I thought that Ocarina of Time and Breath of the Wild had the best depictions of her to date.
I was very disappointed in Tears of the Kingdom not keeping her around as a supporting character in the story. TotK feels like the video games equivalent of Airplane II: The Sequel to me. I found that game to be insultingly phoned-in.

You really think so? I think that the series revolving around Zelda in name makes Link's adventures that much more noble, by virtue of his altruism.
I enjoy that Link's adventures are essentially thankless to the majority of the people in his world, known by name only to the people that he interacts with personally. It makes him more heroic in my eyes.

That's not at all what I'm arguing in favor for! I think it makes sense that Link's adventures would be referred to as The Legend of Zelda.
The player is allowed to enter their own name in most of the entries in the series, but the games always revolve around a quest that involves a character that is specifically named Zelda.

They're not! You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of Link as a character, no offense.
He doesn't do what he does for personal glory but because it is just. This is what I've always taken away from these games, at least. I truly mean no offense and hope you see where I'm coming from with this.
There's nothing remotely emasculating about Link's name being nowhere in the titles of these games for me. He does what he does for the sake of Hyrule, typically at the behest of Zelda. Do you get where I'm coming from?
