The portal platform has a thruster, we can assume it stays at speed. The cube has no way to accelerate, meaning all the speed came from the initial launch, and it is now subject to effectively 200 km/h air pressure and will decelerate as it travels. It will never be able to reach the other side of the portal.

If we think of how the engine handles portals then the moment the cube comes in contact with portal_brush_entity or whatever, it gets bumped up in velocity for no reason because the claim in the game dialogue that the portals don't affect your speed is objectively a lie on the game engine level. Going through or even standing near a portal as it opens increases your speed for a short moment
