I resubbed a month ago after 12 years.
I barely see any dracthyr at all becuase everyone thinks the model looks like shit (which it does, it looks so fucing stupid, at the Worgen looked col back in the day except the female one that one looked bad too).
What I do see loads of are Elves - especially Blood Elves followed by Night Elves, Humans, Dwarves (not Earthen), etc.

Nah, there are a lot of things to collect even without fomo. I don't have many FOMO achievements or titles or gear, but I have some, and I really like them. FOMO is a part of the game(s) now; it won't go away ever. Also, they learned and are introducing new FOMO all the time for players to get more status shit. And new players usually don't care about that for years because there is new, pretty, non-FOMO stuff. I was mostly talking about the big world of Azeroth, though. I hope Riot can deliver, but honestly? I believe that they don't believe they can beat WoW/create a better MMO.

This is what killed it for me as well. I think my addiction could have forgiven the content getting easier over time. But all the gay fomo, on top of having a paid store despite being a premium subscription game, and of course the story literally dropping off a cliff after WOTLK, and then turning into complete irredeemable nonsense in SL/DF. It all just dogpiled into something I have no desire to touch ever again. What a trashfire. Nothing short of retconning the story back to WOTLK and removing all the previously mentioned elements could bring me back.

Vanilla-TBC-WotLK itself were absolutely abysmal story wise, though, they just cannibalized and destroyed the RTS lore. There was no point in WoWs history where it ever had decent writing or story, it just somehow got worse and worse over time, but it started at a low point in the first place.

i never played wow at its peak and it somewhat bothers me..

So I’m XIVfag but Dawntrail made me finally try WoW. I’m actually having a lot of fun with Classic but I couldn’t stand retail for more than an hour. The only thing positive I can say about it is that Frostbolt was a lot more fun to click and had a nicer sound in retail than in Classic.

Classic isn’t the same but it’s still a nice experience overall I think. You still have people questing around and organically partying up.
Last night I hung out with a random dwarf paladin and we did a bunch of quests for a couple of hours.
