Fine. A lesser version of Library of Ruina but I'd say its a little above average when compared to other gacha. Certainly a lot harder than most of them outside of some Arknights content in my experience

I've played many gacha and had many discussions about "generosity". After playing Limbus I've come to realize that it is the only generous gacha and that's because its barely designed like one.

Story

The actual draw of the game. Its really just a very, very long VN. Every character gets their moment to shine given all of the story chapters focuses on a specific Sinner.

I think it's really interesting how the main reason that makes Limbus' writing not be abysmal dogshit like other gacha games is the simple fact that they don't need to keep releasing characters.

EGO is extracted from the mirror the same way IDs are through the power of the boughs which has a direct connection to any and all abnormalities that ever exist, and sinners can resonate with particular abnos if there's a strong relationship between them, but it doesn't mean the abno is actually physically present in any form, just that the bough makes a connection between them, that's why we get random resonances to shit that the sinners shouldn't even be aware of like Spider Bud and Duchess

The way sinner EGO's work seems to imply its not LCE's doing but a result of Dante's inherent connection to the light + sinners.
I imagine its more like Dante can pull EGO directly from the well of humanity binded to a fitting sinner, but its significantly more difficult/rare than just pulling ID's from mirror worlds.

Abno EGO isn't unique.
You can have the same abnormality manifest several times and so too can their EGO be extracted multiple times.

This is actually mentioned in the WAW takeoff module. The EGOs sinners use are actually psychoments like in DD, more like temporary EGO based on the abnormalities (and in the case of base EGOs, the sinners themselves) similar to what happened in Ruina, manifested through emotions and a more or less strong link.

I don't think that's his issue.
In ideal conditions he has no trouble keeping up with the other poise ID's.

I think the issue is more that his power isn't really from poise but haste.
To get his conditionals reliably he needs to be up 2/4/6 speed from an opponent which against 4 speed means 6/8/10 speed.
If you rely solely on his passive (ie slot him in a poise team) that means to get it to trigger even just half the time you'll need 0/10/20 count (using his s1 helps reduce it a fair bit but it makes him unreliable for clashing).
Putting him in ends up getting him less benefits than you'd expect because you'll be making him crit and spend count reducing his speed gain.

He'll perform notably better in a haste team as that does a lot more for his consistency (also lets him do more damage thanks to his passive).
But because haste is more of a psuedo archetype its probably going to be subpar compared to just poise (barring specific fights like 8-30)

There's no better option for Ishmael on a poise team. Unfortunately within the poise archetype there's plenty of better options for active deployment so she's pretty far back on the chain. At least her support passive is easy to activate and good in multi-wave battles

Otherwise Ricardo here would've gotten at least enough rupture count for the stack to last until Ishmael's second skill was used.

My main issue with this is that EXP lux fucking blows and doesnt give enough tickets so having a full team of level 50s (not 55 just 50s so you still get -1 power in clashes and +10% damage taken) is really hard on anyone that isnt day 1.

Don Quixote is worse than Lei with unbreakable spam, and I beat Lei first try, its just funny seeing half the thread get hard filtered by Lei who is less obnoxious than Don and somehow only then did people realize its obnoxious. Also the main problem with Lei is skipping phases because he has no damage gates. He is supposed to spawn the mooks and then take a regular turn but if you DPS hard enough he skips that and jumps straight into mooks + mass attack.

I think SOME parts of the nerfs are justified for this Canto, like a bit too many red coins overall and it doesn't really feel like breaking them matters when they still pretty much do everything anyway or Grandma being a bit too tanky and as a result the fight dragging on for too long or GasHarpoon's counter attacks basically guaranteeing an insta stagger on whoever hit Ahab, but they really had no business kneecapping Pequod Trio, Queequeg fight and a few others.

you have to do about 9.5 exp luxs per unit from 1-55, and at 3 modules per run, that's about 30 modules per max unit. it'll add up quickly. but I've got a lot of spare modules, a moderate nest egg of exp tickets, and several units already leveled up to some degree, so it's just a matter of plugging that all into my excel calculator and seeing what my personal cost will end up being

I think the only stage that was justified in being nerfed so far is probably Lei Heng but even then I wouldn't have touched it that much. Maybe I would have reduced his 6-coin damage by 10 or 20% so that your non tank/resistant IDs don't just die but that's it.
I wish I could see the data that they had for Pequod and this cantos dungeon that caused them to nerf those. Surely those clear rates would've been a bit higher so I wonder what they consider a good difficulty.

Last time she was present she said she would take the remaining Bough and give it back to the people that gave her the small mirror, so they probably just offered an opportunity to hire her since they were the ones who ''opened'' her eyes and she would hardly refuse because of that.

he also doesnt reload prior to the mega fuckoff attack and ammo adds even more damage. But if you are doing decent damage he triggers 2 seperate %hp effects and gets a free reload before moving straight into the mass attack.

PM does need to make these passives more clear because the bind shit is all the way at the bottom and Im pretty sure its also hidden inside other status icons that each have their own essay inside.

HP drops to 1 -> damage gate from ego -> ego pops -> ego tries to kill hong lu -> dimmension shredder passive kicks in and sens him to 30% hp

And since limbus has retarded damage scaling since wrong sin + wrong physical damage type means youre taking quad damage vs in ruina you would be taking significantly less at the same general area of the game due to resistances keeping up with damage. A single lost clash even with double resisting sin and damage type in limbus still resuslts in being staggered half the time. And god save you if the boss has SP because theyre designed to keep up with sinners at max sp while theyre at 0 or below so every clash is now in the 16-20s which is your average id S3.

you forget that phase change passives stack. So if you lower him from 61% to 40% in a single turn he will get all the buffs of both and then go straight into the giant wrath slash attack while double dipping on damage up effects

he isnt supposed to reload prior to the big attack but he does at his 60% so if you trigger multiple %hp passives he reloads, skips the phase where you win clashes to gut his bullets, spawns two mooks, and then gets the massive damage boost on every coin. The intended way for the fight is he does yet another 1 glut unbreakable + envy and slash skills + spawning two mooks for you to kill.

I wonder if, after getting all the sephirah boosts, we could get "optional" fights like the Ruina abnos to upgrade them.

The only damage buff that can't be removed is inner strength, so 50% boost and 20% from speed difference on his last red skill. Hard to full drain his ammo so 50% damage on top of that. He gets -80% for losing the clash. Even prenerf that's only 40% damage in the worst case scenario. Completely survivable, even without chains.

The only problem was people weren't binding or guarding so they ate an extra 70%.

Everything else in the setting has an inherent trade-off.
Singularity tech is expensive and often requires a skilled user, with each tech carrying its own downsides.
Manifested EGO is spontaneous and requires having been pushed to the depths of your character and holding firm every time you use it.
Extracted EGO is dangerous in a variety of ways, with the safest means still requiring people to meet certain characteristics.

Given its ties to the light and people using it saying they had to invoke memories the best case scenario I can think of is that it requires active concentration (also fits with most of the usage we see of it).

8-30 got gutted pretty hard but apparently some people can still struggle with it, as evidenced in this thread. the final boss had its resistances lowered a bit, not because it was too hard, but because it was just really tanky for no reason. it took a lot of people 40ish turns to beat it, so they made it less of a boring damage sponge. I don't recall there being any nerfs prior to part 3

Once you start winning clashes you should be swimming in EGO resources with the free turns, prey+Hong Lu. It's very simple to patch up any SP deficiencies.
