Character Action thread

DMC Ninja Gaiden Bayonetta etc

Why don't they just make jrpgs with platinum combat

character action

kill yourself

only four out of those 24 already released games are any good

It has to pad the list with 2D platformers and action RPGs, which are completely different genres with a different design philosophy. There is even a fucking roguelike there.

It has to pad the list with re-re-re-re-releases

The absolute state

The best part is that fans of said genre always shit on the games and genres you like.

So the same as every other genre retard?

If your genre is on the same sorry state as the other genres then you have no reason to brag about it.
Also, I just realized one of those games is literally a smartphone game. The absolute state indeed

It's because it's an actual good genre kys brain dead slopper

When is that chink god hand clone coming out?
I forgot the name

Sprit x strike? Or something like that? Pretty sure mightreya is coming soon too.

This attitude is why I'm hesitant to buy NG4.
I feel like I would be helping my enemies.

remember there was a general for action games and there was a tripfag? I think it was before the Anon Babble and Anon Babble split, but there was also a general on Anon Babble later on
does anyone have the vid where reuben langdon gave them a shoutout? that general was pretty helpful to get really good at these games

Enenra isn't coming out this year.

NG4 is going to be shit just like 3.

Is it J-Action or CAG?

Side scroller trash

My favorite character action game is Super Mario Sunshine.

Action Game.

I'm really happy with all the love and dicksucking Ninja Gaiden 2 has been getting lately. That game deserves all the praise it gets.

what's the best musou combat wise, like i wanna play as cute asian girl doing flashy dmc moves

Senran Kagura.

Redpill me on Lost Soul Aside and the anime girl one edging memories

The fans are cancer.

You either play Senran Kagura for cute anime girls like his anon said, or Dynasty Warriors or Sengoku Basara for realistic asians.

I'm playing the Stellar Blade demo right now and the movement pretty much killed all the interest I had on it. The MC moves very slowly and awkwardly, worse than Rachel on Ninja Gaiden Sigma, but your dodge and parry are very clumsy.
Also I just found that the game has a stinger-like move but you need to be completely in neutral to use it; otherwise EVE just does a regular attack; that kills its utility for me.

Shame; I was looking forward to this game after all the praise it got.

Who hurt you?

No, NG2 fans are cool.

Most of these don't belong in the same category as DMC or Bayo. Even Lost Soul Aside is shaping up to be a 1-button combo game.

Stellar Blade feels closer to action RPG with a lot of souls elements (no stamina though) than a stylish action game. Even something like Fate/Samurai Remnant is closer to stylish action, and that's an action rpg with some musou elements.

Shame; I was looking forward to this game after all the praise it got.

You mistakenly assumed Stellar Blade had good gameplay when the only reason it's talked about here is because fat ass and fat tits. Having beaten it recently, the most optimal way to play this game is to just stand there and parry, the enemy AI does everything in its power to lunge or leap towards you if you're not in range.

bunch of mentally ill posers are cool now

posers

No, I’ve actually seen plenty of people either emulating the game, buying an Xbox just to play it, or playing modded Sigma 2, which is good enough. No posers here.

1-button combo game

You need more?

shinobi.jpg - 1024x1024, 205.65K

No More Heroes is so good.

Could we include Nioh/Wo Long/Chaos Fucking in these threads?

I could see Wo Long since it has a very clear parry system and does let you experiment a bit with the movesets and you can do fucking crazy shit

Chaos!/Nioh, not so much since you seem to have less options overall and the enemy won't pose much danger

t.

Speaking of mental illness

Never stops being funny.
Shut up bog.

My issue isn't with the game having RPG elements or not but how the player character handles. I think it handles worse than the Souls clones I've played, which is pretty telling for a game that is intended to be a proper action game.
Coming back to the stinger bitching, DmC: Devil May Cry, which I played earlier this year, had an awkward back->forward->Attack input for its stinger and I fucking flew all the way everywhere through the battlefield with it because you could use it as soon as you could do the input.

Enemies hiding behind doors ambushing you

Heh
Honestly I'm glad there was a demo.

Everyone claimed that it was an excellent action game and the hot girls were a bonus.

Could we include xyz?

Yes.

Just popped in to call you a drooling retard that only listens to some eceleb who's smegma they slurp

SPBP

On the subject of Action RPGs.
Are Vesperia and/or Graces F decent enough to dick around if i want to scratch the itch? I don't have the webm at hand but there were some groovy stuff that you could pull off in those games.

get a new console

boot up NG2 for the first time on said console

no save data

It's that simple.

What are my options for NG on PC?
3 I'm assuming get the version from the trilogy game

I can possibly emulate 2 on the 360 emulator - I can run Tenchu Z just fine so could probably run it but there's also the trilogy one with mods and then the unfuckery of the black 2 version

Try to emulate. If no good then play Master Collection and mod Sigma 2. NG2B is over priced and large install are reasons enough to avoid.

Anon his gameplay self reports his acolyte ways.

What makes 2 on 360 best version?
Does it have any slowdown at all as I dislike character action games at leass than 60fps

Can't explain something with his own words

Can we get someone who isn't a faggot poser to explain?

