oh, you brought this back again.
Based retard.
yep.the damage control over her ending is insane.
she's literally a painter you fucking imbecile
kill yourself you waste of oxygen
Idiotic retard. Painters can't assume direct control over painted creations like fucking Harbinger. They can create things that they can instill their ideas into, but nobody, not even Aline who is the best painter of them all, can control a painted person. Not even once does this happen or is even implied. Fucktard. Get out of here.
maellefags once again proving their absolutely brainless
why are you guys so angry
Either show one scene or dialogue line where a painter uses so called brain control powers or shut the fuck up forever with your head canon vomit. One chance, post a clip, image, quote, now. Either do it or fuck off.
Friendly reminder you're arguing with literal tranny predditor here, the evidence is just too much at this point
clea would like a word
Simon says hello
wut
His ending broke me anon, pls understand
there are multiple instances in which people are 'painted over' and made to be entirely different, retard
Clea, twice at that.
The ending happens after some undetermined amount of time from the ending since Alicia has brought back "everyone" so she's obviously upped her skills and Verso is now her own creation.
christ you're retarded
aline painted renoir to be a psycho so that is a form of control
this fucking maellefag lmao
let this be a lesson
never go full retard
Do you actually think Clea spends every waking hour mind controlling Simon to sit around doing what she wants, or do you think she didn't like him so she repainted him into being how she wants (not brain control and something that Maelle is explicitly said to not be able to do). I'll give you a hint, only one of those is correct.
because this maellefag is in complete denial that his waifu is a fucking psycho in her ending like her mother
What clea did was paint over someone else's creation.
From the moment Alicia brought him back, verso is hers.
you're the one who brought up the brain control bullshit though
Jokes on you I think that's hot
This is the most fucktarded thing I have ever seen regarding this game and the only thing you have revealed is that you have not played it. I don't think you have even watched the story on youtube. Please tell me you are trying to suggest that Aline painting a version of Renoir constitutes a form of brain control. Because that would be so funny.
nobody mentioned mind control but you
everyone is telling you she just repainted them as in reprogrammed them
you fucking dolt
i never said anything about brain control you fucking imbecile. i said aline painted renoir to be more of an asshole than his normal self because she is pissed at him constantly trying to pull her out of the canvas, and painted alicia with her scars and inability to speak because she despises her.
you're so dumb it actually is hurting me on a physical level
Maellefags somehow managed to convince everyone that genocide is good
Just incredible
No I didn't, the prevailing head canon theory Versofags post is that Maelle is using brain control powers on Verso in the end to make him play the piano, they post everywhere claiming that is the case and not that Verso enters the stage as a way to show he has been forced to accept living in the canvas and will continue to exist in misery against his will.
LUNE SEX AAAAAAAAAAARGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
I don't even need to have played the game to blow you the fuck out. This video is enough.
No I didn't
Yes. You're the only person in this thread to mention "brain control". Also, it's called mind control you fucking retard ESL sperg.
kill yourself retard
I am not watching your video retard, go peddle your shit somewhere else.
Anon those are Versofags
painted alicia with her scars and inability to speak because she despises her
man that's fucked up
i'm not going to get btfo again thank you
sure thing
lmao this nigga scared
Just because you are shamefully trying to ditch one head canon theory for another doesn't mean you get away with it. These threads have been going on for several days now, I remember the dumb shit you people say.
waifufag is a braindead ESL
whoa never would've seen this coming
The evil ending is so much better than the good ending. The shots are just so much more memorable. I think it would have been best as the default ending.
Alicia itade nai~
Verso is a cunt nigger
Lune ai~
head canon
verso literally telling alicia she is talented enough to paint her own worlds
nah she couldn't possibly have done that with her version of those characters haha that's just head canon
cope with some rope
schizo alert
I told you to post a clip or line of dialogue to back up your head canon shit and instead you advertise the analysis you skimmed through to learn about the story, because you didn't play the game.
I'm shocked!
because you didn't play the game
Is this dude really trying this angle when I literally posted my playtime?
he's a complete fucking sperg who is projecting his lack of understanding of the story unto others because he's a pathetic waifufag
i think I'll just stop giving him (You)s at this point
good idea
exactly
lune seething
e33 waving their goodbyes
verso's grave saying "forever painted in our hearts"
to the tomorrows still unwritten playing in the background
I disagree.
Too much melodramatic cheese with the Dessandres being all huggy and shit. I don't care about this family at all.
Instead of posting youtube analysis slop or totally your playtime you could just do as asked and back up your theory. But it seems to be the one thing you can't do.
That's on you then.
why are you guys so angry
That's just one obnoxious samefag in this thread that can't stop seething, best to just ignore him.
what's the meaning of the birthday (?) cake?
there's one of them in the room when you're Alicia right before jumping in the painting
I care about Renoir, the man is the goat
see
fuck off and die sperg
literal game events
theory
lmao you keep claiming others haven't played the game when you come off like that the most
losing hard
replies to this half an hour later
fucking pathetic lmao
well retards do love projecting
maellefag in denial his waifu is an evil bitch in her own ending
this dude spergs out in every fucking thread too
refuses to accept the ending that heals her because she doesn't get her way
Either a Maellefag or a Lunefag, the later would make more sense.
renoir also reinforces this notion too because he loves Alicia and wants her to aim for the sky and all that jazz
lunefags only care about feet like monoco
kek how sad it is
So that's your theory, Maelle created a new version of young Verso to show off in front of old Verso and mock him, who she repainted into being her piano slave (even though it is explicitly stated that Maelle can't paint over people because she is not talented enough). Even though she is clearly obsessed with the specific painted Verso she met in the game, refusing to let him die, loving him for being like her dead brother but also accepting that he is different.
Yeah, except
fucks verso
gets deleted
gets deleted
as should all pump n dumps
she didn't paint over adult verso you fucking idiot
your denial is fucking insane
the only person who said she isn't talented enough was clea
renoir and verso say otherwise
Literally saying what other Versofags are saying, not what I believe. But I'm glad we agree.
yes the whole point is she has lost the plot like her mother and she had a hidden talent for painting which clea kept trying to put down
you're fucking autistic
Clea and Aline treat Alicia like shit and don't respect her painting skills, but it's Maelle herself who says she can't paint over other peoples' creations.
wow it's as if she's insecure or something and verso's dying words woke something up inside her which allowed her to continue larping
I still have zero idea who the kid in Maelle's ending is. Definitely not one of Gustave's apprentices. Why do we think it's little Verso?
