I bought it and I'm having fun but I can't see myself playing it for more than another week or two, then dropping in whenever they add something new (lol). It's still a nice change of pace to Helldivers to have a melee focus. I just wish there was a similarly gritty feeling singleplayer game with the same gorgeous environments but I actually had time to admire them.

it's a good "shooting hordes of zombie soldiers" game, but it's not a great Warhammer 40k game, and all the levels are derelict, poorly lit ship cooridors. the soundtrack does 95% of the work providing any semblance of 40k atmosphere. i'd recommend Space Marine 2 instead.

It's alright, especially with a friend or a group, unfortunately he went ahead and maxxed out all the fucking classes which killed my motivation for playing. I think you should be able to tell if you like it within 2 hours or not.

The whole point of this game is that you have 2000 hours in Vermintide 2 and you need something different because you've had enough for now.
If you have less than 200 hours in Vermintide 2, you have no reason to engage with Darktide.

Yes. It's one of, if not the, best co-co game on the market in terms of gameplay. On the 23rd we are getting the Arbites class as well as an entire revamp to the story progression and mission system. Doesn't mean much to players who have every class at level 30 but it'll be good for new players.

On sale? Yes, it's really fucking fun. The major downside is that they hardly release any new content so don't expect a live service game, just uninstall once you feel like you've seen everything.

No. It's not good yet. It would take more enemies, bosses and varied stages to be actually good. Also the game is almost dead thanks to retarded FS. You can never get to play special assignment missions because they are dead and one can never understand why their stupid UI team placed havoc, mortis trials in separate areas where no one goes to so you'll rarely get public games in them. Why can't they have everything in a single server browser? It fucking sucks.

I havent played V2 since Darktide came out, and haven't played Darktide for like a year or more.

V2 had way more charm, which in a game where you're repeating maps 100x and listening to enemy barks and friendly comments 100x, that's important.

Yeah, absolutely worth it for 16EUR. The game had extreme, major issues and was painfully incomplete on release but it's pretty good now. I mean it's still quite lean on the content side from certain points of view (map variety mostly) but the core gameplay is very good. Obviously this is a co-op game and having at least 1 friend to play with you is a major improvement, but at least on the higher difficulty levels I play even the randoms tend to be quite competent at the game so it's playable even solo. No idea what it's like on lower difficulties though.

Maelstroms are fun but it's just not the same. I realize I sound like an elitist but havoc fundamentally plays differently because of how high the threat level of everything is which forces you to coordinate with your team more. A havoc-lite without the cuts to player HP and toughness but all the other bells and whistles would be a good mode for a different pace

There's a new game mode called havok that has you climb through 40 ranks of mission that get harder as you go up and has new mission modifiers. You have to talk to the commisar lady to access it.
