The best RPGs of the past decade were all made in Europe

The best RPGs of the past decade were all made in Europe

How did America and Japan let this happen?

Baldur's Gate 3 is the only good rpg there.

Wasteland 3 is a legitimately good game and it's kinda sad how unoticed the game is in general.

Does America release anything besides fps and 40k shit

I thought it was a ragebait, but then I can't think of any great RPG made by americans the last 10 years

Witcher 3 is mediocre, they made the combat even more dogshit than it was in 1 and 2. It's carried entirely by atmosphere, writing and music all of which were better in 1, maybe except music.
Cyberpunk is a 6/10 game. Some decent writing but shit combat.
BG3 is good, but worse than D:OS 1 and 2. And it has shit writing, like all Larian games.

My favourite RPGs of the last decade were Underrail, Divinity: OS 1 (2 is almost better, but it's held back by the horrible armour system), Black Souls 2 and E33.

i didn't even remember playing e33 kek. that's how forgettable that game was

And somehow you’re in every thread saying this. How does it feel to have something you hate and have never played living forever in your head? I’d hate that.

Yeah all time great RPG pantheon worthy.
Oh and also there's Cyperpunk 2077.

That's probably because you did not play it

witcher

troonpunk

if you genuinely believe those are RPGs you're retarded

DA2 better than BG3

You're lying

Divinity: Original Sin, not Dragon Age.

still trying to mix bg3 with good games

Lol
Lmao
Go cry about your new boogeyman name

Witcher 3: spend 100 hours chasing a girl who's probably on a more interesting adventure than you

BG3: gay sex simulator with reddit characters

Cyberpunk has crashed

E33: parry slop that wishes it was a real JRPG

Ciri is such a boring character. I want more monsters and unwashed peasantry, less politicking and high fantasy shit.

still buck broken by bg3

heh

Why do we need to bother coming up with a new pseudonym for you when you've premptively outted yourself?

Wait until you check out all the innovative survival horror games in the last 15 years:

Penumbra series

Amnesia series

Pathologic series

Tension

Nobody Lives Under the Lighthouse

Alien: Isolation

Alan Wake series

SOMA

Signalis

Crow Country

Observer

Darkwood

World of Horror

And so on, and so on... all from Europe. The meme that Japan is good at the genre has been dead for two decades.

BG3 was the W3 of turn-based RPGs.

Post the last 10 WRPGs you played. Now.

Expedition 33 and Cyberpunk are not role playing games.

look at that collection of garbage, good job OP

The Witcher isn't an RPG either.

the best

I always thought this is a far less important than how good MOST titles are. even if you play dozen excellent games in a decade that's still nothing time-wise. what else are you going to play? how's the average game?

Pathfinder Kingmaker (Europe)

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous (Europe)

Cyberpunk 2077 (Europe)

Underrail (Europe)

Disco Elysium (Europe)

Kingdom Come: Deliverance (Europe)

Rogue Trader (Europe)

Baldur's Gate III (Europe)

Expedition 33 (Europe)

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt (Europe)

If I had a sister I'd let her marry you, anon.

Post good games.

True, I was on the fence regarding W3 but in it you have more leeway defining Geralt's character than either of 2077 or 33. But I'm willing to concede that as an RPG it is very, very weak.

A much better example of a western RPG that is actually an RPG is Disco Elysium. You play an established character but can greatly define is strengths, weaknesses and personality.

You should try Colony Ship, Age of Decadence and the Shadowrun series.

Go fuck yourself console loser

I accept your concession.

No go play with your lego controller and let the game auto aim for you

A-are those...a VARIED collection of RPGs all from the CONTINENT of Evrope?! Please FUCK my wife you'll clearly satisfy her far BETTER than I YABBA DABBA COULD.

But Cyberpunk is a terrible RPG. I recently played it and it was a huge disappointment. I felt it was way inferior to The Witcher 3

Still waiting on those "good" RPGs.

Still waiting on console subhumans to stop posting here any time pretending their walking simulator games that play themselves with minimal input from the player are good

If you consider it a novel rather than an RPG it gets a bit better. Just accept that you are on rails and can't affect the world in any way, and then it becomes more like watching a movie than playing a game. Of course, you can't do anything about the garbage story, but at least you aren't deluding yourself.

Are you really afraid of posting games you like? Come on anon, let's see them.

Are you really a console subhuman that plays walking simulator games that gets upset when this is pointed out?

unironic bot itt

I've tried all 4 of those games. Only one I liked was E33. The Cyberpunk DLC looks good but I don't want to have to play a whole shitty campaign just to access it.

Cyberpunk dlc is worse than the base game.

All of these are unironic normalfag slop for retards who don't actually like RPG's and just want to soiface at a "interactive cinematic experience with choices that matter".

Not upset, I'm curious as to what modern RPGs you think are better. From OP's image, Witcher 3 is the oldest, so any games from 2015 and onward.

Cyberpunk 2.0 is worse than the release version

posts every shitty walking sim game he's played in the last 10 years

I was wondering what movie you liked better

uh i don't know, star wars?

They're both garbage. The update didn't fix the story, and nobody played 2077 for the gameplay.

Just saying, they completely ruined a something that was already not good.

Appreciate the feedback. RPG OP didn't list was FFXVI. I really disliked the campaign but gave it a chance with the DLCs and I liked both of those a lot. Based on the trailers I thought Phantom Liberty might have been a simar situation.

2020s have been a disaster for RPGs and i'm still playing RPGs from the 2010s. What a sad state the genre is in.

To me the change didn't even register. I picked the game back up when the DLC was released, and hated every single moment playing through it. It's genuinely remarkable how a video game made me that angry at the developers and writers.

There are no likable characters, you have even less agency than in the base game, you're forced to sit back while others make decisions for you or overrule your decisions, you can't ever call anyone out on their bullshit, you're forced to shove experimental tech in your head AGAIN, and at the end of it all it turns out that you were taken advantage of all along. And at no point in time can you ever kill any of the characters, even at the finish line when the robot bitch admits that she was stringing you along.

It's an utter shit tier story. Beyond irredeemable garbage.

Why did you leave out Nier Automata ?

I played the shit out of the release version so I immediately noticed that like half of the actually interesting skills were missing from the rework. They fundamentally gutted their perk system because they had no idea how to balance it and removed any semblance the game had of being anything but a linear story ride along sim

I haven't played BG3 nor Clair Obscur but the CDPR games sucked.

normie shit