Maelle ends up the litteral parallel to painted Verso in hers. Trapped in a life she doesn't want wishing she could die
damn I'm stupid for not seeing this immediately
this game really is all artistic and shit
Anon Babble fucking hates video games
there is even the scene where she couldn't repaint lune and sciel but verso gives her some inspiration and it works
anyway that anon is a sperg so no more replying to him
Why do we think it's little Verso
who else could it be?
why wouldn't she want two versions of her brother around since she's going into maximum overcope?
She did, though. She makes him age at least, that counts as modifying Aline's code/repainting.
"we" think it's little verso because the ending is meant to show she reached her mother's level of grief where she's lost her mind and besides that who the fuck else would it be
no you dickhead
verso died
she repainted him in her image
she didn't paint over an existing being like clea did with simon
Putting Lune and Sciel's chroma back together is not the same as painting over another person's creation. You said it yourself that's repainting, not painting over. The only examples in the story of an existing creation being painted over are Simon and Painted Clea. It could be that the ending takes place a long time after and Maelle has greatly increased her painting skill, but I don't think so.
implying it's even the same canvas
see post below yours
verso died
she repainted him in her image
The Verso we see in her ending clearly understands the situation he's in though. So at the very least she repainted him with the same memories as real Verso and he realizes she's become addicted to the canvas. Still fucked up.
the jumpscare was unnecessary. this ending shouldve been more bittersweet. maelle shouldve recreated gustav to fight verso
I'm starting to think maelle's ending could even be a nightmare of hers that Alicia is having
that's the dumbest shit in this thread
and that's really saying something
recreates gustave
verso tells him what will happen to her
tells her to fuck off from the canvas
There is no way to know who it is unless the writer says so, no need to ask "who the fuck else would it be" like only your theory has any substance, the game straight up does not elaborate at all. All we know is it's a kid with black hair, it could be a new Verso, it could be a random apprentice of Gustave's (I doubt it), it could be the fading child remade, it could be Lune's kid, it could be Sciel's or Sophie's kid.
I think it's actually one the orphans Maelle is with in Lumiere at the beginning.
the fading child remade would be verso
why the fuck would it be lune or sciel's kid?
gustave and sciel don't even interact with him
I was gonna call you a retard but..gustave turning around to beat Maelle's ass and tell her to go home would be too Kino.
it isn't
and again just like the apprentices, why just one?
this denial that's its young verso to show how fucked up she's become is beyond retarded
I don't think it's Lune's kid but she is the only one who interacts with him, and she shows him affection. Remember Lune still has all her memories and knows everything that happened, I doubt she would approve of Maelle magicking up a Verso clone child to parade around while the original painted Verso is right there.
hates older verso
makes him old and is somehow forcing him to play as shown by her fucked up face
ressurected young verso who she prefers
it's really that simple
we're shown an important kid without a face right near the end of the game
a few minutes later a new, singular kid shows up hanging out with the main characters
"who's this new kid? could be anyone"
Autists like you who need everything spelt out to them shouldn't be discussing artistic works.
as previously stated it's because lune is caring and it's to contrast maelle who is basically ignoring him most of the time
it's just complete retardation to not realize it's verso
NOOOOOOOOOOOO IT'S TOTALLY LUNE'S KID REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE MAELLE IS A GOOD GIRL :(
If she wanted that she could have just left the canvas and made her own canvas filled with Verso clones to waste her life away with. It's made very obvious she cares about that specific Verso and keeps him alive against his will to spend more time with him.
not only are we shown the kid but verso confirms it's the real verso's soul
it wouldn't make sense it being another canvas because the whole point is her wanting to be in the canvas with verso's soul (the kid)
well what's little is left of it anyway
whole point of her ending is to show her spiraling out of control like aline
nah it's just some random kid for no reason lmao not the fractured boy we saw 5 minutes ago who was confirmed to be verso's soul haha that's not important
that particular cake is very obviously a black forest cake and thus a somewhat dated cake is a lie reference
=
verso's ending is how to deal with grief
maelle's ending is how not to deal with it
I think the kid being a "repaired" version of the fading child is interesting, his appearances towards the end show he is willing to be swayed either way towards painting or not painting, but Maelle doesn't actually interact with him in the painting, maybe because she just wants him to shut up and keep painting.
why the fuck would it be some random kid lmao
verso takes the kid to fade away in his ending and maelle takes him to her fantasy world in hers
they couldn't make it clearer is they tried
maelle's ending is that she is a brocon and that she would literally rather die than not being one
he's just a crutch like literally everyone around her
wat
is
if*
fucking need sleep
it's a pretty big difference between it being the fading child (a representation of the canvas itself, i.e. its creator pouring his soul into his creation) or Maelle being so fucked that she makes a kid Verso for her personal amusement like people were implying earlier in the thread
yeah maelle's ending is better because it's more tragic
literally everyone around her in the ending is there for her amusement - that's the point of the ending
both endings end with Maelle saying how she can't let go of verso = she is a brocon It's a joke..kinda, but yeah her biggest motivation from the whole of act 3 is literally being with Verso again
They would be there anyway in a "good" ending, the point is she does a good thing in saving them but is completely wrong about wanting to live in there with them. I think that's what I like about both endings, Maelle wants to do the right thing for the most selfish bad reason, and Verso wants to do the most fucked up unfair cruel thing for a good reason.
Honestly that is the best take. It's a fucking shit ending, but the B&W and verso's expression go hard as fuck
The kid is obviously Lune and Verso's son
He doesn't look asian enough to me. But it is somewhat implied that Verso stays with Lune in the end, through one of the songs' lyrics and through Sciel having her husband back.
