I dropped IP because hatte is better. IP requires you to run SP and/or Unicorn, Goddess or Avramax. An IP board is really weak to Dark Ruler whereas if you use Hatte, you can summon azurune after a ruler drop to at least have another interaction alongside smashers. Hatte also provides you defense against Tenpai if you happen to see it, you pop Sangen Summoning while hopefully Hatte survives long enough so you don't die to the pop from Transcend Dragion.
I've been using Accesscode because you technically don't need to use a Link, it's just a 2300 who can banish itself for a pop, but it's not impactful enough like that otherwise, and I need more interactions going 1st.

There's nothing confusing about pendulum mechanics anon: cards have 2 modes, spell mode and monster mode. Scales just indicate which range of levels you can summon with a pendulum summon (if the scales are 3 and 4 you can't summon anything because there's no range in between) They would normally go from the field to the extra deck face-up and from there you can only summon them back to the Extra Monster Zone or to Linked zones (this was a nerf). That's about it.

Because pendulum decks are mostly self contained, most of this poses no real issue

DDD is the one pendulum deck that never cared about being pendulum much it just abused the mechanic. It has always had its proper extra deck since the beginning so making new support that pushes that around is good.

Yuya's deck never had an actual polished extra deck. The structure decks that pushed multiple summon types weren't even meant for you to not cheat stuff around. So it naturally shaped as a good stuff generic extra deck since its own was ok at best (vortex negation isn't good enough). Since Yuya and Dennis' cards could blend perfectly with the generic pendulum aid deck (dracoslayer) things just rolled from there.

You see it fairly consistently in 60 card decks, typically Branded but also certain Grass sloppa.
Against these decks you make Carrot because you can expect to see shit like Grass, Talents, Thrust, brafu etc. which is why they run dark ruler. But unlike Droplet, you can't dodge Dark Ruler with Smashers and you basically lose the game if they drop it.

I don't agree. Spright has trouble against board breaker spam. Most of the Spright cards are geared towards monster interactions (Sprind, SP, IP, Red) with Carrot as your only defense against spells unless you are using Arc Light.
Tenpai is easy to beat engine vs engine, everyone knows this. Konami knows this. This is why Sangen exists.

Unlocked Zoodiac with rat at 3 would make Ryzeal super much better because there's no lock and you'd end up Rank 4 plays anyways. Even with Rat at 2 but with 3 Barrage you get to make a very cool boards. When they were fullpower years ago, their were sitting on quick effect removal that could inflate its own attack value a lot and also banish stuff. They could search whatever part you needed super fast because Bull is a card of all time. Sure they can be easier to stop with today's handtraps but still it is to easy to recover from basically anything thrown at it.

I still open double Super Poly/Droplet + Ash/Maxx C with Scream/Tear Traps/Trivkarma, or the Ishizu Shufflers, and Engraver go gets negated if I go first.

The only times I get a decent going first hand, the other guy either scoops, drops Maxx C/Fuwaloss, or opens 3 Handtrap including a Bystial.

I don't know how things are now, but for a time in Duel Links you could summon Overlord basically for free through a Skill and then just OTK. It was a really popular "deck" for a while.

Its fine, but has the same weaknesses as all the other go 1st or lose combo decks.

Norden is really just that strong man. Once it lands either from breaking the board with super poly or with instant fusion it can keep making plays on its own. It is a combo that gives you a lot fo gains. I can see how objectively they keep that locked. Rank 4 just got better over time.

DDD always had some crazy lines for most situations, support give the much needed starters and few couple of extenders, not mention a link 3 that worth shit.

At the very least the hands are definitely way more consistent and it come prebuilt to deal with Nibiru so the opponent has to commit to handtrapping you earlier which can be played around since the deck has such output now. But that aside it being able to deal with the turn 0 plays that dominate the current meta is a different thing because it can't readily incorporate other themes into itself which was hte selling point of stuff like K9 and Dracotail or even Yummy and Vanquish Souls K9 is just that fast and good.

The majority of decks that got legacy support didn't become good enough to be relevant. They just got more options to laugh at the handtraps that would blow them out before. What those decks struggled with was newer engines, not handtraps.
Blue-Eyes is probably the exception but it barely uses any of the old Blue-Eyes cards. Sage, True Light and vanilla BEWD. That's it.

D/D stopped being as generic as it was once Gilgamesh came into the picture and the new support doubles down on that. But on the other hand you have pretty nasty in house plays. Some more effective than others. On paper D/D is one such deck that has not one but 2 different cards that can completely shut down the game for the opponent and one of them does it on 3 different ways. If sloppa proves to be too good, it being hit just makes it better but it is never that simple.

Blue-Eyes got a tailor made engine that meet all of its needs and more in Primite just like Yubel worked perfectly with the Unchained stuff and more. Legacy decks printed to work with modern engines just perform fine. D/D got its own modern engines because it has like 3 ways to lock itself, it is really that harsh.

It isn't a lost cause. Sky Striker can get away vs the current meta so it proves that strong plays of your own can just work fine too, just not take over stats.

IRL card games you've got plenty of options but digitally it's just master duel, phone pokemon and waiting for shadowverse to come and go.

Blue-Eyes doesn't play anything like it used to, not that Blue-Eyes had much of a playstyle to begin with.
It is conceptually similar to Voiceless Voice and Centurion in that it has a billion extenders to tunnel into a single play, but in Blue-Eyes case that play is actually the worst variant of the deck. Because of Drillbeam you can just play Blue-Eyes as a stun deck and that's the most consistent and powerful variant.

Legacy decks printed to work with modern engines just perform fine

Blue-Eyes and Orcust are the only decks with tops post support and it's hard to tell if that's because the decks were just popular or if they were actually good.
In MD Blue-Eyes does well because stun is very strong in a bo1. Orcust probably less good because Bystials are very common to counter Fiendsmith.

The Original Vanguard anime really took a lot of concepts that nobody was using for card game anime and implemented them casually: took the real life store/tournament narratives from beyblade and implemented them for the anime. The fantasy elements were larguely a mystery and wasn't so intrusive related to the actual realistic tournament action, the cast grew older, the card game was depicted properly. I could go on but it was the perfect balance of elements and the cast itself wasn't bad either.
