Why are katanas so strong in video games? Just look at Elden Ring or DMC V

Oftrn times its because either Japanese made the game or weebs did and they believe that nihon steel is superior.

Not as ridiculous as how much damage any melee weapon does compared to a basic pistol.

boring shounen manga about anything but what it was actually meant to be about (blacksmithing)

author also gets bored and decides to have this girl raped by the big bad

goes down as well as you'd expect with fans

author retcons it after the backlash

says the big bad actually has no dick, so there was no insertion

manga dies painful death

author never seen again

good times

Name?

Boku no Pico

Cool looking weapon

it's folded over several thousand ti-ACK!

But this could actually happen though?

In anime sure

weeb power fantasy

because they run off magic
in a fight without magic they get smashed to death

lold

japanese game

japanese weapon is good

is this really that hard to grasp

ER’s katanas are a bit overrated when straight swords have square off which does more stance damage and has faster attacks. Moonveil and Nagakiba are outliers I guess but even then, Sword of Night and Flame shits on both.

lol there's an edited version of this clip where the blade snap in half

I'm... STEVE

Katana just look really cool

In the show normal swords are cast in molds and the katana was properly forged and imbued with magic so yeah, a magical katana probably could cut through a shit molded sword. Kind of like when people would buy those cheap ass swords from the home shopping network and the thing would snap in half on a water bottle because it was nothing more than cheap sheet metal.

there are actual tool steel or even tougher steel katanas that can damage other swords without chipping

post it

nihon steel is not superior but their sword making technique makes it superior

That japanese steel folded 1000 and 1 times.

haven't you ever been in a knife fight in real life? thinner blades are denser and can cut through broader blades effortlessly.

haven't you ever been in a knife fight in real life?

kek

This shit has me in tears lmao

Two continents and millennia of experience working metal

Manipulate the carbon content of steel to make flexible swords and armor that can deflects small bullets

"Yeah but the japs fold their steel"

Not to salivate over katana but that looks dull. Can't even see the white.

haven't you ever been in a knife fight in real life?

I'm not British so no

no?
why the fuck would i

Gary

I like rapiers

the true chuunicore weapon

It's a stamped chinese display piece, what do you expect?

Because they are superior to everything.

Because they are superior to everythi- STOP! STOP POKING ME FROM AFAR, IT'S UNFAIR!

Thinking about it, developing better weapons was a unnecessary when we can just throw big rocks.
Everything past that is just for fun.

At the time armor was able to mitigate the damage so the only choice was to get close, that and training a full squad of competent archers was more problem than worth with all the money needed for that unlike throwing some peasant boy with a stick

manga

it is a light novel

developing better weapons was a unnecessary when we can just throw big rocks.

there's an edited version

You replying to it.

not him using the temu katana like it's a full tang sword LMAO

lold

regular human strength

nigga, this is clearly supposed to be a superhuman feat. goddamn i miss Mythbusters. remember when they tried curving bullets cause of that movie, and they built a goddamn hydraulic arm to swing the gun at superhuman speeds while firing? that's what we need here. it doesn't surprise me a regular person can't do this, but i wanna see what kinda freak combination of contraption and blade condition *can* make it happen. lol

Skill issue.