I think it's one or two literal kids shitting up the thread and spamming "retard", "maellefags retarded" every two posts. Like some other anon said, the game has a same face problem and the kid does look like that one apprentice. Not surprised people think it's him
The contrarian Anon Babblearrative is to push for maelle and say she literally did nothing wrong in her ending
I thought it was supposed to be Gustave and Sophs kid, since they're together and they originaly split because Gustave wanted kids and Soph didn't due to the whole gommage situation.
whoops meant for
the patrician viewpoint is that Lumiere should not have to pay for the Dessendre's faggotry
Painted Lumiere should not even exist in the first place, sadly
verso takes the kid to fade away in his ending and maelle takes him to her fantasy world in hers
how is he reformed like new? maelle shouldn't be skilled enough to change the actual piece of verso's soul. is it just a copy of the boy in maelle's ending?
Liked the game, disliked the endings. No one gets to be happy, so it's all masonic trash. Satanism is never the answer, anons
overcoming grief as a family is satanic
Nice catch. I noticed maelle doesn’t wave at all and fades much slower, but your noticing is much more significant.
people on Anon Babble are retarded and only see what they want to see due to being retarded
ebaums world should have let this site stay dead
noooo my precious verso ending, don’t taint with noticing!
If they wanted to make it obvious it's kid Verso they should have put him in the same hat and coat. Instead we have a kid with the generic kid npc face and different clothes
neither should you but I'm not advocating killing you, anon
And acting different isn’t “controlled” by a painter.
knows he will likely never see his daughter again
"ill leave the light on for you"
bros
Cause the problem by trying to force your wife
Repeat it by keeping Alicia in the paiting when she tries to block her from getting in the second time
"God I am so sad my family keeps fucking up I just don't know why"
No wonder every single beta cuck in this site relates to the man. It's the fuckup you'll grow up to be.
That's supposed to be a white guy?
No it's an Esquie, silly.
you should let your wife and daughter succumb to a drug that will slowly kill her because they feel good
maellefags, everyone
Renoir would be fine with keeping the painting if the women in his family weren't fucking lunatics
I don't understand the Curator and Renoir. Renoir was the fake painted version and Curator was the real life person trapped in there, right? Why was Renoir killing everyone and preventing them from reaching Aline?
you should never learn to communicate or fix issues because that would mean giving control away for a second, and it is scary
Make it everyone's fault instead, that will justify it
Enjoy being a failure in the making because you can't even comprehend the most basic grief 101 on what not to do, I guess.
just keep your stash of cocaine in the drawer bro, the ladies already swore they would just use it every once in a while
It has to go. And even if it goes, they're so unstable that they will probably keep living fantasies in other canvasses
The fake Renoir was created by Aline to defend her and guilt trip expeditioners. Fake Renoir was basically just one of Aline's minions. Nothing more to it.
It goes hard if you're stupid
I'm not angry. I love this game in a way that I haven't loved a game in years.
giving control away
lmao maellefags can't even see how delusional her excuse was
but aline created the lumiere people, why would she want them to come and get killed?
Painted Renoir wanted to protect Aline from real Renoir ending her little vacation.
It's okay my dude, being a failure was engraved in you from the start. You never had a chance.
she isn't responsible for the expeditions. all she did was create them. she created renoir to guilt trip the expeditioners who got far enough to threaten her, and by extension, lumiere.
you will never join the expedition 47: The drunkards' brigade.
Fuck this sober life !
But the game says that the numbers by the Paintress are a warning and that she tries to save them, what does the game mean by that?
If the Nevrons kill them they get chroma locked and its taken out of circulation. That's why Renoir ambushes the expeditions early.
the twist is that she was protecting everyone below that number, not killing everyone above that. the real renoir was the one responsible for the gommage. he was killing everyone he could as aline's power was winding down. i wish the game's plot was a bit more explicit on these points.
a bit more explicit
It explicitly tells you, except painted Alicia never blames him
He does love her
Gives an amazing context to
Painting love
Painting life
The letter fucking tells it to you straight out, and you see the consequences 5 seconds after the letter ends. The explosion also comes out of Renoir's Draft's location too
so the numbers represented the amount of people that the real renoir was erasing? or the age of the people that the real renoir was erasing? but the real renoir was the curator all along, wasn't he?
i meant more with regard to the fake family. you get a couple references to aline's "make-believe" family and then it's forgotten.
If Verso ever only painted that one canvas world painting then who the fuck painted all the other paintings in the manor that are clearly from the game/canvas world?
if the number was 33, real renoir sealed beneath the monolith was killing everyone above the age of 33, while aline was protecting everyone below that age. the real renoir was the curator, but not really. the curator was more like his subconscious.
Real Renoir was the curator, yes.
And he was trying to erase the world so that Aline would survive and return to the real world.
Aline was trying to warn her creations by painting the age of everyone who would die this year
thank you that helps in making it all make more sense to me. i assume there's literally no reason given as to why renoir is only able to erase people above a certain age every year.
Clea says ambiguously that the oldest creations would die first.
aline is the more powerful painter, but renoir has the advantage of being able to eliminate her oldest creations as her power wanes. it's a pretty brilliant twist imo
exactly why Lumiere shouldn't have to pay the price for their shit. They'll just fuck up more canvas with their histrionic shit
We want what's best for both of our families
She made me grieve you too
She's not your family, we are
There's plenty. The problem is that people are (justifiably so) too focused on the expedition and the paintress to read between the lines of all the b&w scenes and maelle's nightmares. If you go through all of them again there's signs everywhere
Why did verso want to die?
Jesus christ I must've forgotten that line that explains it thank you.
Renoir and Clea fill her hard drive with junk and corrupted files, so she allows the oldest files to be deleted every year to not run out of space.
PSA for all Cleachads - There is a glitch where returning to one of the Flying Manor boss areas and talking to the ghost boy to teleport back will reset the outfit giveaway. You do not need multiple playthroughs to get Maelle, Lune, and Sciel the best outfit in the game.
I’m going to kill your friends. Then your family. I’ll make you watch your brother die—just in case it might inconvenience me someday. After that, I’ll lecture my father on the meaning of family… before I kill him too. I’ll lie to you about everything—your actions, their purpose—because explaining the truth is hard, and I’d rather you unknowingly destroy your hometown, loved ones, and comrades.
