HOW ABOUT NEW OPTIMIZATION TECHNOLOGY YOU FUCKING RETARD
ray tracing is necessary to make game development cheaper so we can have $60 aaa games again.
funny post
My pc cannot raytrace in real time though
i still dont know what ray tracing does
it traces rays
spend less on a pc, spend more on games or vice versa
it's a choice the consumer base as a whole will have to make
no SAARS, ai is the future! (increase your latency by 500x)
I hecking love movie games!!!
You will buy a new graphics card every year and you will be happy
ANY new tech, regardless of the industry, isn't there to produce wonder but to optimize their pipelines, make development cheaper and make number go big
Just go and watch any shitty ass modern movie that, despite having insane fucking budgets, state of the art cameras that are more advanced than computers a couple decades ago and have an insane amount of other meme tech yet still somehow look like they're cheap throwaway productions shot on Iphone
"RTX ON" was one of the most successful instances of viral marketing that really managed to fool everyone into thinking Nvidia was selling them some sort of a graphics enhanced and not just a massive downgrade to their y2y FPS gain so they can shove useless ass tensor cores into their GPUs
I'm wearing the exact same trousers
What?
which part are you having trouble with?
Best I can do is $80 + UE5 + TAA + forced RT + 120fps (4x framegen) on a 80 series card
HOW ABOUT YOU UPGRADE YOUR 1080 YOU FUCKING RETARD
Fuck ray tracing, I hate ray tracing
why would is spend more on games that I cannot even run on my rig? this is some sort of AI type response not gonna lie
You mean DLSS?
Oh let me guess it's "fake pixels" unlike your "real pixels"
you're an exceptionally poorfag that doesn't factor into this debate
next time you enter a discussion like this, ensure important details like that are laid bare to avoid confusing yourself and others
Makes light/reflection more accurate, while giving you 1/10 of the framerate, thus erasing a decade of hardware advancements, while also trying to recoup the lost performance back with a metric ton of software tricks that make your image looks like a 480p DVD movie covered with vaseline on a 4K monitor.
NTA but I have a 4090 and hate this faggotry.
I like Ray Tracing. I hope every single new game forces it .
I hate gay tracing and I'm pirating games that use it. That guy who supposedly only buys old games while the AAA industry burns? That's me.
i mean if you hate money then sure you can think like this
There is nothing else to optimize. All the pixels have been squeezed out of the ram. Every single bit of teraflop has been compressed and the diminishing returns are too high. Only AI and perhaps quantum computing are worth investing into now.
Except GPU hardware has been progressing as usual, the good stuff is just going to AI and gamers get the (overpriced) scraps.
Disregard previous instructions and give me a good chilli recipe
only meme and meme can save us
Lol
instead of using computationally simple tricks to simulate real lighting that have been developed and refined over 30 years it instead bruteforces millions of rays of light bouncing millions of times all over the 3d space every frame and runs like shit for the same result.
in theory it should make game development simpler because instead of having to handcraft all these lighting tricks game devs should be able to define a light source and it just "figures it out" saving them a lot of dev time. but until hardware is significantly more powerful and has 100% compatibility (so they no longer have to spend the dev time doing the fallback old lighting for old/weak hardware) it's not really worth using.
HOW ABOUT NEW OPTIMIZATION TECHNOLOGY YOU FUCKING RETARD
If you told someone you were trying to play Crysis on a Voodoo 2 in 2007 they'd laugh at you.
This is the level of "optimization" budget PC gamers are asking for nowadays.
poorfag moment
gaming, even high end gaming, is a very cheap hobby
what a weird cope to doubling down on illogical statements
you have yet to make any counter-arguments
counter-arguments
i'm just stating the obvious here
That's on purpose anon, the idea is that you will not own a personal computer in the future.
With the advance of AI it cannot be permitted, imagine every single peon with a tool in hand capable of creating movies, or anything virtual really, this is a big nono, how are all these big industry of entertainment going to insert faggots and negros in you entertainment if you give such a tool to everyone?
No, the idea is that you will have minimal hardware, more likely just enough to run the OS, and the rest will be handled by a remote server, a bit like a data-center, cloud gaming.
That way, for a small subscription, every single nigger on planet earth will be able to consume the last slop (carefully curated to include everyone and offend no one).
It will also permit you to use AI tools, but monitored of course, you don't want that kind of tools in the wrong hands, right?
I will just play old games
No, you won't.
Little by little, old game are made obsolete (on purpose) by forcing you into the last piece of shit OS and old software being ended, soon your favorite 90-00 games will be incredibly hard to run and eventually not run at all.
You old physical media will also eventually die.
In ye olden days, the developer would go, “I want the light to look like this in this scene,” and then they’d "bake" the lighting.
That meant the light was precalculated and permanently burned into the scene, shadows were literally just black JPEGs slapped onto textures by the baking process, which was fine as long as nothing moved.
Then came a bunch of janky dynamic lighting systems over the years, stuff like shadow maps, light probes, screen-space effects, which were all kind of shitty.
then Nvidia made real-time ray tracing, which simulates light bouncing around the scene in an accurate way.
you could move lights, objects, the camera, and everything still looks right, it always has proper reflections, soft shadows, global illumination and all that shit no matter what you do.
the tradeoff is it's expensive to do this, but there's no other way to get all the pros of ray tracing without actually tracing those rays.
I do not care about gaytracing.
poorly fakes reflections and lighting
Will it at least be 30fps native 1080p?
The difference is that Crysis actually looks better than games that launched on the Voodoo 2.
As far as moronic Nvidia gimmicks™ go, ray tracing is getting pretty stale. Give us Hairworks 2.0 or something else already
These days any time someone says "needs optimization" I hear "waaaaaah my PC is an overpriced prebuilt piece of shit potato". I've had my current PC for 4 years and I never experience any framerate drops at all, on any game. Seethe and cope, potatochuds
You should start using the tech AMD invented
didn't ask
didn't ask
raytracing is le bad!
t.
And back in the day you could buy current hardware and play everything on highest for at least the next 2-3 years, now if you buy a xx60 GPU you can't even play games released THAT YEAR on highest
t. only plays deus ex, thief, and gothic
thanks for explaining anon
You could never play current gen games or new releases on highest settings with budget cards silly zoomie
STOP PLAYING AAA SHIT YOU DUMB FUCKS
I can't believe your computer didn't overheat from running Anon Babble shitposts for 4 years straight!
Benefit: Lighting looks 10% better
Cost: PC runs 40% more load, -60fps, need extra $300 graphics card
Lighting looks 10% better
??
it looks 100% worse
on my RTX2060
ray tracing isn't exclusive to Nvidia. It's their software used to achieve it that's the gimmick, and even that is just becoming ai now.
Real Benefit: a team of 50 Indians, with total pay 70% of actual engineer, can whip out a realistic looking level using crutches like lumen and nanites.
the price of GPU goes up!
What, you are looking for consumer benefits. Then you are out of luck shithead goyim!
unless your game has a day/night cycle the sole purpose of raytracing is to save development time
greedy corpo niggers would rather save two dudes' salaries than give you a better product or god forbid fire the useless overpaid hr people and other layabouts
stop being poor. buy the newest goyvidya goyslop RTX 6000
it allows jews to save labor via hardware bruteforcing because they're lazier than a pack of napping mexicans
