Sequel is about him figuring out that Maelle is torturing Verso and getting her out of the Canvas right ?
Sequel is about him figuring out that Maelle is torturing Verso and getting her out of the Canvas right ?
I hope Sandfall does something like Xenoblade where all the games are only barely connected. I expect the next game to be about the writers though, Je’RPG Alan Wake would be kino
Sequel is about him being a Writer. Gustave's painted world appearance was based on the Writer that tricked Alicia.
plot twist that Gustave is actually an amalgamation of both Renoir and Verso. Gustave looks like a young Renoir with the personality of real life Verso created by Clea.
We need an expansion (not DLC, since this game is inspire by older ones) for the third ending.
painted Alicia and Gustave adventure in the Canvas battling leftover Nevrons to reach real Alicia
awkwardly throwing rocks together
helping him with his inventions
Teaches him painting
writing and reading each others journals
giving Painted Alicia a real big brother experience
Gustave still chooses to save Maelle in the end
Prequel about the Renoir
30 hour jrpg
Fuck off and do more work on your game.
Isn’t painted Alicia gone ?
Her chroma is still in the canvas.
Where I thought she disappeared
I'd play it.
looks like young Renoir with personality of Verso
seduces Aline and helps her with her grief, allowing for the continued existence of the canvas without her losing herself in it
bravo France
It NEEDS to be bloated and cram packed with a thousand repetitive dungeons like my gay ass little animu games because- it just does, ok!!
Lame as fuck, bro. Go preach that shit somewhere else.
He'll build a keytar so that Verso can be forced to play the piano no matter where he goes.
I wonder which will Maelicia choose, Gustave or Verso if they want to kill each other?
either way, Gustave is gonna be pretty pissed when he finds out Verso vandalized all his swords
Damn. That's actually a good one.
if theres a sequel ,which i doubt, it wouldnt be in the same canvas that would be ass
He thinks Alicia's the true ending
Sequel is about Clea because best girl
I didn't know Anon Babble loved the idea of race traitors so much.
Verso's ending is the canon ending
How else will we get Painters vs Writers kino?
Clea goes to fight Writers on her own.
In both endings Alicia dies, in canon one from huffing paint in retarded one she kills herself shortly after.
There's no story to be made there. The only story inside the painting that might happen is Fracture DLC. We get to see the world before the Fracture and during the chaos of the Fracture.
The Painted World, assuming you chose the Maelle ending is stagnant, the Nevrons are mostly wiped out and Maelle is the most powerful being by far. There isn't a lot of content to be made inside the Painting anymore
The sequel will be from someone in the writter's side pov, and we will experience Clea doing war crimes of the likes to put the greatest dictators in history to shame.
Did anyone else feel like the ending choice was a media literacy test?
The whole game is telling you that although the painted world is not real, the effects on the people in the real world are very real. Verso says that Alicia is maelle in the real world too. The experiences she had will make her able to grow than if she had not entered the canvas at all. Verso had lived 100 years at that point and didn't want it anymore, maelle making that choice is akin to just restarting the cycle and dooming her to die in the painting. Ultimately the beings in the painted world don't matter beyond their impact on those outside of it.
implying the sequel won't be a survival city builder about reclaiming the rest of the canvas world
The game Frostpunk 2 wishes it could be.
I hope they don't do a Writer POV. Just let the Writers be the evil faggots that started the war because they hated the Painters. I would hate it if they try to justify the Writers burning Alicia with some "actually the Painters attacked the Writers first. Both groups are evil"
a media literacy test?
hurr durr not real
Yeah, and you failed.
thinking this game is any indicator of intelligence is retarded
Go watch Asmons reasoning about the ending and learn something retards
No one gives a shit
Asmon
The one who chose Maelle's ending for his own mother?
What does that even mean and how does it make sense
You are too low IQ to understand, even after this post. No wonder you picked the wrong ending for the wrong reasons.
Add 600 hours of "Uguuuwuuu, Onii~chan the wind blew up my skirt!"
It's not a JRPG, it's a classical tragedy about the consequences of being seduced by the illusions of the world, grief foremost.
