Something I've thought about since Chapter 2 came out is why are "You Can Always Come Home" and "Before The Story" both repeated on the Chapter 2 OST but no other Chapter 1 songs are? Is there some deeper meaning to their inclusion?

Given Kris has been seen as a parallel to both Frisk and Chara, the only logical conclusion is Double Kris.
You play as the body. The original SOUL was discarded to make room for the one you play as, and since they were both discarded together, SOUL Kris uses the vessel.
This also allows Kris to fulfill a Flowey role, manipulating things from the shadows, whether as The Knight or when the body rebels against you.

White Dog Gaster has already cemented himself as a vital figure in the narrative because he literally railroads you into going to the library with an impossible traffic jam, full of cars honking Undertale songs, that no one questions, and is an incident that's never brought up afterwards.
