You can play it fine on modern hardware, I got the thing working on my Steam Deck. The biggest problem is that the porting team fucked up aspect ratio so you have to fix it in an INI file. There's probably graphical bugs in the port that never got fixed though.

DarkSector isn't a very good shooter to me, but it's got neat ideas and mechanics. This is my biggest gripe about the game. I don't mind everything being about The Grind, but it leads to an inherent need for optimization. The game has a bunch of weapons, some of which can even be pretty fun, but you really SHOULD only be using one or two room clearers and maybe a sniper for eidolons or something. Everything else is just mastery fodder.

I once had a dream about a weapon-specific leaderboard system. I have no actual ideas about how something like that should be implemented, but at least it would give some tangible reason to use something other than the objectively top 3 weapons.

I don't know much about chinese stuff, but his gimmick in Warframe is going fast with his 1, teleporting around with his oversized chakram and giving everyone vulnerability debuff with his 2, and being "almost" immortal with his 3, and impaling everyone with spears with his 4. His 2 also interacts with his 1 (causes heat explosion on teleport) and 3 (creates extra homing chakrams per impaled enemy hit).

You can just buy any primes on warframe.market for plat, vaulted ones will cost more. Unvaulted ones can just also be grinded for free with relic drops. Primes are always better but its just stat boosts.

They're on rotation. Basically you wait like a month and 2 of them come out of the vault. That's in addition to whatever the current new prime is and any others that are still lingering. The story reason is they randomly get shit out of the void. Basically primes were originally like character banners in gacha, they were only around for a while before a new one came out. But now we have so many in the game they make them available multiple at a time. Same with their weapons, they come out of the vault at the same time the frames do. If you're a new player it means you can get at least 2 frames every month or so that you don't have yet

when your shields pop you don't immediately die for a few moments

when you run out of shields, you are invulnerable to any additional damage for a period of time (can be extended with a mod). During this time, you can use an ability in combination with an augur mod to immediately regain enough shield to trigger the invulnerability effect again when it runs out. If you keep on top of this, you are functionally invulnerable without the need to build real defenses

You become invincible for a few seconds when your shields go down. It basically prevents you from being one shot by stopping an insane amount of damage from taking out your shields then bleeding into your health. The higher shields you have the longer the momentary invincibility is. Its saves your ass and allows you to get to cover

in order to prevent being one clicked, once you run out of shields, you do not take damage for some time - so if someone is blasting you with infinite damage shots at 99999rpm, you first lose your shields, then have a second or two of a breather, then lose your hp and explode
abusing shield gating means refreshing your shields in some way during that invuln window so that it triggers again next time you take damage - even literal 1 point of shield is good enough
that is one of the three ways to survive, and it requires some way to get shields back up and then juggling them, which isn't really that fun

So you get a brief period of invulnerability if something damages your shield, and any carryover damage you would have is cancelled. So if a level ten million bombard shoots your shield and breaks it, it won't kill you.
This can only occur for the full invulnerability period if you regain most of your shields again. So people use mods that refill your shield on ability cast, and reduce their total shield amount so abilities cast will refill it to X%, enough the gate works again. This effectively can make caster frames live in very high level content without too much sacrificed to stay alive.

DE isn't so much forcing people to use shield gating as doing what they've always done and just ignoring balancing around SP level content for the most part. Figuring the players will figure out what a new frame is useful for and how to build them well. They often do a balance patch a few weeks or a month after new frames as well if the new frame is really out of whack.
