they are an incredibly easy vehicle for putting out a story that creates justifications to make the writing far easier, but a poor writer is still going to do a bad job and write a bad story, but it sure as fuck lets mediocre writers put out better quality work than they would otherwise be able to do, especially in the same time frame.

A combination of being way too minimalist, and a frankly unpleasant artstyle. A good artstyle can save the blandest designs, but the artstyle itself is also both lacking in detail, and disproportionate. It is closer to being Corporate Memphis than it is anime. Those weird fucking "larger at the bottom" legs just make the whole thing look ugly as sin no matter how good the design could have theoretically been.
But the design itself is just so bland. It is basically just a school uniform except it is bland even for being a school uniform!

There are many reasons why that design looks bad, but the most simple one is that is completely desexualized and tries way too hard to don't look feminine. This is obviously because progressives are against these concepts themselves, while both are hallmarks of the genre.
The hostile take over of the company was way worse than that.
Mike had said he wanted to make the company a coop company so everyone got shares etc. However he couldn't do it in the state they were in.
Mariel and another girl from HR began intensely pressuring Mike to turn the company into a coop because they're all hardcore lefties. When it turned out it was impossible to do Mariel who had previously been sexually suggestive with Mike on their Slack began saying that Mike had been inappropriate with her (he hadn't).
Anyway, she began to threaten Mike by releasing stuff online saying he'd be inappropriate and sexually harrased her. This was in part spurred on by the other girl in HR.
They began getting everyone else on the company on their side by saying Mike promised to turn the company into a coop but refused to (this was also untrue because it was literally impossible under their states legislation) and outted Mike as a sexual abuser to the team during a company wide meeting which left Mike in tears.
Mariel and the girl from HR then gave Mike a deadline to turn the company coop or they would walk out. When it didn't happen they all left the company and abandoned him forcing him to resign.
Someone did a great video showcasing the manipulation and backstabbing primarily by Mariel against Mike with the girl from HR as well and it's fucking horrible.
First she's his friend and flirty and everything. Then one day he's a sexual abuser.
Because they just use the most basic bitch features of the generic anime your grandpa thinks about, there are plenty of anime wuth unique and cool artstyles yet these guys just pick the one you find in the "how to draw anime" book in walmart. Alex Ahad has a nice breakdown of his artstyle, and his logic in choosing said inspirations and how they play into his vision
