From a gameplay standpoint, MGS3 is simply better. I think the Big Boss wank started more with PW desu

MGS2 is good only when looked back at, it had the worst bossfights out of every MGS game by date, nonsensical plot that gets rushed in the last chapter with Arsenal Gear. Kojima watched matrix one too many times while writing the script for MGS2.

MGS games were never about Patriotism or Boss or Big Boss, it got made that way because a bunch of new kids liked MGS3 so Konami started cashing in on it
It is the antithesis to Metal Gear games and i dont even care since the two best games were already made before it, i think asking for more is greedy at that point
