The premise and outline of the story is fine and is interesting but the delivery towards the end is rushed and muddled and dogshit. They needed to do an entire act when you wake up as Alisia in reality, even if there wasn't combat, just to show us at least something of what the real world even is and why we should care about it. Show us the real Verso and Aline in the past and the conflict of the world. We needed some kind of context and time spent at bare minimum to even care about what's going on with the real family. As-is the game just ends with unimpactful exposition regarding characters that we spend comparatively zero time knowing let alone growing with. It's framed in a way like we're supposed to feel sorry for Aline but we never even get to actually spend time with her or get any idea of her actual character or arc, we're just told about her sad story, not even witness to it, and that is the emotional crescendo of the finale.
