MKWorld
Bravely Default
Deltarune (It's going to be tough having this come out on the same day as everything else, I'm gonna want to play World but I really don't want to miss the new chapter threads.)

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Digital, I travel a lot and I just have no point in buying physical anymore. I'm fairly confident I'll never be a position where I'll need to sell my games and otherwise they just collect dust.

I got the preorder and then realized that DK bananza is not a launch title
is MK fun to play alone/online?

you won the lottery?

I think so. Usually alone isn't super fun, but this MK already has more to do in singleplayer than there ever was in the past. And I've always personally loved going online and playing.

Preordered, but didn't pay yet. I'm not sure if it means my preorder is secured or not. I didn't want to commit in case there's some delay and I'll be able to get at some another retailer.
In any case, if I can't get it day 1 I'll be annoyed, although it's Thursday so it doesnt matter as much, but I doubt any restocking would happen by the weekend.
I wanted to get the new Pro controller but it seems stupid to do so since I have 2 functioning ones from Switch 1. Is there any reason to get the new one? The C button isn't even necessary to those who want to use chat since you can activate it from the menu anyway. Is the rumble better? The additional buttons dont seem to be used by default in any game, as far as I know its just there to map any other buttons if you feel like it. Seems like a missed opportunity to use in games to be honest.
An as Im getting the bundle most likely and Im interested in 1st parties usually, there's no other game to pickup for me right now. Unless Ill get this shitty demo for 10 bucks, which at this point fuck it, lets go with it.
Except of Mario Kart its always been and will be physical for me - simply so that I can sell the games I've beaten and got bored of later. Mario Kart isnt story heavy and has (theoretically) infinite replayability so in this case, considering I can save some money, I might get it digitally with the console.
Anyway either its me growing out of this hobby or the hype around Switch 2 really seems kind of dull generally. I dont mind as I dont participate in muh community as much anyway, but it feels weird after Switch 1 being such a success.

Yeah, but I think people who put in for the expensive multilingual version had higher odds.

Where have you pre-ordered?

What else are you picking up day 1?

Mario Kart, BotW Switch 2 edition, Yakuza 0, Shadow Generations, Gamecube NSO

nothing, I'm waiting for dk bananza, maybe I'll finally play totk with the upgrade

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

both as always, I believe that piracy is the only way to actually preserve media nowadays anyway

Oof sorry man. After the results came out I read on some Jap site from a poll they took that the normal model had a 20% chance and the multilingual model had like a 40-50% chance. Still pretty rough.
Although the sample size for the multilingual model was probably pretty low.
Either way good luck on the next round man, it sucks that the Nintendo store is the only way to get the unlocked version.

Where have you pre-ordered?

Gamestop and Nintendo Store

Pre-orders on Nintendo UK Store are now open to anyone with an NSO account

Where have you pre-ordered?

Big Dubya it's coming in the post.

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Depends on the speed.
Switch1 only had 25MB/s carts, where it could do a solid 90MB/s on SD cards (limit of the reader, even faster cards can't do more)

Nintendo Switch 2 World Tour

kek

some local store you have never heard
mkw
that’s all

I'll be real with you here
I will probably get it too, idk there won't be anything new to play for me(not really big on mario kart) and it might be nice to pass a bit of time with it

if it's half as good as astro's playroom I'll be ok with it

I pre ordered at GameStop and I'll be going there at 5 PM on June 4th to wait with all the dorks for the system to release at midnight

Where have you pre-ordered?

Best Buy, planning to attend the midnight release they've got scheduled. Already paid up through PayPal just so I don't have some $540 charge waiting to hit.

What else are you picking up day 1?

Just Mario Kart World that's bundled with it. Might order one of the GameCube controllers if I get an invite tomorrow.

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Digital. Gonna be moving a lot in the next year or two, and I doubt many third parties are gonna bother putting their full games on cartridges anyways.
I haven't gone to a midnight release since 2008. Are people really gonna be waiting that far in advance?

