Starfield

I hope you're not still sleeping on Daggerfall in outer space anon.

I can not believe they designed the game to be this way with the loading screens

the game cost hundreds of millions and they couldnt figure out live streaming data in as the player moves through the world

I played like 130 hours of it when it came out
I love Toddslop
I love it so much

I have over 1300 hours in this game

This the one thing that pissed me off bad specially in the crimson fleet questline where if you're playing as a double agent you have to report back to the sysdef and go through 7 loading screens

npc : the view on top of the tower is to die for

go to the tower with the balcony

this is the view

I sincerely hope bethesda is shut down by microsoft

hows the modding scene for this game? im actually craving bethesdaslop. but i want coomer mods

this? Is it worth playing yet?

womp womp nigga

was never drawn to it for some reason, even though I’ve enjoyed all the other bethesda games I’ve played

"We want the NASA style. But not to worry about fuel, oxygen, toxic atmospheres, food, dealing with complex spaceship systems, long voyages, ships that look like remotely like actual rockets or going somewhere actually far away from other people."

It's my favorite game this generation, so no. What's your favorite thing about it so far, anon?

Imagine when this guy goes to play any other studio game and finds out you can enter a building to talk to 1 npc and theres no loading screen required to do it.
he's going to explode in orgasmic pleasure

You mean like with Oblivion Remastered?

Did some non-bethesda remaster studio using an engine made by not-bethesda accomplish such a feat?
no way

In starfield news, they started putting ads on the start screen

probably means one of those shitty huts out in the wilderness with no interior cell.

unreal 5 has all the tech baked in as in even if it stutters as you move across the world it loads data in dynamically and you dont need black screens between areas.

Not really. Loading screens are still all over the game. It's just OK because it's Oblivion this time and people like Oblivion.

I hate oblivion. It was my first TES game and I still rate Morrowind and Skyrim more highly.

Bump

The mods are very good and saved the game for me.

I bought Skyrim for 4€, played it ~45hr, I feel cheated and I want those hours back, never again.
Can't even mod the damn thing with what I wanted because of the new versions and needing to download a game worth of mods.

It's as if they want to take control of mods and get real work from underpaid modders.

somehow grummz gets proven more right as time goes on

view to die for

makes you want to kys

They weren't wrong

It’s honestly hilarious that Bethesda has gone from infallible industry darling to one of the main villains of AAA, what an arc

They should've ditched the whole galaxyborn schtick and instead improved upon realism systems like resource management, and instead of having way too many planets of little interest have fewer of them and the distances between them be much longer with plenty of sites sprinkled throughout (abandoned space stations, abandoned ships, obligatory alien homage abandoned ship with killer creature inside, occupied space stations and ships, abandoned and occupied asteroid mining sites, wormholes that teleport the player to bizarro dimensions...). Ships and space stations could easily be as big and intricate as skyrim's biggest dungeons, ventilation systems, airlocks and security procedures should play a really big part in them instead of just having bandits in droves.

I'm not. I like the artstyle, I like the gunplay, I also like bethslop. I'm a sucker for sci fi and this game is the closest feeling thing to running around in the same universe as something like The Expanse or Firefly.
I've also literally got modded Skyrim SE, (original) Oblivion, Fallout 3/NV modded with TTW, Fallout 4, and Starfield installed right now. Oh yeah, and Oblivion remastered now. I dare someone to say "Load screen!" as if it's this huge gotcha moment.
Making mods "achievement friendly" by charging money for them is also probably one of the shittiest things they've ever done, but it's easy enough to entirely avoid creation mods and who actually gives a fuck about achievements anyway.

Loadscreen

Is that ship/outfit from a mod or vanilla?

I got 300+ hours on it. I have my issues with it, of course, but overall? No ragrats. I'm waiting for the next DLC to hop back into it.

Imagine paying good money to look at these

AHHHHH
Ship is some repainted Crimson Fleet thing I stole and added extra rockets to, outfit is Freestar Dustwear with a Settler Adventerur hat. Factions like Freestar, places like Akila (muh dirt roads) and weapon manufacturers such as Laredo all lean heavily towards the space cowboy aesthetic in particular.
I've got a whole folder of 'citizens' from when the game released, but there's a simple mod that replaces the generic copy-paste mutt-NPCs with actual randomly generated humans instead (I also haven't paid a dime for the game).

Looks pretty cool, grats

link me the ones you got please

That’ll be 3500 Bethesda bucks

broooo

I do wonder why did starfield of all games have the worst looking background npcs
I mean, some side npcs look good but these beg the question:
Are people at bethesda leadership okay?
What are their fundamental values?
Why do they Ok this garbage?

Starfield is cooked once we get The Elder Scrolls 6: Tamriel and Beyond, and it turns out you can hop into a dwemer spaceship and go to Masser and Secunda (populated exclusively by hot moon khajiiti and moon goblins)

open prepackaged unity forest map

slap a sorta futuristic looking town in it

retards shit themselves and cum

Bravo Todd.

Because they unironically, literally just hit the randomize button for most NPCs. Bethesda are the laziest fat faggots in the industry by far.

i wonder if you stretched out all the exterior cells and laid them together in a grid would starfield have a bigger or smaller map than daggerfall

Todd is very lean and extremely proactive, delete your post or be court noticed!

Wasn't sharter space was an absolute flop dud?

CP has algorithmically produced background npcs, as do prob all large open worlds where the npcs walk around and can be killed?
its not the randomization part thats the issue.

I cant say much but I accidentally stumbled onto the varuun planet around level 30, and it was so boring I just went back to doing other stuff.

I put a few hundred hours into starfield and highly enjoyed my time with it, waiting for the DLC to come out this year so I can play more. Definitely one of the better games released in the past 5 years.

They randomized it too much causing oblivion looking weirdos to walk around. Hand crafted NPCs in Starfield are some of the best looking people in bethesda games.
