It's better than La-Mulana

It's better than La-Mulana

blue-prince.jpg - 1024x1024, 169.64K

i like it but no it's not

It's like 2/10. A bona fide kusoge if I've ever seen one.

It is. The puzzles make sense in Blue Prince.

You walk into the parlor

A puzzle of intricate fancy is spread out before you

Three boxes

One contains your prize

One tells the truth

One only lies

Use your deductive powers to solve the daunting challenge

White box: I have the gems
Black box: IM RED NIGGA WHAT THE FUCK
Blue box: THAT NIGGAS RED NIGGA WHAT THE FUUUUUUUUUCK SHITTTTTTT

Can you dare to solve the unknowable?!

This puzzle was totally reasonable.

Why can't we just discuss this game the way normal people discuss things, without instantly devolving into "my toy is better than your toy" childishness.

hewam blest

wot

Because this thread would have already died without the forced controversy. Trust me, I tried before.

Because BP threads rightfully shit on the absolutely retarded mix of genres it attempts.

what the fuck is this

doing great

lots of keys

lots of gems

got a reroll

two of the 3 doors open to antechamber

oh lmao did you want something besides dead ends randomed? too bad maybe play better

oh ok

there isn't a single puzzle in La Mulana that doesn't make sense. it's all implied or hinted
BP is also good but it doesn't have that wonder to it

That's why you choose dead ends at the beginning, when you are at the bottom corners. If you're not getting 35+ rooms each run, you're doing something wrong.

The puzzles make sense

Count the statues of the guy
no not that one that one doesnt count

If we count SMALL gates

Retard gets the reused puzzle being mocked wrong

Oh so I wasn't wrong, I'm ESL so that one was hard for me

It really is

i thought it was pretty whatever. a lot of the puzzles were just exercises in inconvenience. like getting to the antechamber, unlocking the basement door, and then not being able to progress the puzzle it leads to because oops, theres actually a second door you have to unlock :^)

most roguelikes balance the tedium and setbacks in progress with a more enjoyable basic gameplay loop, but because this is a puzzle game the base loop IS making progress. the "deckbuilding" mechanics are also undercooked and i wonder why they even bothered framing the drafting mechanics that way. It's like saying tetris gives you a deck.

La Mulana actually emulates the nonsense of esoteric archeology.

The dart cabinet swings open, the endless possibilities shatter your fragile psyche as you think of what horrors await

It asks its incomprehensible sphynxian riddle

10+20/2=?!?!?!?!

You've shat your pants

that's a pretty low bar considering all you need to do to meet it is not have half your puzzles revolve around standing in a random place for a couple minutes

the most challenging part of that puzzle is that it uses its own order of operations, but its pretty easy to figure out with trial and error, even without the classroom clues

its just not a good look when your puzzle game has worse puzzle design than most horror games

even without the classroom clues

wait what

the classroom tells you what the colours represent on the dartboard

roguelite+puzzle

Who thought this is a good idea, it's like unholy union of a nigger and a jeet

do basically everything that i can think of other than the tomb (which i drafred like twice)

the next 15 days try to get the fucking tomb to be available

thanks game and fuck you

your fault for not having dice to re-roll

true unadulterated autism

just use a notepad and a pen bro

Final “puzzle.”

claim the throne

draft eight blue rooms in a row

fill the watering can in the still in the trading post behind the wall near the dynamite

coat check watering can

get shrine

get monk blessing

get secret passage

end day in secret passage

get watering can back

draft secret passage outside

use watering can in outside secret passage to reveal blue book on the shelf

pull book to reveal blue holly door

open door at the other end of secret room to draft a beta version of the manor where everything is blue except for some lanterns

Follow a color sequence path through rooms based on being able to recognize what rooms are what based on their model alone to reach a beta version of room 46 that contains an even older will that bequeaths the manor to whoever holds it and a “good job”

all this for extra lore on baby's first worldbuilding project

Explain what you think I got wrong, so I can better make fun of you.

absolutely not

drafting the manor exactly like the beta turns it into a giant robot that you storm the rednigger capital with to reclaim your country

Even that would be underwhelming for all the bullshit you’d endure to get to that point.

Quality over quantity.

Kys

RNG puzzle shitfest

Nah

I'm talking about 0303 in the office, you fucking moron. Not the paintings in the drawing room.

Count the busts of the count

NO NOT THAT ONE, NOT THE BIGGERINO ONE, REEEEEEEEE

What do you mean why not SHUTUP

Because the dev posts these threads

he thinks there's quality discussion in 10 replies threads

I just read march and bruteforced that shit kek what a stupid puzzle

Too exaggerated. Learn subtlety.

the count is the dude with the spikey heihachi hair, not the baron. you can see a labeled bust of him the foyer. theres only 3 busts of the count.

No. There're four. Three small and one big. You count three small Count Gates.

They know that.
I'm filtering these threads for a while. Tired of third-worlders acting like little kids.

Every puzzle in this shit game:

How'd you find the solution?

Another room told me.
Games so far up its own ass it has to open its mouth to see.

I had fun mapping the maze and doing all the boxes, scratched the dungeon crawling itch
however after I was done it was ~6 in the morning, I read that stupid hewam blest line, threw up my hands and just looked up what I had to do because I wasn't ready to deal with another "tor lor" situation

that's kind of the games biggest problem imo, the tedium coupled with certain things not being very well thought out
one or the other's fine, but after 5 hours of meandering my brain's not in a state where it can parse your moon logic anymore

I don't think the guy I replied to meant any ill will. I was just going "Um, ackchyually..." at him.

let him throw his tantrum

It's an aggressive waste of time.

Was anybody else disappointed that you never went to the locations Alzara prophesied?

You sound personally butthurt at someone mocking a baby puzzle in a game.

It's better than Outer Wilds too.

not really

How wrong an opinion can be.

The Zoltar sequences were far more exciting than the game actually was. Like the underground area was cool but the actual story and the contents of the red letters were complete dogshit.

Wait so who did the tunnels below the mountain belong to?
I remember finding some miner's notes to the effect of "is this what I think it is?" but it never got expanded upon.

the game would have been better if it had horror aspects to it

that aljazeera broadcast about somebody watching you was genuinely kind of unnerving

clean it up, babbage!

babbage.jpg - 1920x1080, 340.52K

kek is that the lab experiment?

we love neets here

There are almost no puzzles in blue prince so no