Midnight releases are fun, they're like tailgating at a football game

I'm going to spend the majority of this gen catching up on the backlog

it has no gameplay elements. it’s a digital manual.
and astros playroom was free

mk is fun online yes

it has no gameplay elements.

False.

Not buying a Switch 2

this. I didn’t have a GameCube, Wii or Wii U. I didn’t buy the 30fps slop on switch either.
Gonna play the 60fps versions on Switch 2 being all comfy in my blanket

Pre-ordered it as soon as I saw the gameplay.

Where have you pre-ordered?

Gamestop, MKW Bundle

What else are you picking up day 1?

Switch 2 Pro Controller and Shine Post

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Mostly digital.

I‘m not buying one until Splatoon 4 comes out. And I’ll only buy first party physical games.

post gameplay

I'll pick digital over keycards though.

Those are the worse than cancer.

I don't understand why you feel this way. I thought the big scary thing about digital games was that they were tied to a single account that can be nuked at a company's discretion. Why is a physical key to a download that can be used across multiple accounts and resold worse?

trying to use logic with a physical-fag

wait it's a lottery??
I thought you were guaranteed to get one if you registered and met the requirements

No lol 2million people registered in just Japan, I'm sure it's over 10million in America
There's no way they could manufacture that many that fast, the only way to guarantee a pre order was to go to GameStop first thing in the morning that day and wait for them to open, or to show up the day before launch and wait for a midnight release if you don't get the lottery

where

Target

what else

physical or digital

Physical whenever possible, but for key card selections I may go digital

Be a man. Alone is superior to dealing with idiots (friends) LOL

I didn’t get a pre-order.
Realistically, how long should I expect before encountering them passively?
I will not track shipments or any of that shit. I just want to go to the store and buy a MKW bundle.

September or October, sweet spot between launch and Christmas

Where have you pre-ordered?

I missed my chance.

What else are you picking up day 1?

Probably nothing, I just want the console and I'd be pleased if I managed to snag one on launch day.

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Physical as much as possible, except for game key cards, fuck that nonsense.

Amazon.
I've got the Mario Kart bundle, and I'll probably pick up Yakuza 0 too. I'll wait a while before getting a new pro controller. Depends on the game, but all the Nintendo games i buy will be physical, for the most part, third party will be digital.

$110 canuck bucks for games

Lol. Lmao even. So long gay bowser.

That seems scrupulous.
Everyone is saying stock was overall very good.
I doubt scalpers will run the show as they did ps5s.
Am I being naive thinking by July?

Where have you pre-ordered?

Media Markt, pre-ordered the Mario Kart Bundle

What else are you picking up day 1?
probably an SD card

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Mix of both I guess

Mario Kart World

Metroid Prime 4 Beyond

Donkey Kong Bananza

Hollow Knight Silksong

Pokemon Legends Z-A

Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity

solid first 6 months

The problem people have is eventually the servers will shut down, so if you uninstall a game off of your Switch 2, then go back to it when the servers are down, you won't be able to install it. It's all nonsense anyway, none of these people will be going back to these games on the Switch 2 when whatever new console is out by then.

July is definitely possible, I had a friend who just got lucky in like May by walking into a Walmart for Switch 1 launch year

I pre-ordered at Best Buy
I'm getting Mario Kart and probably Yakuza 0 DC. I might get the Rune Factory game. I've never tried one, but it looks cool and the whole game is on the cart.
I will still try to get physical most of the time

My Nintendo Store EU/UK just took pre-orders public today.
Dunno if you're a yank or not but I guess just keep an eye on things wherever you are.

Plus the June Direct will announce something like Splatoon or Animal Crossing

Where have you pre-ordered?

Nintendo Europe

What else are you picking up day 1?

MK (bundle) and Pro controller

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Probably digital for convenience. Physical often being considerably cheaper post launch on PS5 and Switch made it hard to justify digital though.

Where have you pre-ordered?

Gamestop. I'm excited for the midnight launch.

What else are you picking up day 1?

Not sure really. Maybe Pikmin 4 since I haven't played that one yet.

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Physical when I can, but with these key card things, I'll probably pick and choose what to get digitally or not.