Remember my sister? She wants peace. She believes we can talk things through. She wrote me a letter full of hope—one I’ll never share. I’ll convince her not to kill herself, all while making her life so miserable that staying becomes the crueler option. I’ve had 100 years to accept these fake memories of a man I never was, and even though you all support me as my own person… I’ll still kill everyone in Lumiere for the sake of the woman who created me.
You’ve forgiven me—again—for everything. So I’ll hesitate briefly. But Alicia once lied to Renoir after getting 16 years of chaos injected into her brain, so naturally, I must now kill you all. Clearly, there were no alternatives.
Now: suicide. It's morally grey, and totally for her. I mean, you saw what happened with Aline. The Dessendre tried nothing, and it didn’t magically work out. So that’s proof, right?
It has to be, otherwise I would have to think back on the time I gaslit and killed my girlfriend over a minor misunderstanding I did not even try to explain.
We’ll never know who’s right. Just endless fog, ambiguity... and a piano.
NOOOOOOO THE GOMMAGE IS COMING WERE ALL FUCKING DOOMED MOMMY DONT LEAVE ME :(
it's actually just an old fucking man painting on a canvas killing imaginary fake people
lol
lmao
be painted verso
realize you're just a copy of some dude who died, inherited his memories
a grieving mother made this whole place so that she can spend time with you
every disgrace that has ever happened in painted lumiere is because of you
spend 100 years trying to put a stop to it, meet thousands of people who you had to bury, since you're immortal
Imagine how miserable of an existence that must be
Depression.
yeah true, but it felt a bit muddled to me.
Not to mention he probably resents her for intentionally painting Alicia with the burns and not even coloring her in
I'm just glad it wasn't a time travel/loop kind of thing. Soon as you land you can see how gustave kind of looks like renoir and some of the hints they drop throughout act 1 can make you believe maelle is actually the paintress or something like that
The whole story could have been solved if Clea "got back" like she said she would when Alicia got painted over and fixed things. But she never came back.
Soon as you land you can see how gustave kind of looks like renoir
you have to be a faceblind autist to have thought that, not to mention Renoir has blue eyes and Gustave has brown ones
I don't know, I'd taken time travel shenanigans over the isekai and ai rights shit act 3 unleashed.
nta but i mean before i got further into the story i thought that maelle/gustave were alternate versions of renoir and painted alicia so :/
It's fucked up because he's at odds with literally everyone except for painted alicia. And he knows both versions of everyone as well
No wonder he constantly lies out of his ass. The moment he says the paintress is actually preventing the canvas from dying, everyone would turn his back on him
Gustave has green eyes, just a very dark shade.
There is a terrible movie with Owen Wilson and Salma Hayek about the genius inventor who enjoyed living in VR so much that he ended up staying there.
Eye differences in a magic, twisted world doesn't really mean much
Then they throw you the red herring of verso's scar and how renoir has a mirrored one too
A game from Japan would never have the balls to do an ending like Expedition 33
I'm morbidly curious about what it was that Alicia trusted the writers about and how that lead to the fire in the manor.
Every Maellefag needs to be registered and not be allowed unsupervised use of ai tools of any kind.
B-B-B-BUT THEY'RE REAL!!!
UR A FUCKING IDIOT
Aline is the villain of the story, no matter which ending you like.
No you don't understand I HAVE to lie
No wonder we reached the pasta,
help, I can't find this song in the OST. plays at the beginning of act 3.
youtu.be
709816427
That's some weak bait, son.
there are no Maellefags, only retards and Lumierefags
What's a videogame that has an Act 2 ending or revelation that upends the whole story that didn't turn out good?
Where's the lie?
Remember my sister? She wants peace. She believes we can talk things through. She wrote me a letter full of hope—one I’ll never share.
This is Verso's greatest mistake.
Star ocean 3
In literally every single one of his actions since before even being introduced.
Renoire character in case canvas people are real
I have genocided 3 civilizations to save my wife and daughter and I'd do it 100 times over.
Renoire character in case canvas people are not real
Monsieur sims save file! Please accept sincere Dessandre family apologies! May I delete you pretty please?
That just goes to show you how skilled Aline is at writing AI prompts. Even Renoir was impressed and immersed himself.
Thank you for conceding then
fought his father, who wants to keep this going forever
hates his mother, who brought him to existence and gave him the burden of being his son just out of selfishness
has to lie to every single expedition, telling them that killing the paintress would actually free them from the curse of the monolith
has to lie and omit information to real alicia; she ended up finding the letter regardless
lune always calls him out on him not being trustworthy. Evades every question and just says "s-sorry I don't know" to things he full well knows
He would have instantly sliced that expedition 60 guy if he ever found out he was moments away from revealing to all of lumiere that the real threat was real renoir. I would not be surprised at all if he actually killed some of them for knowing too much
Why is there a painting of the monolith with 33 on it in the IRL mansion in monolith year 49?
Not that it makes him a better person, but it makes his perspective a lot clearer when you consider he's probably thousands of years old and has known Aline for thousands of years too and has already created and destroyed multiple civilizations in that time. He says he and Aline have created hundreds of canvases.
Not wanting to join expedition 60
That's because most of this board would happily choose escapism
Reminds me of that one comic of some anime bitch wanting to go on an adventure, and she get's offered a drug saying it'll stimulate the same feelings while she sits in a dirty room. Can't remember it's name and don't have it saved.
Because those paintings are just there as an in game way of showing the reference artwork of the game and its areas.
for me to poop on!
is that not arnold am i just retarded for thinking it
709819052
needs to show up 4 hours later to refresh stale bait nobody bothered to take seriously because it's literally so detached from what the game intends to convey nobody would even entertain the notion
Why are these threads always like this
it's not actually canon
Amazing explanation
... Kay?
maelle ending is called a Life to Paint
verso ending is called a Life to Love
what mean
Even Sciel's dialogue says that Maelle's ending is wrong
Sciel says everything feels wrong.
sacrifice self to save sister
your whole family goes to your minecraft world
parents fighting
sister batshit insane, need to save her AGAIN from her stupdity
not allowed to fade away in peace
i'd want to die if i were him tbqf
He had too many hot women throwing themselves at him. You couldn't imagine that kind of stress.
this thread
What is with not wanting to believe the kid is verso when it's so obvious? I'm genuinely confused.
