They will continue to healthy exist as a niche genre, same as always. At worst larger devs like Capcom or Arcsys might push production costs too high and fuck themselves over, but the genre as a whole will be fine. Stop obsessing over trying to homogenize fucking everything into formless slop.

Maybe start by making them actually fucking accessable to newcomers. Nobody wants to sink in hundreds of hours just to compete at even the lowest level. DBFZ does this well by having auto-combos, which are a great help in making less skilled players feel not completely helpless.

You press autocombos by mashing one button, boom done. That took all of 20 seconds.
I specified DBFZ as an example of a game that IS welcoming to newcomers for that exact reason. Please get some reading comprehension. Other games like Type Lumina or Tekken are complete shit for the reasons I listed.

Type Lumina also has a gazillion other things you have to keep track of at any given moment, it's why the game has nearly 100 tutorials. DBFZ even at it's highest skill level is simple by fighting game standards.

Just admit no amount of casualization will be enough and you just want to win with no effort. Even in the most bare bones dumbed down game the better player that puts in real effort will push your shit in.
