easy to perform instakill attack, no need to even aim because back hitbox is massive and arbitrary

as a result appeals to people with an 'all or nothing' mentality who perceive anything that is 99% effective as being 0% effective and cry if they're not top scoring

top scoring is easy tho because you get more points for your default killing method than any other class

'all or nothing' mentality also makes them forget they have a gun to such a degree that playing spy with a gun is literally a named and quirky playstyle because of how rarely it's done

Being in the frontlines which is literally where you'll be at all times except the very start of a game in spawn, which is not where 99% of the game takes place, means you're always unsafe
But we don't have a gay cloak or disguise to protect us and a weapon that instakills from short range even if we swing it like a blind rat, we still have to aim, always, and aiming is hard for you because you don't even know where your gun is lodged

I play the rocketman, miss all my shots and spam medic so I get pocketed. Spies can't backstab me if I'm badly rocketjumping everywhere

tfc needs skill, tf2 is more noob friendly and thats not a bad thing

TFC is one of the most godawful experiences I've ever played. Its a game where the only classes that are actually engaging in combat are the Snipers. Everyone else is just mindlessly spamming chokes or trying to bunny hop past everything to get the flag.

In terms of game design though? Spy is one of the most interesting classes in the game in that he works in a disorganised pub environment that tf2 was designed for.
Spy has other problems than that. The guy seriously needs some vertical mobility. It should not be possible for an engineer to just completely shut spy out as a counter by using wrangler to build shit on rooftops and it's ridiculous how easy soldier and demo can shut spy out by jumping onto rooftops as well.

Heavy is one of the easiest classes to aim, though.

Heavy essentially fires 4 bullets each shot so in a way he fires a full auto shotgun although more accurate. That alone makes heavy aim more demanding compared to scout. Tracking is significantly harder compared to firing a single shot.

Rapidfire is easier than single click. Every mistake made with rapidfire is just a tick of damage lost. This is why the sniper's uzi is the "secondary to use when you need easy damage" weapon, and is why heavy is actually considered one of the easiest classes.

Opposite. Single shot weapons are much much easier to hit with because you only need to aim once compared to rapid fire weapons which require to keep your crosshair on at enemy at all times to get same accuracy.

Which again, only amounts to individual ticks of damage loss for every little mistake you make. The cost for missing single fires is far greater hence why they're harder.
