read that the newer Deus Ex games are unphilosophical and forgettable

play Human Revolution

it's actually exceptionally profound and evocative leaving you with insights, opinions, and considerations of different outcomes

Another day, another b**mer lie dismantled. Zoomerkings and Alphachads will save the world.

Human Revolution in general does well to heavily challenge and beat out the original. The only thing it has some real trouble with is level design for missions, as it lost some of the interconnected design in order to facilitate the new cover mechanics, along with the immense difficulties they had with the shitty fucking engine Squenix forced on them. That being said, the level design for the city sections more than makes up for it.

Everything else is obnoxious little nitpicks that you don't actually detract from Human Revolution and that the original is never really superior at.

only invisible war is bad

Both deus-ex sequels are bad. Original sequel is bad and sequel to human revolution is bad

Human Revolution is really solid, the issue is that it hyper focuses on augmentation when the original was about a variety of different topics.

Also the ending choices were very dumb. Even having multiple endings doesn't really make sense in a prequel.

It's actually so different in terms of aesthetic that it probably would have been more natural as its own thing rather than a Deus Ex prequel.

OP plays and beats game for the first time in his life

is so impressed by a multiple choice ending that it becomes his god-emperor

I feel like people should be forced to play at least one-dozen classics before touching any other games made after 2007.

I never really understood the game's message. Saying cyborg people are bad just feels like a dumb way to shit on religion.

human revolution was 14 years ago

the time between the original deus ex and human revolution was only 11 years

Now that’s terror.

boring game for retards

2025

still the only good Deus Ex game

Deus Ex.jpg - 800x1111, 127.76K

sequel to human revolution is bad

Not even remotely.

Cry oldfag

Unrestricted technological progress for the sake of it is self-destructive, but also as technology progresses and becomes more intimate to the human body it's important to remember technology can still be used to control and manipulate people.

Don't go all in on augmentation just because you can but also don't let billionaires control it either.

They're there, but they're fucking diet in comparison to the original's.

>it's actually exceptionally profound and evocative leaving you with insights, opinions, and considerations of different outcomes

Dude, augs lives matter n sheeit.

make your dozen list then, I'm waiting.

And none of it matters because you select whatever ending you want at the end no matter what choices you made or paths you followed.
Except the secret ending, theres a slightly smaller hallway to the left with the button that triggers that one.

Why Anon Babble was so buttmad with ME3 color endings but let this shit slide?

So you mean just like the original

Shit bait

normal people need military-grade mechanical arms... that's a philosophical question............... woah.................

The ME3 one was objectively worse. At least each ending button you pick here was a different cutscene. ME3 was effectively the exact same cutscene but with a different color grading.

No, please, tell us how the original ending to DX respected your choices throughout the game.

Here's a hint: you can't because it didn't. Literally the only difference between DX and HR is that DX makes you do some busywork to push the button for your chosen ending, offered to you regardless of your choices up to then.

I guess you didn't save Paul
Play the game again and come back when you've done that, zoomie

Based story skipper.

Those were neat “what could’ve been”s. The original Deus Ex still needs to happen.
Meanwhile, I am still waiting for an ending for MD.

only comeback is a "choice" completely unrelated to the endings that also changes little because the plot has to account for all the people who let the NPC die

Wow you sure got me with your Hidden Paul Ending. Maybe try to focus on what's being said instead of hyperfixating on buzzwords.

It was boring to actually play.

Saving Paul doesn't change the ending

If Embark will ever greenlit the next game(they won't), they will go out the way to make Jensen go gay and protect jews

It's not that it's bad it's just not nearly as good as the original or IW

zoomie pussy is too scared to reply

lol, you didn't even play the game, you watched some youtuber who 'deconstructed' the game's story and now you backpedal because you got exposed as a filthy secondary retard

Human Revolution has shit gameplay

Idk I thought the whole 'is technology good... or le bad?' got tiring. It spends a lot of time posturing that it's profound, but it's not like it didn't really cover anything the original didn't

What kind of a brainless ape you must be to take ingame blm for granted when the game specifically mentions that it is used by elites for control.