Vérification non requise
It's a Greek tragedy of vile gods playing with human lives actually.
The lead writer is up to the task for such a story, just based on Painted Alicia's monologue.
uhmm, vegso...
Nigger how is getting his Mom killed the Maelle ending?
she kills herself
fanfiction
Expedition 0 dlc including Clea in Paris and playable painted Renoir
He chose Alicia's ending for her family.
He literally said
if she fucked up herself alone, ok
she's fucking up her whole family and torturing her brother, not ok
plot twist that Gustave is actually an amalgamation of both Renoir and Verso.
here's something that doesn't quite add up. painted renoir and painted verso are already recreated versions of real renoir and real verso by the paintress. so who or what created an idealized, amalgamated version of renoir and verso in gustave? and similarly clea and aline in emma?
Asmongold confirmed he didn't care about his mother on stream
LMAOOOOO
Maelle ending = Maelle stays in the canvas happy but dies.
Asmongold mother = died happy smoking her last blunt.
No, we'll get a DLC with a 3rd ending. Which is only possible if you gather Gustave's Chroma early and revive him Chrono Trigger style, giving you a new option to get Maelle to leave the canvas and come back a healthy amount. Also give Verso a chance to be happy without oblivion or forced servitude as his only options.
it's fine alicia you can stay
as long as you exit for a nice healthy meal once in a while
Verso obviously. "Maelicia" is really just Alicia after all.
I'd love to see Gustave dropping some seething JRPG protag lines as Renoir until he drives it in Renoir's head that genociding these people is wrong. I wonder what approach he would have to convince Aline, maybe the Gustave ending has them recruiting PRenoir as well and that seals the deal to get Aline off the Canvas, and just hop on and off alongside the rest of the family.
I felt it was a metanarrative about moving on from a fantasy distraction such as the game itself. I half expected the Maelle ending to be required for NG+
i am confused by the time flow in this game. maelle is what 16 irl and also spent 16 years "mentally" growing up in the painting? surely that fucks you up
No, we'll get a DLC with a 3rd ending.
We won't, if you've watched his interviews he's extremely confident in his endings and the discussion they generate.
This isn't a nier case where the final ending didn't make it due to budget constraints, this is the whole story.
People are just coping when it's obvious that Verso's ending is canon. Sequel will be about the painters vs. writers war.
I wonder what approach he would have to convince Aline,
There's none. I think you missed the part where Aline is an insane addict who came back to the canvas literal irl minutes after she was booted out of it depsite being basically dying.
Idk man maybe aline's subconcious
surely that fucks you up
Considering the rest of her family are far better painters who have spent centuries in the Canvases it doesn't seem like its a big deal.
Everything about her having lived two lives comes from the perspective of painted people who think they are real.
Maybe if PRenoir joins in though. It's evident that the first one that needs to be kicked out of the Canvas is Renoir, so Painted Renoir could join if that approach is taken. Aline isn't gonna send a death wave, if she watches the Painted Family all together + Alicia maybe she could see reason. She wouldn't have the excuse that this is Renoir "playing tricks", since he got booted out of the Canvas.
Time in the canvas is much slower. From what I can gather, 1 year inside is roughly 1 day outside.
If this black dude can goon alone for 23 years and stay normal, Maelle can do 16 years in the canvas with an entire family around her.
Maelle unlike the others got repainted and memory wiped. It's not even nearly the same optic.
Yeah thats why she wont willingly leave
Maybe but we have no way of knowing if that is a rare or unique thing. Clea doesn't seem all that concerned when she sees it happening but being unbothered is also kinda her thing.
Personally I think everything in act 3 points to "Maelle" really just being Alicia now.
surely sequel is about pRenoir coming back and getting his vengeance against Paintniggers right??
I think painter vs writers conflict was just background lore building and no game will explore it. They will just do their own thing and make another game from scratch.
Maelle got repainted and memory wiped.
marginal point, but the repainting suppressed her memories. it did not wipe them.
