PLAY FF7 REBIRTH

I already platinumed it

I will just play the original again.

It's a sequel, not a remake.

Wasn't Advent Children already a sequel? What the fuck even is this? Who the fuck asked for sequels, people wanted a remake, FF7 was a complete story, it didn't need a fanfiction sequel.

I am. Just got to Cosmo Canyon recently.

man does it really look that bad? it looks def worse than remake

post waifus

ill play when all 3 parts are released and combined into a single game

Well, it became an open world, so the graphics level had to be lowered. I had a hard time accepting it at first, but I liked Chocobo and the wider world. And now I don't really care about it. Also, I play on ps5.

Ok :)

I tried but it was too boring

Played and Platinum’d it and Remake for the first time on my Piss5 last year. Really liked them and while I have some gripes for some things being different to the original it wasn’t enough to not make me hate them. Hope Part 3 comes to the Piss5 otherwise I’ll get them on PC as well as I’m anal about having all games in a series being on the same platform for me to play (E.g. Batman Arkham games, Witcher games). I hope Aerith is good in the MtG crossover because I want her in my Selesnya EDH deck.

As much as it has issues with bloat I really don’t think anyone can deny it redid the old tracks really, really well and the newer good are pretty good too.

Nah.
I don't own a modern console, and I already enjoy my experience with (1997) FFVII.

I don't own a modern console

Prior to my Piss5 the last console I bought that wasn’t my PC was my WiiU back in 2013. You’re not missing out on much if anything as all games now come to PC within a year or two now (except Ghost of Tsushima taking 4 years and Red Dead Redemption somehow taking nearly 15).

Played through it once and did every side quest and most of the VR challenges. The game fucking sucks.

I am, just got to Costa del sol. jenova birth was cool

I never got that far in the OG version but was it also filled with so many mandatory non combat mini games?

I replayed the original earlier this year with mods on PC. Before that I played it were as a kid in 2003 and just before first year uni in 2015 on a hand-me-down PS1 which died during that time. Even with quality of life improvements it still had a fair amount of minigames that you had to play to some extent. Definitely less than Rebirth but also way worse in terms of controls.

Lol mini game is signature of FF7

Not really. There's a handful of minigames in 7, many of them skippable. And it's one 30 hour game.
I've never heard of anyone dropping 7 because they were sick of the minigames.
Rebirth is part 2 of a trilogy, far too long as it is, and with so many unskippable minigames and practically none of them are fun. It's no surprise many didn't finish the game because they found it tedious.

Its like damn I just want to progress through the story and do some quests but then im stuck playing a card game, playing Clash Royale, Miku rhythm games, Chocobo racing, Rock'em Sock'em Robots, Shooting Gallery, Road Rash, Mushroom picking, and whatever else tedious thing im missing.

After it got brutally mogged by a clearly superior game? No way lmao

I will admit the amount of bloat is one thing I really did not like at all about the game. I think if they’d cut down the size of some of the regions (E.g. make all but 2 the size of Cosmo Canyon excluding all the Chocobo traversal shenanigans and the remaining 2 could be the regular zones we got in places like the Grasslands and around the Gold Saucer), halved the minigames and didn’t introduce the BS minigame hard modes, it would have been fine. Story-wise, my only issue regarding bloat was the second half of Nibelheim with Cait Sith and part of the Temple of the Ancients, but otherwise it was pretty good.

Same. I purchased a Wii U "Zelda Windwaker" version because it was on sale for, like, $50 back in 2015. Purchased MH3U, XCX, Super Smash Bros. and a couple other small games like "Art of Balance Wii U" because the music was what I like.

What the fuck is his problem?

Break it to me fellas, I'm done hiding. I've held off from so much information about the remake and rebirth because I was put off by some spoiler moments in the first game before release that confirmed they had changed the story from the original. Something about time traveling ghosts and some scene with Aerith screaming into the wind which through me off, it's been years now but should I just cave and play them both?

