SIG P226/Sentinel Nine is a time-tested handgun but it's too blasé. It's like a Glock, it's a background character weapon but it at least fits with Leon's government agency background.

Honorable runner up is Leon's occasional 1911s in the games and movies, like the Springfield Operator, as those were coming back into vogue as the iconic hero gun.
