I didn't 100% Final Fantasy X-2.
Explain why/how Tidus comes back. And btw: where was he at the end of ff10? Why does Yuna see him in jail or something
I didn't 100% Final Fantasy X-2
He doesn't come back.
Hope that helps.
Also, He was always just a ghost in FFX, having been dead a long long time, with only Sin keeping his spirit around because ``muh only son'' garbage.
The Fayth reconstructs him.

Why does Yuna see him in jail or something
You don't need to 100% the game to know this but fuck it.
To start we have to talk about the actual history of Zanarkand and the war. Concepts like Summoners and Blitzball existed before Sin. And Zanarkands summoners were called to war. Zanarkand and Bevelle were in conflict and Zanarkand was losing. Badly. The woman here is Lenne was a famous Songstress. She was also a summoner and she was called to the frontlines. This was functionally a death sentence. The man here is Shuyin, a star Blitzball player in Zanarkand. He was also Lenne's lover. When Lenne was called to the front, Shuyin couldn't take it and he decided he was gonna end the war.
Shuyin SOMEHOW learned that Bevelle had a secret weapon. A decommissioned Machina with a cannon so powerful it could destroy all of Spira. It's name was Vegnagun and Shuyin was going to steal it. If Shuyin fired it's main gun, all of Bevelle and their armies would be turned into a smoking crater and the war would be over. So Shuyin infiltrates Bevelle and it's immediate arrested. Shocker. That's what the video was. Shuyin being interrogated as he was caged. Lenne learned that her boyfriend got caught, abandoned the front, and went to Bevelle. Just in time for Shuyin to break out of jail and find Vegnagun. As Shuyin was getting Vegnagun online, Lenne stood in front of him begging him to stop. It's never said what they were arguing about but I presume Lenne didn't want Shuyin to vaporize Bevelle’s citizens in her name. None of that matters because the guards hear them arguing and corner them. And both are shot and killed. Lenne peacefully passes on to the Farplane. But Shuyin's hatred persisted. He would not pass on to the Farplane but instead stuck around as an Unsent for the next 1000 years.
it's not him she sees in jail, but one of the original inhabitant of zanarkand that the fayth got their inspiration from when they summoned dream zanarkand and tidus.
where was he at the end of ff10?
nigga how about you start paying attention to the games you play?
Does the bit where he kicks a blitzball that turns out to be a bomb that blows him up to pieces happen before or after X-2?
You more the rest, Yu Yevon goes nuclear. Creates Dream Zanarkand, creates Sin, 1000 years of Yevon. And Bevelle just... never used Vegnagun. The reason given is that Vegnagun's IFF doesn't work. Which implies that's run exclusively by AI. Gipple even says Vegnagun can detect hostility and will move away automatically. But also it can be controlled by a pilot. Using a piano. Yes I consider this a plot hole that Bevelle never used Vegnagun. I know the argument that Bevelle used Sin to turn themselves into a world power but you can also do that with a really big gun.
Anyway Shuyin would mostly be dormant until Maester Kinoc's Crimson Squad would go through their trials in the Den of Woe near Mushroom Rock. Shuyin's hatred was so great that anyone who got near it was instantly driven mad. This part is relevant but as it turns out, this also affects the Fayth in the same way. When Shuyin woke up and started making his way to Bevelle, Vegnagun, which still works 1000 years later, detected his hostility and dug it's way out of its holding chamber. It continued to dig all the way to the Farplane. And that's kind of a problem because the Fayth are also there. And when the Fayth were infected by Shuyin's hatred they began to dream the Dark Aeons, which began to attack anything that came near them?
Why was that relevant? Well for one it's an excuse to undo FFX's perfect ending. But for another it also puts the Fayth in Yuna's debt for a second time. The Fayth thank Yuna for saving them and breaking Vegnagun and as a reward, they decide to dream one more time. And so they dream up Tidus, a mish mash of other people's memories of the star Blitzball player from Zanarkand. And Yuna is reunited with Tidus back on Besaid to live happily ever after. And that's the end of the story. There was no shitty light novel to ruin this not as good but still pretty decent ending.
It happened at the beginning of X offscreen, the entire game is him hallucinating a split second before dying.
go on, where does Titus fit in all this?
By getting 100% on her quests, the Aeon-wizards decide to be cool and turn Tidus into a real person instead of a walking figment of their imaginations so Yuna could have him back.