I should order pizzas for my fellow midnight release incels

Where have you pre-ordered?

What else are you picking up day 1?

lol

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Digital, I guess. The plan is to archive new Switch 2 releases that I’m interested in until I can actually play them on something.

Nowhere.
There's nothing of interest for me other than maybe Bravely Default but I have my 3DS version, so I didn't bother.
Is it even possible to go physical at all with this.

Where have you pre-ordered?

Argos UK, Mario Kart World bundle

What else are you picking up day 1?

Pro Controller, GameCube controller, microSD express card, carry case with screen protector

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

My Switch 1 physical collection is huge, but the direction Switch 2 is going, I'll just go physical for the stuff I actually want to immediately play and concentrate on my backlog.
Game-Key releases can fuck off and I'll only grab ones with heavy discounts on the level of digital discounts.

For Nintendo games and a lot of first parties, yeah. With the digital only games you can at least sell your games

Best buy
Mario Kart because of bundle, and physical if the game isn't a game key card so probably just first party.

If I want a game that happens to be key card I'd still get it so I can sell it later

Not sure what you mean, if you want the game that implies you would redeem the card and it would become tied to your account. AKA the game key card would now be useless.

That's not true. If you put the key card into your system you can download the game and play it when the card is in. If you give it to someone else they can do the same. The game is tied to the physical card, that's the point, it's not a code in a box.

Where have you pre-ordered?

Walmart. Although it says they got a temp hold on the payment and don’t really know what that’s about, combined with preorders getting cancelled it has me a bit worried

What else are you picking up day 1?

Got the MKW bundle but also am getting the pro controller and carrying case (for the screen protector). I may get welcome tour, but ONLY because I got some spare bucks and gold points in my account, so it would only be like +$2 max

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Digital, it’s how I keep my current games anyway

IMG_5550.gif - 220x356, 1.07M

Didn't know that. Better than a code in a box but still trash compared to proper physical games.

Hmm. I see.

I'll find out tomorrow, hopefully.

People are still able to download their Wii games and that shit has been dead for 15 years at least. I think Nintendo will sooner go out of business than customers losing access to their digital downloads, but I understand the reluctance to spend good money on what amounts to little more than faith in a corporation to uphold their end of the deal.

Good luck, Anon. I was going to leave it to chance before realizing how insane that was. I secured a preorder elsewhere, but I'm still interested to know whether or not I was justified in doing so.

To be fair, i didn't know this, seeing as everyone who kicks up a fuss about it has never mentioned this fact, and it's not a big deal for me so i never looked into it.

So much of the anxiety around digital can be assuaged by simply realizing "Oh yeah, I can pirate anything at any time." If Nintendo doesn't allow me to re-download Super Mario Odyssey in 10 years I'm sure it will not be hard to find.

There's always the possibility of piracy becoming harder. You never know

I hope they resend my invitation to someone else if I get one since I already pre-ordered

It would be really nice if there was an option to say you're not interested instead of letting the 72 hours they reserve it for you run out. Would help someone without a preorder get one sooner.

It does amuse me when people have accepted the digital world in other platforms (especially Steam on PC) but somehow Nintendo giving the extra perk of a resale/trade with the key cartridge and everyone in the West lose their fucking minds instead of reflecting a slight bit. Even the argument of "but the download servers will shut down" is a literal nonsensical thing while I wouldn't doubt one second many of these people complaining have a Steam account with 200+ games.

Where have you pre-ordered?

Amazon

What else are you picking up day 1?

Shine Post and a carrying case + screen protector
I have a pro controller preordered too but I don't know if I'm going to bother keeping it or not

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Physical but it doesn't mean much when almost every third party is doing the download key bullshit

Not seeing getting one until christmas, im not interested in mario kart, focus on online really killed the franchise for me.

If that happened to me I'd just find a friend who wants it and sell it to them MSRP

Don't forget Air Riders and the new Layton game

Nintendo needs to start announcing release dates

Thats only half of it. Physical is so you don't have to worry about popping in the game in 20 years after Nintendo's servers have shut down. So yes the key cards are good for resellers but worthless to collectors.

