I remember Kuon as as the game whose story would literally not happen if the main character simply walked over some grass. Seriously. There's a part early on where you chase after somebody, and the path is partially blocked by next to the blockage is a perfectly open lawn you could walk over. But the MC refuses to step off the paved road and thus she has to circumnavigate the whole haunted ass mansion to get 5 feet away from where she was if she simply walked on some grass for a few steps.
