Why is it always like this? since the N64 days the Nintendo console has always been a 'companion' device. You don't buy a Nintendo console to play 3rd parties. You don't buy it as a all in one device. You buy it to play Nintendo games. That hasn't changed in decades. It's a profitable niche I don't see the problem.

3rd party will run generally fine albeit with lesser resolution than other 9th generation options as the gen goes on, that isn't a problem for the people who would buy this regardless of if it is comparably better or not than other versions. The main issue is that physics and other CPU demanding stuff is back in vogue and even if there aren't that many CPU demanding games now, it is bound to increase as the gen goes on. I don't care how many tricks you can try to play like Half Life Alyx's infamous bottle physics done with shaders only, there is still a limit to the hard fact that the Switch 2 has half the CPU compute as 9th gen consoles.
How much will Nintendo need to do to convince Take-Two and Rockstar to downgrade the physics and etc. in GTA VI to make it available on Switch 2? I doubt it is likely. Some games are not coded well enough to even get over that stopgap. How much can Capcom do to make sure the Switch 2 gets Monster Hunter Wilds without making the experience piss poor with the stutters and freezes it gets? Not to mention, they all need framegen. Has any game showed that yet on Switch 2? Those are two titles, sure, but you can't say missing them would mean your third party support isn't less than stellar. I am inclined to think the CPU being dogshit and not clocked higher will be a mistake alongside the resources the OS takes away already from devs on the system for Game chat and etc.

It'd be great to get XBC games at 60 FPS with 4K resolution on Switch 2. XBC2 especially needs it, it would look and run like a completely different game. Same thing with Fire Emblem: Engage. That game has so much animation and movement that seeing it move in 60 FPS is sex, and so is the XBC games.

I can't speak for most people here, but I bought a switch for switch exclusives, which is mostly just Nintendo games. I bought a PS5 for PS5 exclusives, which is mostly just Sony games. I use my PC for anything multiplatform. I'm 99% sure I won't buy a PS6 since Sony exclusives are now PC games as well.