I signed up for the official Nintendo pre-orders that start going out tomorrow.

Walmart. My order hasn't been cancelled. June 5 launch day release. $450 non bundle, please understand. Not buying a single game for it on launch year unless price drops happen. Too much money and keycartridges are a boycott.

I might buckle under pressure for Donkey Kong's bananas smoothie in July. Most of Anon Babble is third world and unable to secure a Switch 2 or Europeans and they have spent all their social welfare checks on Ukraine money, lulz.

buying welcome tour

This "game" has absolutely nothing fun going for it and your way better of buying literally anything else.

If we all stick together, I guarantee you, you'll be playing it for free within a year and then you find out it's just doing homework about a piece of hardware you bought.

Slim chances any of us get it

They fucked I’m the aesthetic of survival kids, emulate the gbc game instead.

Survival Kids was great on the GameBoy. Based taste.

Where have you pre-ordered?

Nintendo EU (I was selected)

What else are you picking up day 1?

Mario kart
BOTW and TOTK expansion packs
Deltarune

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

This is probably gonna be my last console. I'll keep buying as much physical as possible, because it's fun to collect and games will eat up your data in no time.

Buying the console but boycotting all the games.

Why tho?

My PS5 is all physical and I don't relish the idea of downloading 100GB games on the Switch 2. People who go all digital on Switch 2 or buy game key carts are in for a rude awakening when their games are going to be staggering 60GB. And Switch 2 uses MicroSD Express cards, a 1TB cost $199. All Nintendo 1st party games are on the cartridge, so for me it'll just be a 1st party only game console.

All Nintendo first party games have the data on the cartridge. The Switch 2 will let me play a lot of my Switch 1 physical games with faster framerate, like the Pokemon games. I fucking hate the fan noise on my launch era Switch so I'm more than happy to pump and dump it for a Switch 2. Not buying digital, not buying game key cards, just gonna use it for 1st party Switch 2 and BC Switch 1 games.

Simple as.

Makes sense. Wonder if Nintendo will ever let their games go on sale this time around. Highly doubt it though.

here's your new ui bro

Where have you pre-ordred

Best Buy

What else are you picking up day 1

Pro Controller
TotK Switch 2 upgrade pack
Mario Kart World (bundled)

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Was solely physical last gen but will probably be digital only this gen simply because I don't ever sell my games and the older I get the less plastic tat I want lying around collecting dust or having to pack them all into boxes when moving.

Boot up console

Don't get Disney Plus ads

No idea what's new and trending in personalized recommendations

:( Why even bother buying a game system

Where have you pre-ordered?

nowhere and I can't get one anymore sold out everywhere fucking hell

What else are you picking up day 1?

nothing

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

I just want Duskbloods and Metroid.

Suddenly miss the Wii U plaza

>Are you going physical or digital this gen?

I just want Duskbloods and Metroid.

For some reason this gave me the energy of asking my little cousin what he wants for dinner and he starts talking about Paw Patrol

Unironically the best console home screen ever done

I need to build a new rig first so that shit is gonna wait

People who go all digital on Switch 2 or buy game key carts are in for a rude awakening when their games are going to be staggering 60GB.

I already have gone full digital on the Switch 1.
While I will have to deal with the smaller MicroSD Express till the higher storage is available and more affordable, it will be far easier to download and install games on the Switch 2 since the transfer speeds won't be severely bottlenecked like on the first Switch.

I wonder if there's going to be a sudden outpouring of 2025 release dates now that GTA6 was delayed and no one has to compete with it.
Can't wait for Mario Kart's marketing to end so Air Riders' can start.

based cousin maybe watch some Paw Patrol with him?

digital fags be like

downloads one game

60GB stolen

download another game

40GB stolen

downl-error delete for more space

delete old Switch 1 games/DLC

110GB for FF7 Remake Part 1 downloaded

2TB MicroSD Express costs 400 dollars

The utter state of digital faggotry on switch 2. If you were all digital on Switch 1 and you're going into Switch 2, you'll at best have 150GB to play with. And just 3 games will eat it all up. Physical chads stay strong.

