It insists upon itself

It literally doesn't. The singular complaint is that vagueness makes the audience uncomfortable which is hilariously the theme of the game.

It really does. No reason to exist.

It really does. Completely unnecessary and contrived. It was a huge mistake to connect this to Xenoblade, it should've just been its own thing.

XC1 thread

XCX thread

XC3 thread

Alright where is the one for 2?

Still miles better than 2

...on opposite day!

Nah.

Xenoblade 2 was actually more up it's own ass, but nobody wants to admit that.
3 just continued what it started.

That's comparing shit to diaherria

XC1 is nonstop dickrided for being the first and the only one with soulful lowres PS2 era graphics instead of anime celshading graphics

XC2 is constantly brought up in a negative light with daily ">japanese humor" threads

XC3 has zero discussion

Why is this?

It's just bad period. No one cares enough to discuss about it other than the Rex meme image.

game has identity

game has identity

game is messaging and theming first and it's identity is a grey mishmash of other two games

As much as high intellect posters like to think XC3 is the best one because they 'got it', it doesn't change the fact that it's pretty damn soulless

mrblack.png - 268x318, 107.31K

Nobody wants to hear this but xeno 3 exposes Nintendo for following a formula without making the the games GOOD

Is it just me or do all the other Switch Xenoblades look worse than X?

The truth is that none of them are good. Take out the anime shit and people would stop defending the games.

I'm sorry Gex isn't in Stinky Bros

X is the best looking one for sure

1 was great and new. 2 had fanservice and there was something interesting buried under a mountain of terrible game design. 3 was neither.

It felt so unnecessary it retroactively messes with the first two to justify its own existence and diminishes them both in the process. It was also pretty boring on its own. If this was supposed to be the plan all along it certainly didn't feel like it.

3 was the best because they threw a bunch of the tired tropes away. 2 was thinly veiled goonerslop

X was the last time monolith soft had the full team working on just one game

It's literally because of the music that makes soiboys think it's le epic and mature
Maybe it's brainwashing, I don't know.

its boring, it built and refined on everything the series has built upon mechanically but the story and design choices played it so safe there isn't much worth fucking discussing.

Unless you get to kill everyone and the game stops encouraging you to be a pack mule to ungrateful NPCs, then I don't see how it "throws away tired tropes".

Go back to resetera faggot

tropes are 'le bad'

Don't you have some subversive Hollywood nepo-faggot slop to be guzzling down right now?

ALL games do.

Tropes were ok the first 500 times I saw them, but I'm not 14 anymore

NTA but yes, they are. Why should I tolerate them when they bring the game experience down?

Mythra constantly abuses the main character, smacks him, punches him, belittles him

I'm not allowed to viciously smash her teeth in with a pipe wrench because....??????

Because it's boring. You may hate me for saying this, but 2 has better character design than 3 does. It sucks dick, plain and simple.

xeno3 fag can't handle his shit game being shit so he has to bring it down to "all games"

people are discussing the most important factor of a jrpg

the horror

I mean the gameplay isn't that interesting either compared to the rest of the series.
X did the class system better, 2 did combos and chains better, 1 did trinity roles better.

Because we don't like it. Simple as. We believe that XC3 is one of the worst games of all time, on par with Oblivion Remastered. It ain't E33, that's for sure. Old is good and new is bad, this but unironically. Let me guess, you need more?

Story genre
Fuck off back to mindlessly clearing missions in an openworld Ubislop game

If all you care about is the story, then it's not a video game. It's basically a movie. At that point it's no different from playing TLOU or Uncharted.

i skip all dialog and cutscenes and never looked back

That IS pretty much how I treat xenoblade games, though. I genuinely don't think the gameplay is that good at all, in any of them

Anon Babble xenoblade threads are the most dishonest autismfest shit I've ever witnessed
what causes this? nintendo fanboyism? cuz I don't see this kind of attitudes in any other anime game fanbase, not even Persona.

Used to have an online friend group that LOVED Xenoblade. They kicked me out when I said 3 sucked donkey balls and later on I found out they had an irl meetup and had a threesome.
In hindsight I think them liking 3 was the biggest red flag.

If you enjoy that it's cool.

this was the true redpill for me, its a great filter for finding out which jrpgs are actually worth playing forever

When you look it like that, on top of the lack of real identity, XC3 is just the artistic proof that you don't automatically become the sum of your parts.

JRPGs are already a very poor genre, since the gameplay is always an after thought and all of the budget goes into the cinematics and voice acting. Xenoblade just so happens to also have console warriors invested in it.

I used to just skip all the guides in video games and try to wing it and save scum to progress because I only care about the characters and playing dress up. I used to skip Lego games all the way through to unlock all the character creator options

I like Xenoblade gameplay, with X and 2 as the ones I enjoy the most under this aspect.

Did enel get nuked or something? He hasn't made his precense known yet.

That makes one of us.

Rushing the story of Lego games is unironically the best way to play them. The guy who blows up silver bricks or the baddie who can use bad guy magic is always locked at the end so you can't 100% any levels until the story is finished.

theres a lot of good gameplay jrpgs, i replay smtv a couple of times every year, same with neo twewy. i wanna check out xenoblade 2 because i hear the gameplay for that gets praised a lot

Xenoblade 2's gameplay sucks, just like the rest of the series. Not sure who told you otherwise.

