Playing PS2 games natively but upscaled to 1080 or even 720 looks like shit on a huge flatscreen TV, but if you just sit 15 feet away it ends up looking great.

I played most of the games back when CRTs were the only option. Replaying most of them on a flatscreen doesn't change much.

That's a common problem with PS2s, especially slims.
It's not hard to find decently priced PS2s on ebay that have been internally cleaned and had their disc readers replaced, I had to get one a few months ago and it was 50 bucks for just the console, no cords or controllers but I already had multiples of all that.

They should make a CRT handheld for memes that allows streaming from a PC for a more accurate gameplay feeling of course locking the frames to 24fps or something.