I can deal with internal 256GB + 256GB microSD Express in the meantime, and rotate the games I want to play while keeping the usual stuff I regularly do on short bursts (such as shmups, roguelites, arcades, etc.). Download speeds are not going to be bottlenecked like on the first Switch either, so it'll be likely much faster to download a 40GB game on the Switch2 than downloading a 15GB title on Switch1.

I can't see myself owning that many cartridges because it sounds a lot more inconvenient in practice compared to digital.

Anyone else in the SEA region trying to figure out how to get a switch 2?

My PS5 is all physical and I don't relish the idea of downloading 100GB games on the Switch 2.

This so much. I wonder how the people who make Splits Fiction can fucking sleep at night after releasing an 80GB game that doenst have a physical version.

I already have gone full digital on the Switch 1.

I'm amazed you were able to survive like this. I downloaded Rocket League in year 1 of release and it immediatly got a 20 GB patch, so I did away with it. My DLC/eshop only games already take up all the space, let alone having to switch between 30 different single player games.

Because I would want to play the game right off the bat instead of having to use my shitty wifi.

What about regions which lack an official eshop? How are they going to expect to sell any of these digital keycard only games there assuming the average consumer in these regions doesn’t know how to set their account region to access another country’s eshop? Do game keycards even work without eshop access?

You have to download the game in both scenarios. A game key card doesnt contain the game.

Go to the factory and grab one

you do understand you download the game to the machine even on a cartridge right?

Pre-ordered at Fucking Gamestop. Space is running out and I'm more accepting that there's only a handful of games I'll care about where I'll be mad if they unavailable so definitely digital a lot more this gen. Even rebought Pikmin 4 digitally so Switch will fix the loading times.

Target's been good to me.
Mario kart bundle, DK bonanza, that new rune factory game.
Never actually played a rune factory game, apparently it's a spin off or something but like I've never played one so that doesn't really mean much to me.

Game keycards are better than serial codes, 100%. No one will argue against this. But game keycards are a solution to a Nintendo problem. Actually this goes back to the 1990s, so just shut up and listen.

Nintendo owned the physical production of their game cartridges (NES, SNES, N64). And with it came the cost of having to order only from Nintendo and a specific amount, otherwise you have unsold inventory if the game was a bomb. Inventory was important. N64 games and hell, SNES, also cost around 70-80 bucks back then. Because it was only through Nintendo and their cartridges.

When Sony came to the scene with dics, anyone could mass produce discs anywhere in the world were it was cheapest. CD-ROMS could also hold higher storage of game data (Final Fantasy 7 was cancelled on N64 for this reason). The price of games went from 70-90 dollars to 20-50 dollars in the PS2 and PS2 era, that's huge!

So back to 2025 and the Switch 2. The Switch 2 microSD Express cards that Nintendo uses and other tech company use are expensive, like 1TB=$200 expensive. Nintendo's solution was a 1GB cartridge that has DRM for game ownership and resell rights, but all digital. This lowers the cost of games on both consumers and publishers, but it's all digital. It's a solution to their own problem. If Switch 2 games had mandatory installs from old MicroSD speeds, it wouldn't be an issue.

Anyhow, fuck gamekey cards. Not buying. Just sticking to physical Nintendo 1st party games.

Oh yeah, getting RMX Fusion and Mario Kart.

A physical game disc/cartridge with all the data on it don't need to use WiFi, little retard bro.

how bad is your internet?

This highlights something interesting.
How many Switch 2 exclusives are we going to get?
They need a few to encourage sales, but making a game Switch 2 exclusive is them deciding the game isn't able to run on Switch 1.

We know they're continuing to release Switch 1 games like Rhythm Heaven Groove, and Tomodachi way into 2026, so it makes sense for them to continue releasing games that run on Switch, and run better on Switch 2.

pre orders went live on amazon so i just preordered

Anyone else here from Singapore being cucked out of the switch 2’s “global” launch?

