I have been doing a playthrough with necromancy and it appears the corpses you can recruit have a great chance of one-shotting needles if you lock him in a bear trap prior to engaging the fight. Is this intentional or some sort of oversight? Makes encounters with him really easy.

Bear traps break the legs and make the head vulnearable which when hit is basicaly a one shot

Not for needles, bear traps put 400 damage on both legs, which is usually enough to break them. Needles legs are 800hp each so bear trapping him is just a strat to keep him in one place. You also can't 303 off his arms.

I am not sure about that. When I attack with playable characters, the head is usually a miss like you would normally expect. But the corpses seem to always go for it and land hits much more consistently. With them around the engagement is a walk in the park.

The wars were caused by the Kaiser, but the continuous progress of humanity is due to the God of Fear and Hunger forcing humanity to continue forward even through all the man-made horrors and abominable crimes they have committed toward each other. If anything, the machinations of the Kaiser are in accordance to the God of Fear and Hunger's will. The new gods are incapable of fighting against fate. I really can't see Logic being akin to an Ascended God. More a false idol created by Le'garde which would force humanity into further tumultuous, self-destructive war between the false promise of Logic's paradise and the religious fervor that Fear and Hunger provides, or something. If anything, the creation of Logic as a false Ascended God could arguably be interpreted as F&H's equivalent of the rise of communism.

Reila wasn't chosen, she and the NLU (civilian organization against Nazis/Kaiser) created Logic to bring peace to the world via unification. Originally no one was going to be sacrificed to turn Logic on, but Kaiser invaded Prehevil and cut their research time short. Reila bucked up and sacrificed herself, her human body becoming the "motherboard" of Logic and transforming into the goddess we see. She became Logic to stop Legarde (mega Hitler from her PoV) from forcefully becoming Logic.

It's honestly very possible that the entire project was just a means to goad Reila into climbing into Logic so she can ascend.
