There's no argument to be had. I beat games all the time and quit playing them. You definitely need to be a mentally ill autistic to beat a game and immediately restart it and then do it again 3 or 4 times in a 3 month span.
I do replay games, but i take years long breaks. I've beat the wc3 campaign 3 times, but I take a several years between them. Replaying a game right after beating it is autistic and retarded if it isnt designed for it via ng+ reasons.

because while fun it tells a linear story and experience that you can only really fully take in on your first play through so beyond doing all the optional stuff I probably won't return to it for maybe another year or so

anon I put almost 90 hours into the game, got all the achievements and beat the story again in NG+. I liked the game enough that I'll probably play it a third time somewhere down the line but I don't want to burn out completely and there are other games on my backlog.
People don't play singleplayer storydriven RPGs forever unless they're hyper autistic. By your own logic BG3 failed because less people are playing it than they were on release but everyone knows that game was a great success.