It's tough.
true
Jeet just can't live a minute without brining up proompting
mass genocide and ruining a girl's life who spent 16 years in the portrait vs freeing the soul of someone who is already dead
Easiest decision in my life. Fuck Verso
Is E33 the new highwatermark for fantasy storytelling in videogames? what else competes?
most likely just a copy because verso would protect her as a kid when clea would pull her hair
what i've gathered from this thread is that maelle simps are fucking stupid
Is E33 the new highwatermark for fantasy storytelling in videogames?
Literally unironically a standard jrpg plot this games plot was literally a sub plot spin off of a final fantasy game.
BG3 should be the highwatermark.
If you're over 33 and own a computer, these are must play games!
Missed RPGs with good ending/ Lately it has been all about beating the final boss and getting a message "you did it! please look forward to DLC!"
i got tricked into thinking gustave would come back because he had locked skills
maellefags still trying to imply she did nothing wrong
You're confusing storytelling and plot which means a lot about your IQ.
except the painting is magic and so is the man, and the fake people are actual people born into a pocket dimention made by a magic painter from a family of magic painters that are using it as an outlet for their drama despite the the painting being very tangibly alive
final boss is just a tired dad who wants his stupid daughter to come back home instead of overdosing on copium
true final boss is either said retarded daughter or the brother that wants to save her
It's just effective storytelling.
poor renoir man
tries to save his wife
then daughter becomes like wife
alicia a shit
Your take on renoir and alicia's conflict shows who you are
teenager/daddy issues
family person/parent
Moody French game
Verso's ending is in colour
Maelle's is in Black & White
People think there's no good ending.
what "take"?
he loves her and she just wants to get away from reality and he doesn't want to lose her
what other takes are there?
they are quite a vocal minority
did they just rip off star ocean 3 but make it a painted world and add a french family drama to it?
you don't get it he's being dismissive and doesn't understand her he should respect her wishes and let her live in fantasy land and kill herself if she wants to ok!
also going to take his wife from his crazy bitch period back was extremely selfish
And actually made it good, relevant and nuanced instead of
of course it doesn't matter he only person who cares is basically a caricature
Also it wasn't the third installment of your fantasy scifi series.
there are people with that take?
what the fuck lmao
there is no way a world would "create" another world through painting in such an unregulated, reckless way
Renoir is like your father watching you spend 20 hours a day on the computer instead of living, this triggers some anons here
Well, there's the Maellefag and someone who types like a teenage girl on her period.
That's about it.
there's one anon spamming "Renoir was wrong because he was mean to them instead of talking like a therapist"
it's like the retard who claims gustave is beckoning maelle in verso's ending as opposed to waving like everyone else
I mean Clea said herself Aline broke the rules of the council, and since Verso didn't paint any humans I imagine that creating humans/real worlds within a painting is a no-go. You get into the messy situation like this
He's nice enough to add
beckon
to every single of his posts so everyone knows it's him at least.
I still don't understand why people jerk of BG3's story.
I don't even dislike the game, but it's story isn't really that much.
I think the bigger tell is he has no unique abilities from his weapons, like Maelle having that sword that starts her in virtuoso and such.
Though I personally was thinking maybe he'd have some big moment where he get's a cool power up.
nice argument.
he just wants his family back but the women are being retarded
I imagine that creating humans/real worlds within a painting is a no-go.
There's literally no difference between a human and a gestral in the canvas as far as the game goes. Humans just look human.
It's because Painted Renoir killed all the men.
The majority of Anons are male, right leaning and atheists/nihilists, so of course the majority of people here are going to side with Verso.
No wonder Aline forgives him so easily for stopping her chimpout.
It makes me wonder if there's any time dilation going on between the inside and outside world.
Like did 19 years pass for Maelle after entering the canvas or is it something like 19 months or 19 days? Or even less?
can't reproduce
if they die, they can bring themselves back without the help of a painter
Aline created a fake civilization but she didn't create Lune herself, generations of fucking did that
I know who you voted for
Lune and Sciel have all their memories, so why are they ok with Verso being tortured onstage? Especially Sciel, who was always the most empathetic of the group and always was the first to console Verso when he was upset in cutscenes.
They feel off, especially Sciel's creepy ass smile
gets destroyed in this thread
has to make another one to cry
generations of fucking did that
Humans literally can't reproduce without Aline's chroma, so she's probably painting them all.
Lune and Sciel have all their memories
Do they? Same as Monoco and Esquie, are you sure Alicia hasn't just wiped out their bad memories about the expedition?
doesn't even fix the typos
lol
lmao
She has no reason to. Alicia wants everything to stay the same as how she lived as Maelle. She bonded with Lune and Sciel, why would she erase that?
There's no reason to think she wiped their memories of the journey that bonded them together.
But Sciel's reaction is really weird and disturbing, especially since Lune looks worried at how Verso is acting.
Not ALL of them, just the bad bits.
Esquie and Monoco have no reason to act all happy considering they sided with Verso.
play the piano mon amis~
versofags seething and malding
Ohnonono
Aline knows it is just cope but she wants the cope for now. There is no indication they're in there for more than a few weeks (at most) IRL.
game is literally called light and dark.
clearly, accepting the pain of loss alongside the joy of life, and dealing with your grief, is the thematically intended ending.
She's a woman, even if she's wrong, she expects you to say sorry so she can forgive you for pointing out she was in the wrong.
you're the one who had to make a new thread to cry in lmao
fucking pathetic lol
So it's pretty much confirmed that Writers > Painters, right?
I hope they do a Writer DLC or sequel.