My friend took me to a Final Fantasy orchestra event and they actually spoiled the ending of the remake, I didn't know the games were so different from the original but apparently there's some fucking demon at the end of the remake you fight? They had it on screen playing the battle theme for that boss and it fucking broke me, if I had known they were going to spoil shit like that I'd have at least looked away

I'm playing through the original now to get a feel for the whole game then contemplating the remake and rebirth

based

I'm too old to care or complain because it doesn't help. Also, maybe this is the last game before WW3 happens, who knows? Anyway, the main story is the same as before. It changes something But it helps add many things that were vague. and not very well done in the original, both good and bad

already have BUT i still havent gotten around doing the last challenges after the game is done
idk if theyre good or not but i pretty much did all the combat sims up until the end of the game and i kinda wanna do all of them

“Uh oh what’s going on?”

“I don’t know”

The end. Saved you 80 hours

After Clair Obscur I'm actually in the mood for more high budget JRPG I'll probably do Rebirth and/or XVI this summer.
Which one do I play first bros?

Rebirth is leagues better. XVI is just a shitty DMC clone.

I wanted to get a Wind Waker WiiU but they never offered it in Aussieland and while they did a $50 price decrease in most parts of the world after the first year’s abysmal sales, they hiked it by $60 and $70 here and in New Zealand respectively. Unsurprisingly not many people had one and I was grateful I got in before that happened.

Given what he does later in the temple, it’s clear that the closer he gets to the Black Materia the more influence Sephiroth can exert over him until he has what he wants from Cloud.

Some parts from the originals are still the same or close to the same, but it’s one of those sets of games that acts as both a remake and a sequel with some weird multiverse plot going on as Sephiroth, Aerith and (to lesser extents) Cloud and Red know/see the events of the original game. It’s also no longer turn based and it’s more closely aligned with XV and XVI’s systems as well as Kingdom Hearts from what I saw of a friend playing that as part of our Friday night game sessions when they tried to get me into that (I don’t like Disney so it naturally failed). Also, Remake is about 50 hours long and covers the Bombing Run to the group leaving Midgar and Rebirth covers Kalm to the end of Disc 1. My advice is to get Remake on PC when it’s on sale (not sure where you are but I’ve seen it go as low as $40 dollarydoos) then play it. If you don’t like Remake you probably won’t like Rebirh.

Will i hate remakes if i absolutely despised the FF7's extended universe but liked the original?

BUT i still havent gotten around doing the last challenges after the game is done

I will warn you now that the Rulers of the Outer World, To Be a Hero and Bonds of Friendship are absolute motherfuckers to get through and bad RNG can badly fuck you over. The latter took me 65 tries before I found success due to Odin’s bullshit in the final round.

There are enough references to the compilation material and there are parts of Rebirth you’ll despise as they involve certain characters from said material so probably.

Listen to the soundtrack of rebirth

There is only one single song that sounds like it came out of the original soundtrack

Why the fuck do they INSIST on butchering the music so much. They'll at best give you a taste of the original melody for 10 seconds before they just completely change the entire feel of the song and it doesnt even feel like its from FF7 anymore.

youtube.com/watch?v=CKLwhMexot8
This is the only good song

Yes. But play the demo anyways as they ruin so much of the story/pacing in the demo alone that if you dont notice them you might actually be the retarded audience this game is going for

Fuck if I know what your tolerance for bullshit is get the fuck out of here

shit's been out for 5 years

Anyway, the main story is the same as before.

This is why they're such a waste of time IMO.
Not interested in sinking over 100 hours into a rethread thats 95% the same story anyway.

Bit surprised you only like that one. Even amongst die-hard haters I’ve seen most agree the music was alright with other highlights including Grasslands, Cosmo Canyon, Jenova’s theme (both on Shinra boat and City of the Ancients), and a few others that vary.

Release the full thing and uncensor it.

Yes but the game is worth it if you’re a fan

Just seeing Tifa and Aerith glean at you in HD is great

Grasslands

Its whatever

Cosmo Canyon

Way too much going on. Were at a small native american village but yet it sounds like its a 300 man orchestra

Jenova

Takes like 5 minutes of the song to get to the good part. if 80% of the song sucks then it sucks

Already did, amazing combat, everything is good except for the Ubislop side content and censored Tifa and Yuffie