Mario Kart for June, DK for July, Kirby DLC in August, September direct for release dates.

Unlike Sony and Microsoft, they sell both their new and old systems at a profit, so Nintendo has every incentive to make you buy a new system, they aren't having to tell shareholders "Yes selling this box loses us money, but it'll be worth it in a few years."
Therefore they can go full send on exclusives for the new system and make Switch 1 players feel like they haven't been abandoned, but they are just getting little budget games while the real party is happening on thew new box.
The biggest title I could see coming to Switch 1 is a Splatoon spinoff or something.

dude just own nothing lmao

dude xbox 360 marketplace, wii marketplace, 3ds, and wii u shutting down is cool

just renew more digital lmao

The last time someone said this it killed a console. I believe it was the Xbox One. They haven't recovered since then.

I think we'll get a June Direct, we never haven't gotten one. Ever

your scaremongering over digital videogames is very silly

Why are you pretending Nintendo is going all digital? It's just some publishers who are cheaping out

literally just the same as Switch 1

You had one simple job, Nintendo, and yet you couldn't even give us soulful menu like this
youtu.be/PoDO4P8TyD4?si=6KpNAp38J0QikvKu

500 dollars

literally only runs Mario Kart

I'll buy it next year at a 45% discount

cosby.gif - 460x350, 460.79K

I'm curious is it bait or do you actually think they'll drop the price

That looks like shit

Third worlders are angry at the Switch 2 hardware price. game software price bitching is fair, though, that is bullshit at 80 dollars.

Wii U = Switch 2

Where have you pre-ordered?

Gamestop, was super easy. Fuck doing that shit online it's a retarded shitshow.

What else are you picking up day 1?

I did physical Mario Kart to save storage space, also getting a pro controller 2 and camera so my friends can watch my O-face when I red shell them.

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Physical for all games that support it and digital for games that do game key cards and no real physical. Good thing I also ordered a 512GB express micro SD.

Pre-order

I'm waiting a few years for a good line up of games. Putting 50 bucks aside each month so by the time i do buy the thing I can get all the games worth playing.

discount

lfmao
Nintendo discounts are rare and usually very small.
And mario kart is *the* system seller, that one will never go down.

Man that survival kids game looks gross. That one and the cripple ball game have me worried.

They really don't. Announcing shit too early kills a lot of hype. CAN'T WAIT FOR GTA AND ELDER SCROLLS WHEN I'M 45

Where have you pre-ordered?

Best Buy

What else are you picking up day 1?

Just MKW with the bundle

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Physical if possible

Question: I gave Best Buy my credit card info, but when I pick it up in person on midnight can I pay in cash instead?

All my physical Switch games I bought this year were actually used Switch games in the second hand market. Digital slaves *own nothing* and have no discounts. I bought Mario Wonder for 30 dollars physical, that is still full price digital.

I just meant for games that are announced like Air Riders, Zelda Warriors, etc

Indent manage to secure a pre-order :(

Digital slaves *own nothing* and have no discounts.

We have something called Deku Deals that can easily disprove such claims

Oh wow 5 dollars off. Such a discount

IT MUST BE ON THE HECKIN CARTRIDGE

It has to be redditors no one actually cares about this shit. And I guarantee anyone that does has a huge "collection" of Steam games that they don't even think twice about

Do you think there’ll be any visual novels that only release on switch 2 and not the original switch? Will such VNs be key card releases only?

WHERE ARE THE ADS?

Fuck off, Blues Clues or nothing.

Until gamefreak actually starts putting some fucking effort into Pokemon games I see no reason to buy a Switch 2

PL Z-A.png - 744x487, 715.28K

and have no discounts

The EU physical prices are €10 higher, just so stores can give a discount.

How are the Japanese used game stores going to handle game key card releases? Just by not accepting trade ins of game key cards at all?

Why wouldn't they? If you buy a used one it'll work until the eShop goes offline. When they stop supporting it they'll be worthless though, so probably they'll pay a decent price now and almost nothing five years from now when the shutdown is getting closer

How do they guarantee the card wasn’t activated, though

Why do people want an anime franchise like pokemon to look hyperrealistic so bad?

