Oh my word
Oh my word
people are surprised by this
first reddit and twitter reposts
now facebook reposts are getting made here
fucking grim
I'll wait for the Switch 2 pro.
Nintenbros.....
fuck oled. my oled phone had the keyboard burned in within just a few months.
Wait for the OLED Switch 2 coming out in a year for $600.
HDR on LCD
hahAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
WHATS THE POINT NINTENDO
WHATS THE POINT!??!?!
My Switch 2 will have whatever display my PC will have in 5 years. Because I'm not going to get the console and I will pirate the games. They're cancerous towards my hobby now, so I wouldn't feel bad if this puts them out of business.
based
How much is the OLED model going to cost?
This shit is gonna be so locked down you won't be able to hack OR emulate it
Wanna play the new Miyazakislop, better pay up little boy
People were expecting OLED & 4K screen. We only got 120hz.
paying people for their work
Oh no that's terrible.
LCD is better for the application since they’re pursuing HDR as a highlighted feature. OLED struggles with peak brightness.
K. I'll just go without for years. I still have TotK sitting around on a HDD somewhere, if it hasn't failed. I downloaded it almost 2 years ago and never bothered starting it up. Nintendo just isn't interesting anymore.
capable of 120
locked to 30
HAHAHAHAHA OHONONNONONO
Good I want my shit to last, my switch 1 is in poor physical shape from taking a few tumbles so I'm conscious of the need for durability.
It is however HDR which is pretty cool.
Niptendo isn't people
Don't forget the $20 "updates" you'll have to buy for every game to unlock OLED screen compatibility.
Real durable, tendie-kun.
Lel the fuck am I reading?
Dunno about LCD, but OLED screens struggle with contrast, they can get deep blacks but they struggle with peak brightness, that's why AMOLED exists.
Does it have hall effect or TMR sticks or does it use the same old cheap drift prone sticks?
Do you have any proof whatsoever that this is a problem? Do you know how magnets work, Violent J?
same old cheap sticks
retarded snoy ape is too stupid to hold his device
no wonder why snoys have to buy 3 or 4 controllers a year
if the magnets are strong enough to support a pound of weight they'll interfere with electronic components.
Oled version 800 dollars lite version 700 dollars
We knew about this. Nobody should act surprised. We also knew about the 120hz display but most people didn't believe that(myself included)
It is however HDR which is pretty cool.
no it isn't its a basic lcd that has the hdr protocol embedded into its controller chip
it won't make a difference
Still waiting on proof that this is an issue.
the proof is common sense.
why dont you put a magnet capable of supporting a pound of weight next to your motherboard and see what happens.
and they are still astronomically better at HDR than LCD panels lmao
if it isn't capable of emitting 1000+ nits of brightness then it doesn't support true HDR and will look like shit as a result
Makes sense. They can make more money this way from double dipping. They'd be retarded to release them at the same time
If you’re in your dark basement, sure. It’s a handheld, so it’s expected people will be in bright areas, which is where OLED panels struggle to sustain per pixel light generation.
[Sad News]
The switch 2's battery will last more than 1 hour due to no 120hz OLED Screen.
the panel doesn't need to reach 1000 nits it will have ambient light to boost it
No one will buy this to just play Mario Kart. DKs are skippable for most people and a new Souls-like IP isn't a Bloodborne 2. People will wait.
Dead on arrival.
It was already confirmed 2-6 hours in their website though...
It’s more about how bad the 400 nits would look on an oled outside than anything. I’m not expecting great hdr from the thing. $1,000 gaming monitors still struggle with good hdr. I do think Nintendo is good at internal quality control, so their mastering will make up for some of the deficiencies of the hardware itself. It’s still not going to look great, because it doesn’t except on the best TVs on the market.
Remember you can't afford this you can always buy a $200 used Switch OLED. Probably even cheaper in two months as a lot of people trade them in.
400 nits
OLED panels regularly double that. True HDR doesn't start until 1000 nits which modern OLED panels typically start at if they advertise HDR.
I do think Nintendo is good at internal quality control
Brought to you by the company that sold far and away the lowest nit OLED screen on the market.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Switch 2 OLED Edition for 80 dollars

zamnnn
It's funny that you haven't noticed the internet consolidating over the past decade. What rock have you been living under? How cheap is the rent?
everyone is crying about no oled
yet every time I ask about new monitors I'm deluged with comments about how shit oled is because it burns in no matter what
which is it you stupid fucking faggots
