What is the best headset for gaming and why is it the Audio-Technica ATH-M40x?

Moondrop Blessing
Headshits give you gamer dent.
For me, its the Starfield 2 because I like the design on the box
i liked them but the hinge fell apart on the last pair i had and i wasnt even rough with them
I bought these twice and returned them, they were painfully tight, sounded like very cheap speakers and somehow damaged my hearing which took several months to go away both times, I don't get it, are most of these counterfeits?
closed ear for gaming
cable can't be unplugged from the earphones
I had a pair of these but a flemish giant snipped the cable in half with a single quick bite
They were good but I would say the AD-700X sounded better for gaming
But they also have the same cable flaw
you literally don't need more than a cheapo pos like zero 2 or maybe zero red
TFW I'm an IEM master race member
It feels good, lads!
IEM = Intelligent Elegant Men.
the cable can be unplugged from the earphones what are you talking about?
What happened to semi open headphones? Seems like your only option left are Superlux 681evo and similar headphones.

More like I hate my Eardrums so Much amirite?
iPod
Based I still have my Classic too. It has a battery life of about 7 minutes, which is all the time I can spare to play with you.
I have a pair of M50x for travel and they're okay. Not really good for gaming, but not bad. Get open back headphones for the better sound stage. My ATH-AD2000x have served me well for about a decade now.
What's a good pair of IEMs if you want something good but not crossing into that snake oil tier of audio equipment?
Because it's made by a company that specializes in audio equipment and not a gaming company trying to cash in on a bunch of techjunkie buzzwords giving a worser product.
What's "semi" open?
Based IEM bro
Nope!
Either modify your iPod Classic or buy a modified iPod Classic from one of these two people!

Audio-Technica ATH-M40x
no mic
whats the point?
Oh
It seems I had an older model that looks the same
The m50
The batteries are still available and still cheap, it's the actual act of opening the iPod that concerns me, as it does look like more of a job than my Dell Jukebox. I'll find someone to replace it for me eventually.
is that kotl ok
not m50x
bro
I've been using Sennheiser headphones for about 20 years. They sound great, never had a reason to change. German engineering.
They let some sound pass through from the outside.
imagine not having a real surround sound system and settling for fake virtualized shit. Even the most basic all in one surround system at least has real directionality and costs a few hundred bucks. Stereo is obsolete as fuck and only for music and retro games.
Yeah, opening any iPods is a pain in the neck because you have to use multiple prying tools simultaneously!
Memedrops have shit durability.
I got r50x instead, mega comfy.
just got a pair, honestly mogs both m40x and m50x.
This piece of crap is absolutely unsuitable for gaming, after several years of use I can no longer look at them without my ears and head hurting, they are so hard and tight.
You sound like a faggot and you also listen to music for faggots. Shit taste all around.
audiophile
horrific taste is music
classic
Got the Audio Technica ATH-MSR7B with a headphone amp and equalizer setup, everything sounds so good.
He vill spend $5000 in audiophile-tier cabling to listen to zome shitty pop track made with autotune and fruity loops recorded at 48khz but reencoded to a 396khz FLAC.
hd 598 cs :)
I use HD598. The ATH M50s were really uncomfortable and had high clamping.
dumb butt hurt ESL Indians are butt hurt because they don't like the music that I like
Good morning, Rajesh and Kumar!
Get wireless
I bought a nice set of sennheisers about a year ago and the wire fell apart in 2 months.
Also, you don't wanna have to take them off every time you go pee
No headset. Headset mics are always garbage. Sony wxm4 and a stand alone condenser mic.
that sounds like a skill issue bro
I bought the WS1100 because I like over ear and listening to high fidelity music. I've liked them so far
ENTER
It's not. In fact, most closed backs get shit on by chink IEMs under 50 bucks. If you aren't a retard, you'd be using an open-back, though. Get yourself one of the new Sennheiser offerings and call it a day unless you're a niggerbass enjoyer, in which case stick to IEM. Gaming headsets are a meme.
A standalone potato mic is like 10 bucks
Hey, that the earphone that the streamer who was on Anon Babble sticky thread used.
Anon Babble moderator team was a mistake
Headphones are for faggots who have to live with other people and cope
Explosions shake my entire house and I don't give a fuck
Don't do that to your cat.
M50 is tuned worse on purpose. no reason to use it over M40.
I use speakers.
None of this shit ITT can touch a Hyper X Cloud 2 Wireless for 20 bux
DT990
But I use speakers these days anyway. My tinnitus went away too.
Audio-Technica headphones have been the only ones I've ever had that lasted more than like four years of sustained use. I used to go through random Sony headphones and G430s like every two years because either one ear just stopped working out of nowhere or the plastic got so brittle it snapped until I was sick of it and bought an M30x due to random recommendations when I was Googling for some headsets. The thing lasted me four years and the only reason I replaced it (Because it was still working when I replaced it) was because the plastic connecting to the hinge that you could slide in and out cracked when it accidentally fell off my desk once and taping it to be stable enough so it wouldn't slip out of the tape caused a huge bulge on the side of my head to cause pain and scratches over long periods of use.
Will genuinely only ever buy this brand from now on, it was been the best headset money can buy for a very reasonable price. Opted to go for the M40x when I replaced it so that if the cable ever dies out I can just buy a new cable for like $10. It's already been a year of owning this one with no issues. Will probably splurge for the M50x when I have to replace this.
