I'm ready to pay at least 90 badass-o-bucks for Randy's magnum opus which is Borderlands 4, an upcoming action role-playing first-person looter shooter video game developed by Gearbox Software and published by 2K. It is a sequel to Borderlands 3 (2019) and the fifth entry in the main Borderlands series. The game is scheduled to release for Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on September 12, 2025.

There's obviously a discussion going on in the industry now over if charging less for your game might actually make it sell way more and be received better. Split Fiction and Expedition 33 were both like 50 bucks instead of 70 or 80 and they have both sold well and got great reaction from critics and players. Mafia 4 revealed its only going to be 50 bucks a few days ago instead of 70 or 80 and it got positive buzz around the game. So they may be considering pricing BL4 at 50 or 60 bucks instead of 70 or 80

This isn't really news, they're owned by Take Two now so Take Two will sell it at whatever the fuck they want, especially since now they might as well pump up the revenue numbers since GTA6 got delayed to May of next year.
In spite of all the memes and questionable quality of its writing, Borderlands has been a sales powerhouse, doing tens of millions since Borderlands 2, so I think T2 believes they've got an audience willing to tolerate the bump to $80, especially in lieu of so many games having editions in the $80-120 range.

I mostly typed that out because I don't think I ever heard a good thing about Borderlands. I only ever heard complaints.
I never had friends. I have a brother but we were Nintendo babies so we just played Mario Kart. Also, I'm just not into shooters. I played Doom 1, 2 (though I never beat it), and '16 and while I had fun I just like other genres much more.

While I agree with you, "fun with friends" has to be near the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to vidya. I've had fun playing fucking DBD with friends, it's almost a given for a game and is only worth mentioning when a game somehow isn't.

Sounds like made up discussion by youtube grifters because we've got an upcoming game Doom: The Dark Ages that is $70 and a deluxe edition that is $100. That gives you early access but for only 2 days instead of the usual 5 we've seen before. If that succeeds I honestly don't want to hear people complain about $80 games because you got proven wrong that people are willing to pay that amount. Nobody is hurting for money like youtubers are saying and they'd be willing to pay that amount depending on the game or brand recognition.

i only even played 1 and 2 because it was a multiplayer friend thing back in the day, the games were not particularly good all the fun came from fucking over your friends and joking around
and i paid very little for those games even then, probably like 5 quid each at most