Paintnoir has a 100 more reasons than Verso to want to off himself
still persists
Renoir is the only good member of that dogshit family
Verso got upset over his girlfriend he had to kill, please understand
The fuck did painted alicia do to you?
doesnt the beggining sound like to zanarkand?
youtube.com
Renoir is the only good member of that dogshit family
Clea exists though???
Yea, serves Square right.
The amount of plagiarism that Nobuo Uematsu gets away with is borderline criminal.
it does, I always think it's to zanarkand during the game
it's beatiful too
If you think that's what the game is telling you it is a literacy test and you failed it.
Wait, did he plagiarise shit?
Personally I think everything in act 3 points to "Maelle" really just being Alicia now.
I don't think that's the case, it's her two lives merging that makes it seem that way. She wouldn't have asked about Gustave or revived him if she didn't care for him. Yes, Verso let Gustave die, but she has no reason to go apeshit over it because:
1. She sees Verso as her brother who got taken away too early as well.
2. Now as a Paintress she knows she csm bring Gustave back.
It's like how characters in Dragon Ball are kind of desensitized to death, if they know the can fix it there's no reason to care for it too much. Goku has gone as far as telling Gohan that nuking the planet is no biggie since they can Dragon Ball it back.
I never did the sidequest so yes she fucking is
if she watches the Painted Family all together + Alicia maybe she could see reason
No? you'd be reinforcing her delusions that she can keep her fake family.
I actually thought we were gonna get some time travel shenanigans before the actual reveal. Gustave is young Renoir, Verso is middle aged Renoir and Renoir is old Renoir
Together AGAINST her.
Real Renoir spends most of the game as a Resident Evil character. Painted Renoir is the one with the aura
youtube.com
I was exaggerating but his music inspirations are not subtle at all.
It's very clearly an hommage. Lorien is a JRPGnigger too, you know?
Gustave wouldn't give a shit If he knew half the things Verso did. Also at best we're getting extra levels to the endless tower and the ability to use Gustave in NG+ with his skill tree unlocked, but it has no impact on story.
I'm sure there's a little Maelle in there but I see it as more like shes attached to characters in a story rather than sees them as peers and equals like Maelle did in Act 1. Obviously her entire perspective has changed and shes essentially a god so their mortality isn't an issue anymore but she also sees herself as a higher being now.
The fact that Lumiere is still a shithole years after she "won" in her ending is a glaring example of the fact that she isn't Maelle anymore. Maelle would have fixed the city full stop, Alicia cares less about that and more about escaping from the "real" world. I feel like the Alicia motivations are much stronger in the character for the final act.
This would be really smart and cool with the ending. Kinda sad they didn't do it. The metaphor with staying in games too long and not deleting your old save files to spend time with your selfmade characters is well presented.
I don't think anyone would come unchanged from the newfound perspective that they got the power to make any person they know immortal, can bring anyone back from the dead, and can remake people who annoy you into different people.
She doesn't care anon, she's crazy.
Its undeniable she changed the argument is how much of Maelle is still there. She says to Verso its 50/50 and I just don't think that is true.
That's what she wants to think, but you can tell the first thing she thought when Verso "died" in her ending is how to rebuild him.
She says to Verso its 50/50 and I just don't think that is true.
it was probably 50/50 at that moment since she just woke up.
But she's probably 100% Alicia by the "bad" ending.
This is the first new game I’ve played in a year or two. It’s good. I’m considering switching to hard mode because the current difficulty isn’t pushing me very hard.
Yeah that is probably a more accurate interpretation.
NG+
nude mods w/ bush installed
call me maelle cause im never leaving
it's funny that verso just looted gustave's dead body and just casually strolls into camp wearing his pictos
its really is. immediately destroys all cope that hes coming back when you see the new guy has all his weapons and outfits
Chad takes what he wants from sub5s
Gustave dies then he slots in in the same fucking cutscene, it's hilarious.
Renoir's bottom lip shakes a bit when he accepts he needs to lose his son to save him
Holy kino...
B-but Anon Babble told me that UE5 is slop and faces are soulless? H-how can this be...
think of how many painting-years maelle is gonna get to spend sucking tits once she starts painting her own canvas