I know, although Paul doesn't affect the ending themselves, he gives you his insight on what ending to choose based on information you've gathered throughout the game

Illuminati is a safe choice but Everett might stab you in the back

Tong option is basically hard reset for humanity that would allow it to rebuild better, but also there is a risk of history repeating itself

and Helios wildcard, literally no one knows what would happen if JC merges with it, the prospect of AI/human hybrid God can result in either Anti Chirst or benevolent Messiah

People are weird about the series thinking that the newer ones aren't as good because they're not as dark and don't deal with the conspiratorial elements as much, but what do people expect from them as prequels? It's sort of the age where generally things are still kind of good before everything completely goes to shit.

As a stand alone game, Human revolution is one of the best games of the last decade
as prequel to original deus ex, it sucks major balls and completely misses the point of it's predecessor

but what do people expect from them as prequels?

We never asked for them.

don't deal with the conspiratorial elements as much

Thing is they do. While HR is fairly open about it MD in particular puts a LOT of conspiracy elements off the beaten path for the player to find. Sadly because herp derp reading is for fags a lot of players missed these details that change how a lot of information that is flat told can be interpreted.

It wasn't about technology being bad, but whether aug technology should be regulated or not. On one hand, it's cool that unfettered progress can lead to major tech developments quickly, but not having regulations can lead to people easily getting their hands on some powerful augmentations that could be used for criminal activities or corporations doing heinous shit and having the ability to get away with it because there are no laws to punish them for the experimental shit they're doing.

Anyone who praises the original Deus Ex and shits on HR/MD is a probably a fake fan, simple as that. They didn't play any of them and got their opinions through youtubers and memes. They think Deus Ex is le based redpill game and the new ones are le woke or some shit. Neither of them are like that.
You want to know the main problem with HR and MD? Let's try some word association. First word: Square Enix.

ME3 was the culmination of 3 games and ME1 and 2 had pretty good endings with a a fair amount of different possible outcomes so people expected more than a single cutscene with different colors. Bioware also said they weren't going to end the series with an ABC choice ending but that's what they did.

There was plenty of conspiracy-related stuff, shit the entire Picus level and Omega Ranch had computer logs were premium tin-foil hat shit. Tai Yong Medical also had plenty shady shit to learn too if you cared enough to read the computers. The entire side mission that has you learning about Jensen's birth was also great in that department. It is just retards not caring to explore and read the stuff in the logs.

I mean, that is basically about whether tech progress is good or bad and if some enlightened elite should conspire to repress it or let it loose. Dx 1 basically covers it as well since it is essentially the core reason Bob seethes about the pretentious old men
You're right that it focuses a lot on specifically Aug technology so it's a neat case study on the possible social effects of that technology, but I personally thought how both HR and MD fixated on the topic was pretty tiring. MD in particularly really stretches the plausibility of it with the whole apartheid thing

Warcraft 3
I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream
Planetscape: Torment
The Colonel's Bequest
Space Quest Collection
Dragon Quest 7
Snatcher
Maniac Mansion
Harvester
Super Fire Pro Wrestling Special
Muv Luv Alternative
Grim Fandango

Deus Ex will never be beat because its theme was "what if all conspiracy theories were true" and then it turned out that all conspiracy theories actually were true.

Warcraft 3

great

I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream

good

Planetscape: Torment

trash

Super Fire Pro Wrestling Special

based

Muv Luv Alternative

kino

Dragon Quest 7

meh

The Colonel's Bequest

Space Quest Collection

Snatcher

Maniac Mansion

Harvester

Grim Fandango

never played

Yeah, the real world jumped the shark so there's no way to make a story like this anymore. I think the modern equivalent would be "what if all conspiracy theories were wrong" and it's a tragic/nihilist tale about how nobody was at the wheel all along and humanity is fated to doom itself by its nature or something.

played the final boss of point and clicks

didn't play some of the most popular and well-received ones

Huh