Well in the story of X-2 he kind of doesn't. Okay I touched on it but Tidus is obviously the dream expy of Shuyin. Shuyin is the real actual person who lived in actual Zanarkand 1000 years ago. Considering Shuyin is walking around as an Unsent, I'm gonna go ahead and say he wasn't a part of the Fayth in Mt Gagazet. Meaning Tidus is the dreamed up recollection of Shuyin from people who are not him. While Shuyin and Tidus share traits like being a star Blitzball player, Shuyin is far more angry and spiteful than Tidus. Maybe because Shuyin lived through a war and Tidus didn't.
HE NEVER EXISTED. HE'S NOT FROM ZANARKAND THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO. He was created within the memory and imagination of the Aeons, and was never real because of it.
After completing her quests, the Aeons make him real for Yuna.
that's pretty messed up. i couldn't continue ffx-2 because too much girl power bullshit. but glad i didn't because that seems like an ass of a story. thanks for your time though
X-2 is an odd game. I won't lie, I'm not a fan of the A plot. I implied it but I feel like it solely exists to turn a bittersweet ending into a happy one at the expense of FFX.
The B plot I liked more but it's concept was way too big for an asset flip game so it gets a shitty end. I'm still mad. I like 1000 Words though, fuck you.
Never played it because it looked like girl power shit, is it?
yes it absolutely is and in the cringiest way possible, like some kind of shitty romcom for young teenage girls. The gameplay is surprisingly kino though.
It is. It is very much 00s Charlie's Angels filtered through anime. If you've ever heard of Totally Spies, it's like that
The fayth do Yuna a favor. Pyreflies, bro
second question
Did you even play X? Or X-2 for that matter?
Appreciate the heads up.
Explain why/how Tidus comes back.
The Fayth were impressed with Yuna's dedication to improving the world and recollected his pyreflies to put him back together, as thanks.
And btw: where was he at the end of ff10?
Erased from existence. Tidus was effectively an Aeon, he's part of Dream Zanarkand, which is a massive Aeon summoned by the Fayth Wall on Mt. Gagazet. The Fayth wanted to pass on to the Farplane, but were kept in the world of the living by Yu Yevon. So they created Jecht and Tidus and had them sent to Spira to destroy Yu Yevon and free them. When you kill Yu Yevon and destroy Sin for good, the Fayth depart and the dreams end, along with the practice of Summoning.
Tidus knew all this and willingly went along with it to protect his friends.
Why does Yuna see him in jail or something
Tidus' appearance was based off an old Zanarkand blitzball player and soldier named Shuyin. Yuna mistook a record of Shuyin for Tidus and thought Tidus still existed somewhere, and set off to find him. Shuyin was sent to Bevelle to stop a superweapon from being fired at Zanarkand during the Bevelle-Zanarkand war, but was gunned down. His rage and hatred manifested as an Unsent after his death, and he steadily gathered power until he could activate the superweapon, aiming it at Bevelle this time. Yuna had to stop him to save the world.
a wizard did it
Kino
the Aeon-wizards decide to be cool and turn Tidus into a real person
Why can they do that?
It's because Tidus is functionally an Aeon. He's a dream of the Fayth, Pyreflies coalesced into a physical being. Normally a summoner needs to call an Aeon. But Tidus is an Aeon without a summoner. Effectively a real person. The Fayth even say they're not 100% certain it'll work when they try it. But I guess it did work. Yuna's fears that he'll just stop existing at any given point but Tidus just says they'll cherish each other for the time they have
FFX never needed a sequel. I never finished X-2 because it never made sense to me that X should have gotten a sequel to begin with.
The fayth brought him back. Maintaining sin and dream zanarkand is one thing but I doubt maintaining one dream person is overly demanding.
Same.
I even rebought the X/X-2 remaster, platinum'd X and then never touched X-2.
I got to chapter 5 in X-2 and then stalled. I can't kill the Mega Tonberry but I want Cry in the Night so out of frustration I stopped playing
mega tonberry
anon if you're doing the bevelle underground it'd be within your best interest to have mascot. Not necessary but it makes that far more bearable.
So Final Fantasy X tells a Christianity Jesus esqe story is what you are saying?
