I only ever see two, you can zoom out and see their icons.

Events are unlocked by rank unlock. Once you've unlocked rank 3, the legendaries can still spawn even if you lower the rank. This also goes the same way for certain boss enemy events. Like Rank 5 makes the Big Beak spawn in Wingtip Valley, but it also adds the Big Beak event to the pool of event spawns in that area. Even if you lower the rank back down, that Big Beak event can still appear.

Boss veggies grow from sparkling big sprouts. Sometimes during sprout stage you get fully grown veggies already. The boss sprouts are just green, they don't look like whatever their vegetable type yet. You can also pull them out before they grow, in case you don't want a boss veggie (for some fucking reason). Are you sure you don't accidentally cancel them?

the early growing vegetables are normal. The indicator for a boss vegetable spawning is one of the early growers being replaced with a sparkling sprout. You can still get bosses even if you don't see it spawn.
It's probably all luck, but I wouldn't be surprised if there's some other factors to it too.

Some gameplay spoilers: fort Gardhart let's you nerf the final boss, who is by default lvl 100 down to lvl 50. You can redo both in post-game though.

Controller is way better since you get good vibration feedback on almost everything you do which makes it feel a bit more immersive

the idle imp will ask you if you REALLY want to kill the final boss before doing ginomorisa you really want to do the foort, because it weakens the final boss+lore

the semi-final boss is affected by it. it's normally level 99, but if you do the fort it's brought down to level 60. you also get a bunch of lore

There's armor set from the Coliseum that comes with gathering bonuses. Also, max out their affection I guess. You can also feed them consumables, and there's food which boosts gathering too, but I haven't tried that.

It seem like blazing through the story as fast as possible, which only requires a combat class, is the best way to progress. You can then just equip your base level classes and hang out with your high level buddies as they do whatever and you level by just being close to them. Or you do that online which would be even faster.

higher level groves have some exclusive bosses
bosses on higher levels also tend to drop more stuff because they're higher level

area must be rank 3 to start spawning legendary events
switching area rank at any tower rerolls the entire map
tower can be rank 1 and still spawn a legendary event as long as the zone had rank 3 unlocked previously

I figured I'd get recipes by ranking up or as drops, but it seems some recipes only are available in shops. Is there a database yet for item locations available? I just spent 15 minutes looking for the specific recipe(or the item itself) for a quest item I needed and haven't found it.

I have every era minimum 3 which I think fucked me because now everything has a chance to spawn. Maybe if you only unlock rank 3 in the areas don woolie can spawn in you can force it.

I obviously can't say for certain but I think it checks where to spawn the legendary before it checks for area rank. I'm getting way more spawns in general than before I ranked up every area, but the rate of specific ones seems about the same as when I was target farming the legendary ore node for example.

Well, I guess I should start thinking about finishing off the story then. I've gotten most Gathering/Crafter Lifes to Hero already and all the Combat Lifes to Master at least, and among all the Lifes, my lowest level Life is Paladin at level 58 and my highest is Woodcutter at level 82, followed by Miner at level 81 and Brand New at level 78. At least some enemies in the story scale according to my level.

Hunter's damage isn't nearly as good as anons said it was, you aren't fucking capping with charged heavy spam unless you're exploiting weakness, but Hunter is still the best "starting class" because of how stupid its dodge spam is for movement

Literally the only class that hasn't had insane misinfo is paladin, and that's mostly because anons can't decide on a narrative while most actual palladinchads are just playing the game.

I agree on the self-buff, but that's exactly what I said in the original post. The healing is useful even when potion chugging exists due to the animation loc too; if your heal isn't healing for much, then you aren't minmaxed enough.
Even the defense buff is more useful than anons claimed it was because it stops people from getting instagibbed. Both the self-regen and self-defense buffs also stack with your charged heavy buffs too, making you virtually unkillable if you're somehow getting hit while spamming charged lights from across the screen.

Not only are Mage's numbers fine, it is also the perfect tard wrangling class for if you need to pub some shit. You sound like you blitzed mage to Hero and then ignored it or didn't bother to experiment with your moveset.

i always play mage in every game too. its a damn shame how poorly its done in this game.

They really need to lean in heavily on Mages exploiting elemental damage as their whole thing. They may be the only Life that deals Magic damage, but the differences in Physical and Magical defence for most enemies aren't enough to make it an actual thing to consider, and some classes can easily hit the damage cap just by putting on an elemental weapon themselves. Instead of just '+10% (elemental) damage' in their Skill Board, they should up it to like +25% or even +40% only if exploiting elemental damage to make it so that Mages deal the most damage if they are doing so, but they can fall back to 'neutral' magic that is good against everything but not fantastic either if they don't have access to the right element. Ironically it would mean that a Mage putting on a True Time Staff would effectively be nerfing themselves though.

You should be optimizing your base so that other players can steal flowers from it easily. It's just common courtesy.

Let's be fair some of the tutorials are ambiguous and poorly worded, not only that the game loves to spam you to death with them so you're likely to read over critical information.
Like how this anon said the excellent tutorial sucks as it just says big final hit, whilst in actuality its based on overkill, not size of the final hit.

Very quick example:
- Tree has 1000 HP (1000/1000 HP). To get an Excellent, you have to get it to -200 HP (-200/1000 HP)
-- Example 1: You hit the Tree and drop it to 0/1000 HP. Normal Finish.
-- Example 2: You hit the Tree and drop it to -100000/1000 HP. Excellent Finish
-- Example 3: You hit the Tree and drop it to -200/1000 HP. Excellent Finish.
-- Example 4: You hit the Tree and drop it to -100/1000 HP. Normal Finish.
-- Example 5: You hit the Tree and drop it to -199/1000HP. Normal Finish.

In otherwords, you just have to make the tree/ore/veggie go down to the negative HP threshold to get Excellent Finish. It doesn't matter if you drop a nuke at it to deal 1mil damage on the Tree with 1000 HP or you chip it down to 1/1000 HP and then smack it for 250 damage to bring it to -249/1000 HP, so long as in that example, you brought it to that example threshold of -200/1000 HP when the Tree died.

Get the tree/fish/ore to a sliver of HP using normal attacks and then charge your heavy for a big hit.

If you don't have access to your charged heavy yet, use your normal charged.

The four you're missing are Master rank Alchemist, Artist, Cook and Tailor. + is a Greater craft so just doing the recipe isn't enough for those.

Higher rank also give more item drops (they're level dependent) and more non event reward points (it's not much but it slowly adds up), but if you're struggling to get gold rank for the event then it's better to lower the rank.
