Eh not really, Platinum has a very specific animation style and visual signature that you can spot from any distance.
I don’t know how to describe it but it just feels like Plat game, it’s very “lean” in a way.
I really thought it was implied man, this isn’t their first rodeo with an IP and I could see TN passing off a new entry to feed fans while working on like 3 projects at once(2 now after prism got released). I also don’t get what exactly they’d share? Like is TN gonna do bosses and they’ll ship that off to Platinum to work around? That’s just not how development works

I recently tried out Blasphemous from that studio and I thought it was kinda bad. Nice aesthetic but clunky combat and platforming. Maybe it gets better as you progress with more skills or something but I put it down after the first few hours. Made me a bit more cautious about Ragebound. I wish metroidvania could be simple again.

I just want the sheer violence and impact of Ninja Gaiden 2, not the "modern" soulless remake that added gay particle effects to every attack and raped the UI. Also, Ryu as the protagonist and the survival of Rachel's character designs, so I'm out of luck.

NG3:RE

Ragebound looks like its going to be quite a bit different than Blasphemous, going by the trailers. I played through the latter, and enjoyed it, and I got the impression that they were going for a 2D Dark Souls. Ragebound looks much more fast paced, and it isn't a Metroidvania, so I have hopes that it's in good hands.

I will still defend 3re, I enjoy it but it's no excuse for vanilla 3 being released in the state it was in.
I hope they don't overdo parrying as a mechanic and just leave it as a powerful but by no means central tool a la Royal guard in DMC. Steel on bone is a better counter mechanic than the wave of piss Sekiro sprayed on the industry.

I haven't really had any ever since they started revealing more and more about the game. It's an outsourced project handled by people who clearly don't understand Ninja Gaiden in the slightest. There was one post where they said something like, "be ready to fight a ton of enemies," but the clip only showed about eight; three of which were flying enemies who pose seem to pose no threat.

There are so many other things they've shown that I don't really like, too: Perfect "Blocking", slow enemies, giant empty arenas, Platinum's classic time-wasting sections, and more. It's just hard to be excited for this game when it's clearly going to be worse than NG1–3.

I'm much more excited for Ragebound. That game already looks far better than NG4.

My favorite thing about 2 aside from the dismemberment mechanic is reading the dead jobber ninja diaries, they were funny.

I thought some of them were actually kind of sad. Like, some of the Black Spider Ninjas are actually afraid of the Fiends and don't want to work with them and the such.

The jobber diaries in 1 are much better written, and they all form a cohesive story that lead up to the dead ninja giving you the key
In 2 they mostly felt random, since the Black Spider Clan is already represented by Genshin and you don't have any contact with the rank and file beyond chopping them to bits