So, after the world's merge, Mio and Noah meet up, and then they have Ghondor, which eventually lead to Matthew and Nael which will eventually lead all the way to Monica and Ghondor girl? And the power of Fate or Origin or the Zohar ensures that all the necessary pairings happen, everyone gets with the person needed to produce the right offspring, and no deviations are ever allowed to happen? So let's say I get isekai'd into the post-Xenoblade 3 universe and Monica - the second-to-the-last Generational Cityspawn that Origin has over bent reality to ensure came into existence - all of a sudden falls for me instead of Ghondor's father and we end up angling to having a son together - let's call him Mordor. Does the Origin do everything in its power to ensure it's matchmaking stays true to bring Ghondor to the world or will we be able to take a stand against the hyperbolic machinations of this manmade higher power, take Fate into our own hands, and forge a new Destiny and Future? Without Ghondor?

But don't you like sitting in one place while fancy spectacle plays out? It's the best turn based rpg you can imagine....

wait, it's not turn based? This is supposed to be realtime? ohhh......

switch 2 1080p 60fps patch

Didn't it start off as a better game with fighting robots?
Yeah bring that shit back.
Did not care for it.

he's still expecting answers from 3's dumpster-stew of a story

bout to insist my dick down yer throat

giving more of a shit than the people who made it

I'm sorry lil bro...

2 has good combat but for some reason they fucked up almost everything else.
Field skills, merc missions, (free) gacha system for blade characters and how their affinity charts work can be off-putting, but if you can tolerate all of these and learn how to fight, it can be tons of fun. Play the normal difficulty first, and I wouldn't recommend the DLC blades until postgame stuff.

1 is about fighting robots

X is about piloting robots

2 is about having thirsty robot stands

What is 3 about?

2 is so shit people who play it pretend their college professors when discussing it

Oh I am laffin
The absolute state

images (5).jpg - 230x219, 10.19K

Calling Blades "robots" is a huge stretch.

You become the robot

pretend their college professors

*they're

Takahashi and co being grouchy old men who are mad about the declining birthrate in the world they built up.

Ouroboros aren't robots.

Blades aren't robot either so

Nobody wants to talk about the fact that tendies believe what YouTubers say about Xenoblade 3 in their video essay slop

I know. That guy is a retard.

he says while posting a webm of dying due to mistiming your evasion art

evasion art that doesn't actually involve physically evading an attack, thus defeating the whole point of it being real time

Yet you still got owned.
And you were using Corvin, a blade designed to cheese the fuck out of the game even on the hardest difficulty.

Is it better than Torna? I actually liked Torna.

You're really just going to ignore all of the problems of the game's combat over trivial nitpicking? I posted that webm to show how stupid it is that NOBODY IS MOVING. Why is the game even real time if it's just gonna be treated like a turn based game?

E33 but bad

What the fuck were they thinking?

Sorry, but I can't take you seriously after showing off how much you suck. Try again next thread

I like XC1, XC2 and XCX, but I did not like XC3 and Chapter 13 of XCXDE. XC4 better be a fucking banger or I'll probably be done with the series.

hah you made a typo, so i'm gonna ignore your entire argument

I overlevelled wombocombo'd my way through every encounter and never learned the combat system.

We are in two.
Not sure I want a XC4, but I will gladly take a spiritual sequel with a completely unconnected story, but similar design elements like the big maps, similar style of gameply, etc. etc.

Why would I want to learn it, when it's either "standing still for an hour" or "watching a cutscene play out"? If it feels like I'm playing Uncharted, then no shit it's gonna lose my interest.

Don't reply, it's a known schizo plus he just made an ass out of himself. Remember to save the first webm to call him out when he comes back in future threads, because he will.

everyone who doesn't praise the game has to be a schizo. Nobody can ever be allowed to disagree with the consensus.

Why would I want to learn it,

Then why exactly do you think your input is valid when you don't understand what you are discussing.

You're trying to say that the game "gets better after 30 hours" but it never did. What's the incentive to play it your way, when it doesn't get fun? standing still isn't fun. If your game is gonna be real time, then actually make use of that. Have accuracy be based on ACTUALLY AIMING AT THE TARGET. If it's just gonna be some number that auto-aims for you, then you might as well just be turn based. And where's the aerial movement? The cutscenes show off the characters doing wacky sick kick flips and flying everywhere in their epic anime battles, and yet every actual fight is just standing on the ground. It's such a separation between the story and the gameplay that it feels dishonest.

Please

Xenoblade 2

quintessential otaku coomcore, also the most popular game n the series

Xenoblade 3

"Have sex"

Hmm, I wonder why 3 was so hated.

Literally the entire game

Replayed the whole series over the last year. All good shit in their own ways
This painting comes up in one of 3's sidequests. Was this a reference to an older game that I'm not aware of?

8tFnCd1.jpg - 1920x1080, 286.85K

the reason is because nintendo fans hate jrpgs but xenoblade 1 didn't "look japanese" enough to turn them off which is why you had retards squealing about XB1DE and XBXDE's graphical changes. xenoblade 2's different tone was "too japanese" for the tendies, and xenoblade 3 just didn't really need to happen, so far less people gave a shit despite it being the best one because i enjoyed it the most
case in point

I just want them to move on from the series. Honestly the overarching story of these games is so boring and all I ever see is concepts recycled from Gears and Saga but watered down and worse in every way.

X threads die out as most people finish it

back to the same copypasted bait threads again

*yawn*
Wake me up when news of the next xenoblade come out.
