Why did Windows 10 get so much hate in 2015?

Why did Windows 10 get so much hate in 2015?

8-Start1.png - 2846x1600, 3.27M

Did it? It was seen as a return to form after the disaster that was 8.

They brought back the start menu, de-emphasized store apps overall, and the initial 1507 release even defaulted to the old taskbar layout instead of the fatfinger touchscreen taskbar.

The current windows gets hate by linux users, mac users, and tech illiterate people. They ragebait and yell very loud about non issues or easily fixed issues. Usually almost no real issues exist but they make them exist.

Everyone else just uses W11 (whatever is current) and spends the 5 minutes changing it the way they need. Then using it without ever even remembering you are on 'the newest OS'.

It was super slow and buggy for me. Didn't get better until a few feature updates later.

nigga look at the start menu
it was way better than 8 but they still did mobile shit

The last good Windows was 98SE. If it's not built atop DOS, it's not "real" Windows. Miss me with everything past 2000. And fuck Windows Me as well for being a downgraded version of 98 with half of its "NEW FEATURES" being shit you could already do for free in 98.

Why did Windows 10 get so much hate in 2015?

Because of Gaben, he was so nervous that windows store could become and Apple Store with locked apps so he bashed it for no reason. Nobody remember this now but win 10 was like a multiplatform thing with UWP a new future, it was also launched with Groove and other services copypasted from Apple

Mostly due to the extremely aggressive attempts from MS to force-install it onto people's PCs and also due to the increase in telemetry.

NT was such a massive improvement, not needing to reboot every 5 hours.

NT kernel is still literally lightyears ahead of any other OS and microsoft is basically just abusing that fact to shove their AI crap down your throat.

2000 was the best one because all the consoomer crap in XP was just bloat that made the OS harder to use.

It's right there in your screenshot, dude...

start menu ads were added later
classic bait and switch move

Anon Babble - Video Games

windows 10 is great.

Because of the huge shitstorm of computers updating to Windows 10 without even asking the users? Which fucked with businesses, hospitals, got shitloads of peoples computers fucked and files lost

NT kernel is still literally lightyears ahead of any other OS and microsoft is basically just abusing that fact to shove their AI crap down your throat.

NT kernel is crap that loses to Linux in every workload and developing drivers for this turd is so difficult so small companies are using basically rootkit to access their hardware rather than writing proper device driver with userspace interface (rgb manufacturers and winring0)

still suffers from dll hell so much that people have given up on regular application packages and are now shipping entire virtual machines

Windows 10 never got hate. Windows 8 that preceded it got tons of well-deserved hate because it was a tablet-first OS released for PC and the design wasn't even adapted for the desktop

Windows 8 UI unironically still the most polished one they ever made, and once you get over not having the start menu be a rectangle in the corner, the fullscreen UI is much easier to actually use even with a mouse

I agree it was very polished (a level of polish Microsoft cannot hope to reach today) but the information density was way too low for a desktop computer

win-8-ui.jpg - 768x432, 54.71K

It did get hate for the goddamn GUI but other than that not much as 8 did. The reason they skipped the number 9 is because 9 is a perfect number in Jewish gematria.

WIN 1.01

What will you play? Oregon Trail?

nice try microsoft, I am not installing your spyware

This has nothing to do with the kernel

I think I will play a nice strategy game today

I hate it because it's not windows 7

the solution has to do with the unique virtualization options offered by the kernel
whatever you want to call it, the entire NT system is just better

Windows 10 is so clearly a shitheap of garbocode. They couldn't even figure out how to integrate the original Control Panel going back decades with their new Setting menu. You just know some bigwig said it would be too difficult for the multibillion dollar corporation with 100,000 employees to do, so they didn't do it. Thanks to that, every Windows 10 user gets inconvenienced every time they need to fiddle with some dumbass setting, like Microsoft wanted us all to experience some cosmic fuck-you courtesy of Satya Nadella himself.

I switched over to fedora linux and have based 0 compatibility issues since its made for playback and appimages.

Telemetry shit that you still can't disable without using Enterprise or Education.

what was that Anon Babble post with some micropajeet explaining how hard it was to add a setting to the control panel?

no

liar

this

10 is still shit, they may have made it a slight bit better than initially but it's worse than 7 and XP and maybe is on par with 8.1.

