This is the only 2025 game I'm waiting for, it could be a major sleeping hit like COE33
This is the only 2025 game I'm waiting for, it could be a major sleeping hit like COE33
looked cool until i saw the specs. I'm not playing at 4k 30 fps with upscaling on my 4090
literally who studio
Steam specs suggest upscaling right off the bat
every journo describes it as "an incredibly ambitious ..."
It's going to be BBB slop with shitty optimization, shitty story, and shitty gameplay.
Stupid title
hell is united states
Based title
looks like absolute shit
you don't have to run ultra, drop some settings, retard
every gameplay preview
WHOA THE GAMEPLAY IS SO DIFFERENT THIS GAME IS STRAIGHT UP DIFFERENT
THIS GAME IS PUSHING BACK AGAINST TRIPLE A STUDIOS
THIS GAME IS LIKE THE FUCKIN BOLSHEVIK REVOLUTION OF GAMES
the gameplay: knockoff witcher/soulslop with 3 enemy types
It looks marginally better than ubislop....
I can just not buy your game and continue playing osrs and everquest with my high end rig.
It does seem like it might be cool. I'm somewhat interested.
Nah, this is going to flop horribly, people are going to try it, see that it runs like absolute dogshit and isn't really doing much new, then never touch it again.
The devs doing damage control in the official news section was a bad sign.
you dont have to play ultra on your 2k gpu
Theres a demo next week. The reaction to that will determine if this game flops or not.
nice more souls slop with zanzibart writing
pay premium
receive budget experience
feels good still being on a gtx1070ti, I get what I paid for all those years ago
Curious how it'll turn out. It definitely has potential if they nail the exploration and puzzles. I want Outer Wilds, not Dark Souls 3.
I'm also waiting for The Alters, Silksong and Dead Red Hood.
Im too old and jaded to piss away my time on some intentionally obtuse story that eas clearly put before making the game mechanically interesting.
but you explore!
Dont give a shit
Based
v browns gonna seethe hard because 1. it wont run on their third world toasters and 2. its an iq filter meant to filter tourist soulsfags
"v browns gonna seethe hard because 1. it wont run on their third world toa-"
Welcome to the flop club. Join other shittily-optimized games in layoff hell.
games audience is basically all high end fags since poor fags cant run it
high end fags dont bother to run it if it runs at a budget experience.
built in upscaling
LMAO
I think people would be fine if the game at least looked amazing and justified the shit performance.
But it doesn't, it looks like a game from 2016.
Fucking Once Human is a F2P Chinese game that runs on phones and it looks better than this game and runs at like 120 FPS at 4k on a 4090.
We prioritize fidelity over framerate
Cinematic experrience baby!!
2016 games looked like this though (same art director as this game)
Looks dope, no campaign co-op tho?
sleeping hit
I looked at the trailer on steam and felt my soul leaving body, absolute slop
If a game needs more than 8 Gb of video memory, it's not worth my attention.
Never even heard about this game before
IGN shill video shows up on my youtube
Several threads on Anon Babble about it same day
How much they paying you guys? I'd love a side income.
first thing I hear about this game is the specs chart, unlike Expedition 33 which had actual, sparse threads of interest
I feel 12gb should be enough
This game is from another small team like Expedition 33. Its from a team of about 50 people.
I looked at the trailer on steam and felt my soul leaving body, absolute slop
It's one of those games that will struggle to market itself because it's different from what it seems at surface-level glance. They're trying to market it as another generic soulslike in terms of combat gameplay but the main draw is it's an investigation game with no handholding, designed as a throwback to 90's adventure games and as an answer to all the yellow paint complaints. That's what the positive word-of-mouth will be about.
16gb will be obsolete next year
Forget upscaling, they have the fucking sliders.
designed as a throwback to 90's adventure games and as an answer to all the yellow paint complaints.
And they think that audience will have powerful PCs able to keep up with the game's poor optimization?
It seems like the combat is an afterthought and basically superfluous as the game is mainly focused on puzzle solving and investigation based on an interview I listened to a few days ago with Jonathan Jacques Belletette. I would bet at one point they thought about not having combat at all.
Listen to me, mr. marketer, I'm not upgrading my PC that runs 99% of modern games fine just for your game. If you believe your main audience will, let me refer to you to this post
no handholding, designed as a throwback to 90's adventure games
My sides.
Sierra-style adventure games were made intentionally obtuse to ensure paid phone calls for hints.
When that monetization venue dried up, adventure faggots still continued the practice out of sheer retardation, I think, and the genre committed sudoku by the end of 90s.
No handholding, my ass.
The combat design and look seems horrendous. That doesn't bode well for the rest of the project. Seems like a weird group project where wildly different teams worked on different elements and nothing cohesively comes together.
90% of marketing material is how about "they don't hold your hand when it comes to exploration"
maybe 5% explaining what you ACTUALLY do
this makes me think the general gameplay is boring and/or buggy as shit BUT at least the hints are diegetic, which, while appreciated, doesn't really make up for bad combat
here gameplay
youtu.be
I only clicked on webms from other thread. Don't even want to watch gameplay or story trailer. It looks like giga flop.
ultra is "only" a 10% upscaling!!
how about no upscaling, no frame generation, no vaseline fog?
what do i get with a 4090? 12 fps?
I will give the devs credence for this - if the graphics are good enough they can earn the right to say "we are putting 'fuck you' settings as the ultra mode that are meant for cards that don't even exist right now" but I don't quite buy it with what I am seeing
if the graphics are good enough
Well, they've already shown off the graphics, and they are definitely not good enough.
Visually this looks on par with something like State of Decay 2.
Story might be interesting but the lack of hand holding seems like it will be tedious
reminder michael kirkbride worked on this
glad he at least got some dosh for metamphetamine
investigative-focused Dark Souls Watch Dogs
I'm gonna be honest with you guys, a lot of Souls worlds are empty for specific reasons, I don't know how they'll pull the investigations aspect of it all (I doubt they can pull a Shadows of Doubt-style) but I'm all for it. Postapoc investigations sound fun, but there's gotta be more to reel folks in other than drones and monsters and the implication of a world war. Maybe that's how they'll do the investigations, mostly some Old World stuff before the war
3:00
performance seems pretty solid, i was playing on a good PC
gigantic fucking slowdown, like a good 20% happening on screen
this guy is retarded
Possibly controversial take but the game would be better with no combat.
It's even worse when they say "yea, I was on a pretty decent PC" but never mention the specs.
Then later you find out they were running the game at 1080p on an RTX 4090 and a 7800X3D.
nah I'm with you, I lost interest in the game when I saw the rollslop combat, I'm so fucking tired of that shit
muh 4K RTX superpixel grafix
muh nvidia amd 9000 200FPS
the talking points of npcs, who gives a shit
if it runs it runs and i play it, if it doesnt run i ignore or refund