Ject becomes SIN who is also the father of Tidus
Tidus is Ject's only son who gets sent to Spira to liberate Spira once and for all from SIN
Spira is all caught up in retarded pagan beliefs and corrupt religious/political figure worship (Seymour) that don't actually work, its just band-aid solutions to their problems
Yuna gets to continue living on despite her love for Tidus because she is a roastie femin and femines are always mucking up the world with their sinful whoredom (she becomes a whore in X-2)
Tidus fulfills his mission that he never even consented to but the end at least implies to us that he was happy with how his life turned out and his friends he helped along the way
he never gets to start a family with Yuna therefore avoiding the inevitable drama and misery that comes with being with a femin. exactly as Jesus never married and died a virgin therefore never knowing the misery that is being with a femin
It actually amazes me more do not seem to grasp how Christian the story to FFX really is.
ITT retards who got filtered by ffx-2
Game is way too kino for dumb westerniggers to play anyway
nobody is being filtered by your slop. I am not being filtered by mcdonald when I decide to not eat junkfood.
So Final Fantasy X tells a Christianity Jesus esqe story is what you are saying?
No
You'd be filtered at the cash register for being too poor anyway McDonald's is only for sophisticated X-2 enjoyers not broke niggers who have to eat their moms tendies
Messed up? You know what's messed up? Playing X-2 to completion, getting 79% completion because you barely make it through, SEEING NOTHING AT ALL ABOUT TIDUS ANYWHERE, saying "fuck this gay game", then looking online and finding out you need to spam X at one specific point in the middle of the game for no reason to get the Tidus plot to even exist in your playthrough.
yeaaaah, good job square enix. That was the last time i ever bought one of your games, after owning every single game i could get my hands on. I wish the studio died when sakaguchi was kicked out. Well, it kinda did.
lol maybe its not what you meant but if you don't see the parallels with FFX and Christianity you just don't understand the bible or the game tbqh. Its been decades since my last playthrough but I'm pretty positive I remember the game correctly here for the most part. I need to do another playthrough one of these days.

lmao
So then Ject doesn't become SIN? And Tidus isn't the son of Ject? Explain where exactly I am wrong here.
Sin is made from a person sacrificing themselves to be turned into an Aeon and upon killing the old Sin, that new Aeon is absorbed by Yu-Yevon and turned into the mobility armor that is Sin.
Sin's purpose is merely to be a vessel for Yu-Yevon, who himself has become an apathetic soul-robot that has no real will of its own any more outside of [SURVIVE].
Sin is NOT in any way, shape or form related to Christianity, it was given the name by the religion founded by Yu-Yevon's daughter. Said religion only exists to give false hope to the masses while perpetuating the cycle of Sin and killing anyone who would want to change the status quo.
Stop thinking that everything is related to Christianity.

You are just arguing details, right got it. Ject still became SIN. That is the point.
Stop thinking that everything is related to Christianity.
And I never said everything was related to Christianity you fucking faggot. I said that it tells a Christian/Jesus esqe story and that the game has a lot of elements of Christianity clearly in it. For you to say it doesn't clearly tells me you are just butthurt for whatever reason about it. You don't have to even like Christianity. I am not even a Christian here.
Honestly I like the "bad end" much more than the normal one. X-2 is basically about Yuna trying to deal with loss, and she finally finds closure at the end.
What's the bad end?
it's amazing to me how this game is like almost 30 years old and i still see people post wrong shit about it that sounds like they only played the game for an hour before dropping it.
wrong shit about it that sounds like they only played the game for an hour before dropping it
This is why I never post about X-2 outside of how cool Vegnagun looks and how stupid its pipe organ control system is.
I played an hour, hated it and dropped it.
Yes, you should shut the fuck up
She fucks off with Rikku and Paine on the Celsius and reflects on everything that has happened, and is ready to start her new life.
Good ending has her go to Besaid and reunite with Tidus, and the perfect ending adds a somber scene between Yuna and Tidus in the Zanarkand ruins talking about how he might disappear again.
I never played X-2, I've tried multiple times but never got past a few hours into it because the game came off as really "girly" and gay and I just didn't like it so I gave up.
Gipple
DELORES
why does she keep seeing him in jail
The dressphere was originally Lennes, other than they both share the exact same outfit, the hallucinations are Lennes memories.
This is the most chinaman story I've ever heard.
That's makes no sense. In the sphere recording Shuyin says
No, I'm not sorry! I haven't done anything wrong!
I know how listening. If she was your girl, what would you do?
How can you blame me for trying to use your weapon? It was the only way I could save the summoner!
What would you do if you were me?
Let me out!
I want to see her...
That video was taken by a Bevelle soldier who caught Shuyin as he was trying to sneak into Vegnagun's chamber
he never existed
uhhh, then why is he in FFX?
