I would occasionally play support in various games, and the reason is to stop my retarded solo queue teammates from throwing the game long enough to win.

I play Medic if I want to do a funny with a gibus Pyro or something. I'll also play him to heal a gibus Heavy sometimes just so that he can have a good time. The class is fun as long as you're dicking around.

I like winning. The team with a competent medic almost always beats the team with no medic or a bad one. My preferred role actually is greedy DPS and I play a lot of that role in MOBAs but in hero shooters specifically, the impact of healer/support far eclipses every other role.

people who have to wrangle in their retarded insta-lock DPS teammates and actually care about playing the game as a hero-shooter. tanks and healers are the actual heroes and unless you play as a Master or above level as DPS, you should swap off. If I see my pub team pick Widow or Hanzo, they have 3 minutes to prove themselves and if they're dogshit (i.e 95% of the time), I know to mentally check out and not care about the outcome of the game.

Nowaday's Games a bigger problem with Teamplay than they ever had.

Their market are overcompetitive ADHD kids who are incapable of doing something for others if it doesn't benefit themselves first.
All the healers are made into combat roles with healing a sideplay, all gimmick users want to have the same kill ratio as the tank, the scout-type from TF2 is basically just trading armor for speed and it's not like map need scouting, and stealth user are also about killing as much as tank, just with trickier methods.

Modern Matchmaking make it worse. You'll rarely be paired with the same person and it aim for 50% win/loss.
So you never get to learn from losing and tried differently because the team is completely different.
And you never get to learn from winning because the matchmaker put you against retards and you've got paired with a pro-player who can replace dozens and it was supposed to be a forced loss match for him.