Little Verso nodding his head that he wants to stop was the nail in the coffin in choosing Verso. To me, little Verso represents the real Verso's soul wanting to move on. He's seen everything that has happened in his canvas; His parents fighting, his sister blaming herself, his replacement. His canvas is no longer his, it's turned into a battlefield of death and sorrow. They talk about preserving Verso's canvas, but the fact of the matter is that it was ruined years ago. It's like taking a little kid's drawing of Esquie and Monoco, turning it into a marketable plush, and making that boy the face of it all against his will when all he wanted to do was draw some characters for himself.
The very person they are fighting over, only one person ever asks what he wants, himself.
Spends over 70 years trying to convince wife to leave
She creates a copy of you that supports her wish to stay until she dies instead
It wasn't possible to reason with Aline anymore. And she had more control over the canvas than Renoir did, so his options were limited.
Maellefags are autists, you expect them to accept something that isn't straight up written in the game script?
he had to take the argument out of this thread because he got completely BTFO here and he is now being retarded like this
Little Verso nodding his head that he wants to stop
He doesn't say he wants to stop, he says he's tired. Not only is it possible to do things while tired, but the reason he's tired is explained elsewhere as being tired of his family fighting inside of the canvas, not of just painting in general.
It's easy to see from this thread that a lot of you have never had to deal with an addict close friend or relative.
I hope you never have to, for their sake mostly.
i just finished the game 30 minutes ago and i chose the other ending. i might've chosen maelle if half the endgame didn't compose of systematically hunting down and killing verso's relatives without giving him a chance to say goodbye. does she even revive julie if you choose her? does he get any compensation at all for ~70 odd years of being tortured by the dessendre family?
Nigga you reposted the same post in there, you aren't even trying to be subtle.
admits he's tired
take's verso's hand when he tells him it's time to stop
And the reason he's tired is because he's family is killing itself due to its canvas and Alicia's ending isn't helping.
She doesn't know Julie, so she doesn't get special treatment
Alicia only revives the Lumiere she grew up in.
the reason he's tired is explained elsewhere as being tired of his family fighting inside of the canvas
And that's what will continue to happen so long as the canvas exists.
He saves his sister.
AGAIN.
And gets his sweet release knowing his family isn't killing itself while torturing the soul of his real version.
That's enough for him.
let your little sister and mom shit your soul because real life sucks without you
bro can't even die in peace
I honestly think she created young Verso and just have Verso caged in piano mine forever since he’s the only person that had the motivation to fight her in her utopia
autism knows no subtlety
i might've chosen maelle if half the endgame didn't compose of systematically hunting down and killing verso's relatives without giving him a chance to say goodbye.
Verso was trying to do the exact same thing when he killed the paintress, he thought it would kill them all. Why is it fine that he's allowed to decide their deaths but they're not allowed to decide their own? Painted Clea killed herself and Painted Alicia wanted to die due to Verso's own actions.
So does this painted Verso have the memories of the one Maelle erased? Thats pretty sick and twisted.
I'd be pretty fucking tired if I was forced to do something I was never passionate about for eternity, conflict or not.
It stopped in Maelle's ending though?
Remember when Verso conveniently had the stone Esquie needed to fly just when we needed it?
I wonder what he didn't want the party to see before they defeated the Paintress.
He even says he likes painting in peace.
Nigger, that’s the whole crux of the final fight, Verso was more than happy to let her drown her sorrows in any other canvas, just not this one because he just wants to die and/or prevent Aline from coming back
He said it himself, he didn't want them returning to lumiere every now and then.
I was forced to do something I was never passionate about for eternity
Real adult verso is different from child Verso soul fragment. The soul fragment clearly likes the canvas and everything in it and doesn't want it to disappear, even if Verso IRL ended up not wanting to be a painter.
yea, that's why he's crying and has to be compelled with brainfuck painter powers to play. as far as i can tell, when a painter makes a 'copy' of someone it's just kind of magically their interpretation of the person they knew and all of their associated shared memories, so that verso would be the same one that maelle knows. im pretty sure painted verso mentions having real verso's memories at some point, too.
He knows if Alicia stays in the canvas Renoir will send another family member in to retrieve her and all the expeditions and dying and shit will start again.
For now.
He said he hid it to remove the temptation to return to Lumiere
does he get any compensation at all for ~70 odd years of being tortured by the dessendre family?
He gets to play the piano on stage, while growing old.
He is done with the Dessendre family playing as gods in that world, and making their family issues everybody's problem.
Alicia staying instead of Aline would just mean it would all start over again, and Verso, undying as he is, would have to see it all happen again.
while growing old
he's over 100 and ~80 of those years were suffering.
Loving something you made and not being passionate about the process are not mutually exclusive.
Verso never made a second canvas while it's stated Painters make hundreds of them.
So now they can just create new canvases and continue the cycle elsewhere? That's good for Verso but it doesn't really solve the problem.
The soul fragment clearly likes the canvas and everything in it and doesn't want it to disappear
????
He clearly tells painted Verso he wants to stop painting.
His family has ruined what he loved by corrupting it with their battles.
Is Sciel any good? I never use her, everyone else forms a pretty solid team. I wish you could have 4 party members.
Shes a support character, buffer, debuffer, extra turns, etc.
But he's not immortal anymore, so clearly that means he should be happy
adding on here that something like ~75% of the boy-ghost's dialogue are referring to how the painting sucks and isn't worth keeping going anymore. right from the beginning he says it was supposed to bring joy and it's instead just pain everywhere. it was a child's toybox with gestrals and esquier in it. it was never meant for aline's hyper-realistic lumier-people.
If you do the post game areas the fading boy says he sees the canvas as something worth celebrating and preserving.
Not necessarily.
Aline was supposed to be a paintress that had created hundreds of wonderful canvasses, but she never jacked herself into one like this before.
This one was special because it is Versos's one and only canvas, with a fragment of his soul residing inside, with this one gone they would have no reason to do this again.
He clearly tells painted Verso he wants to stop painting.
No he doesn't
She's like the best character. Extra turns, infinite turns, highest damage burst.
Because there is not a "good ending." These endings are in reality wondrous at exposing midwits and their low IQs with color coded black and white morality dictating their decisions.
Is it enough to be worth replacing a damage dealer or a healer?
The game tells you they are addicted to this canvas because it's Verso's.
