This game was litterally made for milenials who grew up playing JRPGs by millenials. If you're in the age range of 30-45 you are probably at the stage of your life where you've lost someone and had to grieve, whether it's parents, pets, friends, siblings, etc, so the game will hit you just right and leave a powerful impression. This game will not be forgotten, maybe by streamer slop consuming zoomers, but millenials and some gen x gamers will remember this game fondly for years to come. I agree with all your points, but I just can't get into the characters. I don't know what it is they just seem so boring. I know they are supposed to be realistic so they can't have goofy anime tropes but I mean they really do seem bland in comparison to other mature stories like the last of us or KCD. Hell the only one I liked was Gustave because he's an engineer (my major) and died early so it gives him sympathy points.

Also E33 released at midnight on a thursday, no one had time for it until the weekend, and on the first weekend it hit 120k concurent. Second weekend 145k. This weekend it might peak again, since the no lifers and streamers have already beaten it and are gushing about it so they have more people to talk to about it.

They changed it some new "game rating" bullshit that requires like a billion reviews before it shows the actual rating. But E33 has actually gone up in rating the more reviews it gets, which is the opposite of how these usually go.

Also those top 2 aren't games, they are DLCs, which are massively inflated, so even now E33 is the highest rated game on the site.

Also, even deluxe editions usually should be excluded too (MGS3 Subsistence, Shadowbringers, Final Cut, GotY edition, HD edition) as they are also usually inflated, but E33 is still beating those.