GUI is shit
bloated (huur just le unbloat)
games that worked perfectly on 7 and before sometimes are broken
most spyware and telemetry up the ass
FORCED UPDATES (just le use le LTSC)

excuses upon excuses

Because it was and still is shit and had to use literal malware tactics to trick people into it. It only seems better right now because W11 is even worse.

The universe in just a CD?! WOW! This is my No Man's Sky.

the solution has to do with the unique virtualization options offered by the kernel

Yes, containers on Linux are using namespaces which are kernel feature where there's no analog on NT. Windows niggers always shipping all their dependencies next to executable?
As of virtualization Linux had KVM for ages which was widely used while Windows only added Windows Hypervisor Platform in 2018, which is still barely used and where it used it works like crap (QEMU).

whatever you want to call it, the entire NT system is just better

Better for what? Windows only better for niggers and women because it's the only system accessible to them. When CPU, Memory and I/O performance are taken in consideration people chose Linux or Unix systems.

say virtualization

immediately thinks of emulation

nigger cattle

Because normalfags were not forced to use it yet so could pretend they were not going to. As soon as it was forced on to normalfags it became "The next good Windows" even though it still had the same problems it always had and always will. Windows 11 will soon be doing the same aand suddenly it "Is actually good. time to upgrade baby duck!".

KVM, WHP

emulation

Retard, you clearly don't know what you're talking about

Why did Windows 10 get so much hate in 2015?

Forced Update

Intrusive ads
Forced updates
Added telemetry
Encouraged Microsoft account integration
OneDrive on by default
Flatshit design
Shit versions of the photo viewer and music player that took minutes to load a single file (most people just installed the old versions from Windows 7 over the top of them)

It's still worse than 7 and they started discontinuing support for 7 anyway.
People definitely still hated 10. When it released there were people insisting that 8.1 was "the good version of Windows" or even that the skipped "Windows 9" would have been the good version.
The truth is that this idea of a "good version" only really started due to to the disconnect between new Windows releases and the development of features for those releases, with most people skipping the "bad version" that typically contains a disproportionate amount of underdeveloped features and praising the "good version" that fixed the problems.
The entire debate has been defunct since 8, because there haven't really been enough competent developers and managers on staff to actually create a functional version of Windows. Windows 10 is barely out of alpha and is already being discontinued.

It's still absolute garbage.
All an OS should do is to allocate hardware resources, provide a layer of abstraction for programs and let me access the file system.
XP was an unstable swiss cheese, vista was shit, 7 was ok with some debloating, 8 wasn't even a desktop OS, 10 went full spyware and bloat. 11 is straight up fucking up things that have been working for decades and at this point i'm sure microsoft is doing it on purpose

vista was shit, 7 was ok with some debloating

every time you say this you out yourself as nigger cattle
the two are virtually identical, with some minor UX improvements in 7 at best

windows 10 is awesome and i'm going to use it forever and ever and ever.

They wanted to make an all in one OS that would cover desktops, laptops, tablets/surfaces, phones. It was a good idea on paper but they didn't even stick to it and Nokia fucking died for this.

I didn't know there was hate, I was glad to jump ship from Windows 8.1

The performance was terrible at first but I gave it a week and it became faster than 8.1

That's hardly on Gaben alone. Everyone, and I mean fucking everyone, with the exception of journos, were collectively shitting all over UWP.
Everyone who wasn't a dev was worried about windows store lockdown; everyone who was a dev was complaining that UWP was fucking dogshit to work with and wanted no part of it.

Debloated W10 is the best

I got forced updates to turn off but I can't figure out how to turn off the nagging

New features that weren't wanted and niche uses that weren't supported. It was the same with 7 and 8 and will definitely continue with 11, but not for me

Thanks.png - 1024x1024, 228.59K

Every version of Windows is trendy to hate among linux fats. Yes, there's always something wrong with it, but at least there's things right with it, which is more than I can say for linux.
Most reasons are shit I don't care about, but I should be outraged because some anon can't make his taskbar pretzel shaped and appear on his knees.