"Everyone" is a Korean astroturfing campaign.

vesperia is a lot of fun but the game takes a lot longer then it should to (poorly) explain manual cancels which is what lets you massively expand the combo system instantly instead of having to wait 30 hours to unlock all the other cool mechanics

graces F is not what you're looking for, the game has absolutely 0 hitstun which means unlike vesperia you can't make your own combos, you just mash dodge to avoid hits and do your flashy preset strings of moves because literally nothing else will actually combo - it's like playing easy auto in bayonetta/dmc while vesperia is essentially a 2D fighter with the abilty to run around the arena in 3D

As I said, there are a ton of reasons why 2 on the 360 is the best one; so many that you can't possibly go over all of them in a single post. But if you're going to be an obnoxious little bitch about it, you should look it up yourself.

Fascinating
Didn't know about the mission mode in the 360 and the fact it has most enemies is fun

I'l try emulate it

As I said, there are a ton of reasons why 2 on the 360 is the best on

So let's hear them. From your brain and your fingers.
Explaining why we hold an opinion (or a certainty if we're sure) should be easy.

Anon Babble becoming a non-paid plant for Korean and Chinese products is the funniest shit.
Can't wait for the board to rally behind Intergalactic the Heretic Prophet to shit on Ninja Gaiden 4.

shame; I was looking forward to this game after all the praise it got.

That should have put you off. Normies are morons who can't handle anything but souls slop.

Just realizing I always used infinite health/one hit kill on the bosses in the first game on PC since I found them boring/tedious and I was shit at them

How do i handle the bosses in the 360 version of 2?

That's the funny thing: I am one of those "Souls slop" eaters.
Had to stop because I had something to do; will continue with the Stellar Blade demo in a bit.

Once again, I can't go over all of them in a single post. The gist of it, though, is that Sigma 2 makes far too many bad changes to the game's combat system and balance, making it fundamentally different from the original, and in many ways, inferior.

It has fewer enemies, but they have more health and don’t get delimbed as often. That alone completely changes how the game plays. Sigma 2 fundamentally misunderstands what made Ninja Gaiden 2 special, turning it into something far less engaging, less challenging, and ultimately less fun. There also all of these small but frustrating changes, such as HP and Ki upgrades being used automatically, which no longer allows you to save them and use them strategically to fully recover your health or Ninpo when you need to, or just not using them at all if you want to make the game harder. Some moves don’t even work properly because the tracking system is broken in Sigma 2. Some other changes include being able to Izuna Drop Genshin (which completely breaks the fight), removal of two fun projectile weapons (Windmill Shuriken and Incendiary Shuriken), and the addition of the female chapters, which are all terribly unfun. Sigma 2 also reworks the bow by getting rid of bow UTs and giving it unlimited arrows instead. It's a silly change, because now you have to keep shooting the enemy multiple times instead of just killing them instantly with a single bow UT.

There are other bad changes too. I'll repeat it once more, there are far too many changes to go over all of them in a single post. I do hope that this was enough to satisfy you, though.

graces F is not what you're looking for

Really? I recall reading that it was on the better side of combat of the franchise. Or maybe i'm confusing it with another entry.
But thanks for the info, i'll wait for a sale on vesperia.

Just to clarify betfore I try emulate this thing: can I play all the chapters with fully upgraded weapons? And are there anything like the golden scarabs and if so, can I replay the levels and get them or am I only ever able to get them the first time you visit the level?

how soon can I get the claws?

instead of just killing them instantly with a single bow UT.

Charge time for that UT fucking sucks. Bow kill things faster in Sigma.

Thanks.
I wanted (you)r opinion as a fellow anon who actually plays those games, not some faggot youtuber's or some journo's article. I don't find those people valuable and if I wanted their opinions I would go there in the first place.

people who are just into tales games often speak highly of graces because its more obviously impressive and fleshed out compared to someone with a low understanding of vesperia just doing basic strings into special move and getting punished for it on hit, but if you're asking in a thread like this I assume you're the sort of person that would enjoy what vesperia offers that is offputting to a more casual jrpg enjoyer

can I play all the chapters with fully upgraded weapons?

There's two forms of new game plus. So yes after clear.

anything like the golden scarabs

Crystal skulls. Nothing tied to them. Sigma 2 gives you store discount albeit.

how soon can I get the claws?

Chapter 2.

Character Action thread

Dumb redditor faggot. We call them hack and slash.

Give up trying to get the emulated version to work

I'll try both the sigma PC version and the black version to see which is more fun

It's stylish action

had an awkward back->forward->Attack input

Nigga what
Reboot stinger has forward - forward - attack input. DE "fixes" this by introducing lock on but that's literally the only reason for you to use it besides checking enemy hp

It's still so weird how you ridiculed the based essay anon for responding to the "obviously AI-generated arguments" in one of the threads, with your reasoning being that no one else uses so many em-dashes, after which you also made a remark about knowing how to actually use them, only to not use them ever since. Scary stuff.

No it's not. If you weren't here when DMC3 was still new and that NG/GoW comic was in the peak of its popularity, nothing you say on the topic matters. Redditors and third world children don't get a voice in this discussion.

And done with the demo.
I removed it from my wishlist; EVE's handling is just terrible, from movement to dodge to parry.

I've got absolutely no clue what you're getting at, but I'm glad I live rent free in your head. It truly warms my heart to know that you vividly remember some random internet argument on Anon Babble from at least two months ago, all because of me. Here’s an em-dash just for you—as a token of my appreciation. I hope that's enough to make you happy, anon.

Given the current status of the action genre, supporting a mediocre game just for masturbation purposes is a very bad idea.
You would be rewarding mediocrity.

You would be rewarding mediocrity.

Too late. DMC V catered to the tourists.

What? DMCV is very good, even with some questionable design decisions.
