Not going to give my final verdict because I'm only 12 hours in but it's definitely going to wind up somewhere between "amazing" and "best JRPG ever"
There is no genuine dislike for the game for anyone who is a fan of the genre.
Presentation is excellent, gameplay is excellent, ability to make builds/combos is excellent, having a world map in 2025 is based.
The world is varied, beautiful, and interesting.
Not sure how I feel about the story but I don't hate any of the characters which is fresh.
My only gripe is the difficulty. Expeditioner is too easy and Extreme is kinda bullshit.

Does the game get harder at all? I'm at the end of Act 2 and Verso kills regular enemies in his first turn, and the last couple bosses I've been able to beat in 2 turns, don't even have to dodge or parry anymore.

Charm never gets used outside of Sierene's section, but Inverted becomes more common, so Lune's Typhoon isn't as broken. Boss health bars get bigger and you'll need to adapt your builds toward Agility and enemies with harder combos appear in the story quests. The difficult and engaging parts of the gameplay are reserved for optional content. Some of this optional content also guards story content. For example, the third axon and the fate of pAlicia. Clea and her boyfriend gated behind the trial tower. Stuff like that.