The goal was never to stop them from painting, it was to take them out of the canvas equivalent of fentanyl.
he doesn't want to be mortal, he wants to be dead. maelle won't let him. his whole (real/painted) family is dead and he wants to join them.
Okay I'm gonna be a fag. Someone please spoonfeed me what Maelle's ending is and why it's bad.
I picked Verso's ending because it just seemed obvious, you're living in white girl delulu land, sorry but this is a created "reality" and you're escaping what is real. You need to accept the ugly truth not immerse yourself in pretty lies.
What happens when Maelle beats Verso? I assumed it'd be basically "happily ever after" inside the canvas and then they show you Alicia slowly growing old and ill outside of it.
No. The big problem was that they didn't want to leave Verso's canvas specifically because it was Verso's. It was the last thing they had of him and didn't want to let it go.
They wouldn't be attached to other canvas like this
No, he says he considers the people inside to be alive. But the rest of his dialogue all over the game is bemoaning how it's been ruined and now is a tool that causes his family to fight. He even says Painted Verso has the strength to do what he can't, which is to stop painting. Aline, Renoir, Alicia, and Clea ruined it by fighting, and twisted it to be a source of pain.
You are as delusional as Alicia and Aline.
Isn't Renoir destroying the canvas like killing the last trace of his son?
posts it again as if people are retarded enough to miss themes and devs not wanting to invalidate player choice
We're told that this kind of thing has happened before by both Clea and Renoir, and that this time wasn't even anything special, they've had spats which have lasted longer. If they didn't need Verso's death to get into this kind of thing before then it's an inevitability that it happens again. That's what happens when those with the power of gods have the flaws of men.
if you liked E33, play these games next!
it shows Mario
lmfao...
Shut up, play the piano, grow old and be happy Verso.
to get into this kind of thing before
No, they say they've been longer in canvases, not that they've had these spats before.
Yes, she's automatically better than every other character because of Intervention alone (at least lategame, and it's still quite good in A1/2).
Muh themes
There is no correct choice. That post was meant to tard wrangle you with word of god, but only a bullet will suffice for your level of stupidity.
Renoir says he's been in this position before and Aline had to drag him out
These are the people choosing the Verso ending
grim
Just watch the ending on youtube. It's the best ending because of how well done it is, even if Verso's is the right ending.
I assumed it'd be basically "happily ever after" inside the canvas and then they show you Alicia slowly growing old and ill outside of it.
if it showed that, there wouldn't be any debate. instead, it shows only the revived expedition 33 crew and their loved ones watching a tortured verso be forced to perform on stage by maelle. he resists to the point of crying and is forcefully compelled when her eyes start glowing with painter power. it's called "A Life to Paint" instead of "A Life to Love", it's depicted in moody black and white, and the status of the dessendre's outside of the painting is never elaborated on further before it rolls credits. extrapolating from verso and maelle's last conversation, maelle was lying to her father and has no intention of leaving the canvas and plans to die inside of it once the addiction/overdose catches up with her in ~100 in-canvas years.
I see people only talking about Verso deserving a rest, so his ending is the right choice, but they don't seem to think that Maelle's "real" life will be miserable. Her family structure is gone, we don't notice any love between them, she can't speak, her face is burned, it doesn't look like she has friends. Imagine having the opportunity to live a very realistic dream for years, where you can make things the way you want and after a while die in peace, over a real life that you don't like. Anyone would choose the realistic dream.
Maelle's ending is good for her, Verso's ending is good for him.
Yes, once.
But that was due to his inexperience.
He got stuck and was losing and Aline had to drag him out.
This time Aline knowingly locked herself inside the canvas well aware of the probles that would follow.
He’d rather destroy the last remaining of his dead son than watch his wife and daughter waste away in it
life keep forcing cruel choices
To be honest, despite this statement, they really put a lot of effort into selling Maelle's ending as tragic and Verso's as correct.
Also, while I think the endings are fine for what they are, I think the writing falters in that the Lumierians are entirely ignored in the last stretch and the decision becomes entirely about this family of assholes we're suddenly supposed to care about. Death of the author and all that, but the author sures seems to have made an effort to show her position.
There is no correct choice
Yeah, it's just a game about grief and moving on.
The choice where you make the people you love suffer as you kill yourself in your grief is obviously the intended ending.
And I'm sure they thought it was never going to happen then as well, until it did. Face it, you're just consigning another canvas to the same problems
Lune during the Verso ending
we're suddenly supposed to care about
You've been with Maelle/Alicia and Verso most of the game.
Even the biggest retard can see Renoir's point unless they absolutely loath their family.
It's not out of nowhere.
We don't notice any love between them
Aline risked her life and entered the canvas again to help her at the final battle even though she was almost dead
Renoir respected her selfish decision to stay inside the canvas even when both of them knew how risky it was and that Alice was lying about it being just a little vacation
Clea was kind of a bitch but I'm sure that she cares too but in an asshole nee-san kind of way.
"I don't want this life."
"I don't want this life."
maelle can literally just paint another world at any time though, and everyone from verso to clea to renoir tells her that. her real world state is irrelevant because she'll "never be forced to endure a life she doesn't want". she could hop into another canvas the next day and paint a version of verso that doesn't hate being alive and a version of clea that isn't a huge bitch, but she doesn't want that because she's become fixated on the game's particular canvas to the exclusion of all others. it's not enough to create a new verso without the baggage - she wants to force THE painted verso to pretend he isn't miserable.
until it did
Because Aline, one of the best and most experienced painters, went fullretard.
In the whole family, it's happened to them once and because Renoir didn't understand his own powers, obviously they know how to deal with it.
The whole issue is that Aline broke every single rule she told them to follow and that's why Renoir is so mad at her and refuses to listen, because she's not being herself.
but in an asshole nee-san kind of way.
If you complete her tower she shows she cares in a tsundere way.
She just dislikes how passive and meek Alicia is, and that was before the incident. Verso's death being on her doesn't help.
Like, if she decided to stand up and go murder writers with her Clea would be super fucking ok with her.
To be honest, despite this statement, they really put a lot of effort into selling Maelle's ending as tragic and Verso's as correct.
