Cyberpunk 2077 had a title drop in October 2012 (i swear the Personal responsibility teaser was before that with a more basic title) from then to release was about 8 years. So no Witcher 4 till 2032

Regardless, 3 (especially with the last dlc) ended everything so well and with such finality there's nothing else to be gotten out of the series. No loose ends or dangling plot threads, every narrative arc reaching a satisfying conclusion. There's just nothing left.

It was Geralt's story. The whole point of the Witcher is that it was a visual novel, every single game. Ciri is not a good protagonist to continue that novel. They should have does Vesemir in his youth or a player Witcher but oh well.

Ciri was just bearable when she was a side character, I cant imagine how intolerable a game with her as the MC would be.

I'm not super attached to Geralt, but yeah. I gotta admit, I also just don't want to play a game with Ciri as MC. She's fine as a flashback character, but not a main. Female MC is fine, but Ciri just isn't a good or interesting fit.
If they had to drop Geralt though, I would've rathered they picked up a story from someone from a different Witcher school. Crane or Griffin maybe.

2. CDPR has been on the decline since W3. The chances of this being good are zero.
