Why didn't you upgrade your gaming PC when we told you to?

Why didn't you upgrade your gaming PC when we told you to?

I haven't owned a desktop PC since the 00's.

I boughted 7800x3d and 4080Superduper after going from some second last gen intel and a 1060
I'm set for the next 15 years with how the industry is going unless we get quantum computers (we won't)

Well I was hoping a 5800x3d would last a little longer

I did

How do you play video games then?

mechanical HDD

renewed

on Amazon

Yeah, how about fucking no. How about taking the real prices from back then

Why would you buy new drives? Are you poor and only buying one?

Prices will go down once we start manufacturing those in America

you are cherrypicking weird products no one cares about.

in reality nothing is overpriced right now except GPUs

I don't play video games.

Don't worry about me having 1 drive or being poor

I didn't think it'd get this bad

Consoles and the occasional indie title I play on my laptop.

failure rate go BRRRRRRRRRRR

computers are not interesting at all anymore and the content for them isn't worth spending anything for it.

You need to buy like 4x 14TB drives and migrate that shit before you lose all of your data. wtf are you doing

Mais qu'est ce que tu hoard qui fait 28 putain de tera mon reuf?

I got a gaymen laptop with a 4090 already for cheap

I did, not because of you guys, I know what I'm doing at this point. But you were right. I had a 4090 since launch, but I bought a 9800X3D when Trump went into office.

buys used

accuses anyone of being poor

LMAO

should i get an am5 pc + 5070 Ti now before the drumpfslump really takes hold? they just said chinese ships are not docking anymore

Nigger

You're posting on Anon Babble so that checks out

Why would you buy untested drives for a NAS? Don't be retarded.

haha are you poor?

buys used mechanical drives

fucking retard

ps5

switch

both hooked to my living room tv

comfy couch

warm gf next to me

it’s gaming time

What software is this?

wow you must really good looking irl to get a gf, i cant get one because im ugly

...he asked on Anon Babble.

Well there's a bunch of backup already, but I have those oldass 2006 Samsung drivers that just refuse to die for some reason. And if anything, I was burned a bit already with the recent 12+TB drive. Had two semi-failing on me already. They don't make those as good as back in the days.

JAVs, and a dedicated H (hence the H:) mangos drive :^) You can guess what the P: drive is for.
More seriously, I'm a Anon Babblefag, and 40MB RAWs for a single photo really fucking adds up over time. Plus their backups, because you always keep backups of your photos.
Also hoarding a bunch of other shit.
C'est une maladie. Sauvez-moi.

Gf (male) btw

he doesn't know

lol

Have I replied to you in this thread yet?

Pic related. Most drives die early on, and then they run for years and years and years before failing.
This is why RAID exists. You can lose a drive or two and not have your data go offline.

The real scam is that none of them are worth buying. They wouldn't be selling if it wasn't an uneven trade.

Every time I asked on Anon Babble back in August/September last year if I should upgrade now or wait for 50 series nvidia cards, most replies would say to wait for the 50 series.

I had to rely on my own gut feeling based on events that transpired with 30 and 40 series launches to make the decision to buy a 4080 Super in October 2024. And it's lucky I did because they are currently going for hundreds of dollars more than what I paid.

The months before a new series of GPU launches appear to be the sweet spot for upgrading

Have I replied to you in this thread yet?

No. Is that good or bad?

I have two WD Reds i bought 11 years ago
...should i be replacing these or what

They're used datacenter drives. They care more about data density and power draw than anything else. They get rid of perfectly good drives because ones that use less energy and have more space come out.
You'd be retarded to buy new which comes with a higher risk of failure.

That's good. It's TrueNAS Scale. If you have no idea how to do linux you'll be lost probably, but if you stick through it an learn, then you'll have a powerful home server.

You will never buy a high end GPU for the price you bought that 4080. It's only up from here.

Wait until prices stablize. They're retarded right now.
If you're really going to buy more, use this to find whatever is the cheapest price per TB, and then buy at least 2, preferably 3 of them.

I have no place to upgrade to

I'm actually looking into upgrading from my 2080 Super which, if I'm being honest, doesn't REALLY need an upgrade because it handles every game thrown at it just fine. But it'd be nice to have a little more power.

But the only thing I found that even looks like it's an upgrade in power, while not being over $1000, is the 5070, and I don't even know if it's that much of an upgrade.

GPU prices are absolutely fucked right now. Don't bother.

I mean, yes, but also saying I'm not going to do something now just means committing to paying more down the road. The same way I should have been stockpiling 5.56 ammo when it was .20c a round, and now it's .50c a round and it ain't getting cheaper.