I really don't get that vibe at all. Verso's ending sickens me. It's already been said before, but Maelle's ending is too perfect. The player NEEDS to be reminded she is going to die in the canvas. Otherwise, it's a net positive if you don't give a damn about the Dessendre (I don't.) All the downsides of Verso's end are pretty obvious and don't need to be spelled out if your brain isn't smooth. It's not so evident with Maelle's with everyone in Lumiere being revived and living in bliss.
It's outwardly happy as Maelle, the revived party + Gustave's gf and presumably a kid Verso go watch Verso play piano.
When Verso comes on stage it turns black and white as he clearly doesn't want to be there. Cut's between Maelle, Lune and Sciel (who's sitting with a dude, seemingly her husband), then back to Maelle looking like with a music stinger before he seems to resign himself to playing.
I don't know if the fucked up face is meant to be showing the damage from being in the painting since we know it'll eventually kill her or Maelle forcibly making Verso play.
Facts
Real Verso's sacrifice was for naught because Maelle throws her life away
Maelle doesn't allow Verso to die when he wants to when she was more than happy to gommage Alicia
Maelle will only live inside the canvas for another 40-50 something years(Renoir lived inside for 67 and was almost as weak as Aline)
Verso's soul wants everything to be over
Monoco and Esquie support Verso because it's what the real one would've wanted
Implications
They are not the original Lumerians, but Maelle's recreations
Maelle is controlling the Lumerians
Renoir and Clea destroy the canvas anyway as soon as Maelle dies
I can see Renoir's point entirely. I'm also not saying it's out of nowhere. My complaint is that the writer clearly expects you to trade you attachment to the expeditioners and Lumierians for the Dessendres.
Clea cares but is just fed up with the drama and on the warpath for revenge on the writers.
She's the only one who want's to rip and tear them because Aline and Alicia are coping with the painting and Renoir is trying to get them off the copium.
it's just a game about grief and moving on
Decades of expeditions struggling to survive, their corpses spread all over the world
"The future of Lumiere is more important than any individual life"
Writing in your journal hoping your apprentices read it
"For those who come after" (specifically thinking of the apprentices and expedition 32)
The game is called Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, not Clair Obscur: Dessenre Family Grief Counseling
Actual retard: It was just about the grief though guys that was the only theme.
how do you start NG+?
I wish this game had fall damage. Doesn't feel good that you just roll all the time like a fucking Dark Soul
Expedition 33. Renoir being reasonable is the only thing that saves the mess that "it was all a dream" is.
painting people
fall damage
Go to one of the expedition flags and you start it there.
It is Verso's canvas, his soul can dispose of it in whatever way he fucking wants
Simple as
Congratulations on making one of the most retarded interpretations of the ending
LMFAO
for a French game there sure was a severe lack of smoking.
Written & Directed by David Lynch
I was shook
One thing you can say for sure is that the Dessendres love each other more than anything in the entire world.
But the issue is that they made it everyone else's problem in this game.
Alice shouldn't be lonely in the real world, she just needs to get over the death of her older brother. She could help Clea kill some writters, I bet it would be a good passtime.
You're not supposed to point that out. Versotards ignore over 2/3d's of the game for what they beat off as the theme.
While also conveniently ignoring Alicia is traumatized and now grieving E33 on top of Verso in his ending because they are fucking retarded. Replacing grief with more grief is their ideal ending.
It really did.
It being a painting I guess helped? Verso should have smoked in the game, maybe share it with Sciel or Lune?
When one falls, we continue
Nah my son/brother died so I'm gonna wallow in my misery
Lumiere stops being irrelevant after act 2, just like Gustave stops being relevant a couple of hours after act 1.
Alicia and her family are the ones who comes after (Verso's death)
stops being relevant*
Maellefags can't accept their ending is the worst.
Many such cases. Sad!
Sciel would have one of those ridiculous foot long cigarette holders
The only reason it's happening for Aline is because this specific painting is the only one Verso made. It's the last connection she has to her dead son, that's why she makes the same mistake because she wants to bury her head in the sand and cope.
Maelle ends in an indoor area. The camera shots start wide and open and slowly as the scene carries on the camera gets smaller and smaller until it's stuck only on Maelle and Verso with those two being alone in the room. This symbolizes a trapped, suffocating existence. In contrast Verso ending starts with close ups shots of the characters but the shots get wider and wider until it faces the outward sky. This symbolizes the confinement of the characters in their individual struggles but ending up united as a family and with hope and possibility for the future. You faggots need to learn to read between the lines and understand why shots are done in certain ways.
True, and coffee drinking.
"For those who come after" (specifically thinking of the apprentices and expedition 32)
Actually thinks this is a point in his favour
Trying to use the games title as a gotcha
Fucking retards on this board I swear.
Sounds like a (You) problem. Best ending for me all around with no real drawbacks. Now shut the fuck up. You know what to do.
"The future of Lumiere is more important than any individual life"
I don't agree when that one life matters to me. Simple as. That's Gustave and Lune's belief, and Gustave was ready to turn right about around for Maelle's sake.
We never actually see her gommage.
if that cunt maelle didnt want to get her toybox deleted she shouldn't have ganked verso's sister before he could say goodbye. she created her own villain right there.
Fucking retards on this board I swear.
Yes. You are one of them. That quote is relevant to the legacy Expeditioners leave behind to procure a future where they do not have to live in fear of Gommage. And Versotards burn that at the stake to make sure literally no one fucking else "comes after" for family drama.
Verso letting Gustave die is worse. Maelle was just fulfilling Painted Alicia's wishes. You're stuck in one perspective and one perspective only
Let's put maelle's ending on the average anon perspective:
Gee in real life i am a total loser but thanks to the internet i can pretend to be a total chad
No wonders the majority in this board choose that ending
i'd rather choose escapism even if it means metaphorical death than accept a harsh reality but with life still within it
This is what Maelle ending means
And Alicia is that legacy, which is the point of the ending.
You can cope and cry all you want. You can disagree with the writers opinions. But that is the overall message of the game. Not that huffing copium is the bee's knees.
The problem isn't that you disagree with me but you make shit up to try and justify your point.