I can't believe there's still so much complete lies about the game key cards
It DOES NOT MATTER if someone else activated it. It is NOT a code in the box
If you give your game key card to someone, they can play the game. They just need to download it and keep the cart plugged in when they want to play it

THIS! SO MUCH THIS!

Im robbing one like i did the last one idrc how much it costs

That's not how it works, retard.

Reminder that 45% of Anon Babble is from Baltimore Maryland

I intentionally stopped playing games on Switch including TotK because I wanted to save them for Switch 2. and now I'm laughing my ass off

sold OLED Switch two weeks ago for good money

preordered MKW bundle + Pro 2

midnight release happening

took Thursday and Friday off from work

can't fucking wait

I WAITED IN THE LINE AT GAMESTOP FOR 5 HOURS, I AM BETTER THAN ALL OF YOU

Take me back

I'm better than you I made my girlfriend do it then grabbed the receipt after

Unironically, I'd love to see something like Okami, just to see it.

Where have you pre-ordered?

My Nintendo - I sent my request Day 1 so hopefully I get in on the first preorder batch starting tomorrow.

What else are you picking up Day 1?

Just MKW and going through a small backlog of Switch games I havent gotten to yet

Physical or digital?

Physical as often as possible

Where have you pre-ordered?

Nedgame, dutch retailer.

What else are you picking up day 1?

Bravely default: Flying fairy HD remaster
Mario Kart World
Yakuza 0 directors cut
Rune Factory

Are you going physical or digital this gen?

Don't care.

ugly UI

takes half a minute to get to friend list

loading screens between menu screens

Why do tendies want this so bad?

buying reddiza 0

I get launch week is exciting but c'mon lads have some standards

What is the point of needing to download it and then still having to have the card inserted to play it compared to buying it digitally which takes up the same space and doesn’t require you to insert anything?

You can sell it or give it to someone else.

How do you preorder the Switch 2 in a region that doesn’t have the My Nintendo store??

You've gotta go to a retailer that does pre orders

Bros I can't wait for the Air Rider threads.
It's gonna be so much fun

i wish squids were real

I miss Miiverse every damn day

Then which eshop do you have to download the game from with a key card version? If I buy a key card in Japan that’s a JP version, do I need a Japanese nintendo account to play the game I bought? What about regions without an eshop like mine, how do they expect to sell key card games there?

This is just a guess, but it'll just use your system language/ region. I The download servers or sometimes the games themselves are already multi-region.

That part we probably won't know until people do edge case testing hands on

It is outright stated that you do NOT need a Nintendo account in order to download the data from the key cartridge.
It's pretty impressive how people refuse to read or look up the official source, as well as making things up like "the download servers will go down" when people can still download the Wii games they purchased eons ago.

YOU NIGGAS READY? INVITES GO OUT TOMORROW.

This is what they’ve said for my region and no retailers seem to know any further details, I’m stumped….

Ehhhh no. Unless a VN can’t graphically run on NS1(which there isn’t any) all VNs will be on Switch 1 and Switch 2. Especially since the Switch 1 is at 150M units sold and currently the BEST selling console of all time in Japan.

What if Tsukihime Red Garden takes long enough that Nasu decides it needs to be a switch 2 exclusive, like how he decided that the Tsukihime remake “needed to be experienced on a TV” so no PC release even now?

Not interested until it has more games

People are too lazy to look up the official source, they rather listen to morons online even though most of the time they're straight up lying or have no idea what they're bitching about

I got the nintendo uk store invite and I could then pre-order it, pretty simple
Only launch game there really is is MKW so that, with dk and air riders after. I'll wait until people's impressions to see if forgotten land's switch2 edition is worth it
Unfortunately over here they're charging more for physical, so digital

its why i still havent bought a PS5

Do you think the Nintendo Museum’s shop will be selling international switch 2 units?

It’s a museum, not a retail shop

Walmart has some more pre-orders open
