originally he did an April fools joke with the payday devs saying "he was coming to the game". His fans liked it and started begging the developer to actually do it. So they relented and put him in the game. They also put his wife in the game because he asked the devs to put her in as well last minute. No idea how they originally contacted him for the April fools joke. I think one of the marketing guys was probably a fan or something.
