If you optimize it, it most definitely does not. You shouldn't be leveling other than naturally (and even then, using Enc-none for sanity's sake) until you get the Ragnarok and you can farm spells off the Islands Closest to Heaven and Hell. At level 100, you should be working on farming items for weapons like Regen Rings, Malboro Tentacles, Dragon Fangs, and so on.

no the game becomes harder because you can get all max level items and spells from converting enemies into cards and items and spells etc. so you get massive stat boosts, while the enemy does not level up. so you basically just outpace them at ridiculous levels. the problem is you can't ever kill anything the normal way, which is tedious as fuck

Most enemies are susceptible to Death, so one shots are common. Yeah, bosses require the aura/renzokuken strategy, but it only takes one round of it (except Omega Weapon and Ultimecia if you count all 4 phases as part of one encounter).
